Howard Stern’s assumptions say more about him and his misogynistic, racist mindset then it says about Alex or Andrea. Such a shame that this man has a platform to speak on and an audience that still listen to this garbage. The Botez sisters are epic and have encouraged and inspired many people (myself included) to get into chess. They couldn’t be anymore wholesome and yet still he objectifies them! It’s just a shame that not all dinosaurs are fossils 😏

If it means anything, as an old black man who has been casually playing chess for over 50 years, I think what you two are doing is wonderful and not in the least bit racist. I've seen nothing but respectful and friendly experiences in every video I've see you in and have even learned a few things about playing chess. The way the two of you talked through Mr. Stern's comments was also intriguing. It reminded me of why I like watching you play, intelligently dissecting everything he said and responding with both Alex's analysis and Andrea's opinion almost as if it were a chess game. Thanks for your content, it's fascinating watching two young women successfully compete on a business and intellectual level and succeed. Gives me confidence that despite life's hurdles my daughter can do the same.

@@foryourspirit3995 FTR, I don't agree that the world is "jaded" with "victimology" and I think Andrea pointed out a few issues that are intersected with real racism and not a product of a victim mentality. Howard Stern putting what these two young women do in a racist context demonstrated how little he understands the manifestations of racism. What was, again telling about the character and empathy of Andrea was that she did know what some manifestations of racism were and called them out(@5:22 in the video). She's not seeing racism as what a single person did or didn't do, but is calling out it's systemic nature "gentrification, mass incarceration, police brutality" and using sarcasm to point out the silliness of trying to pin it on a single person's actions. Those black men didn't mind getting beat by a pretty young lady, probably enjoyed the company, but those men knowing that their children can be killed by a scared cop and the cop getting away with it because someone was scared of their child's skin color is real and Andrea pointed out she knows this and understands what it is. Watching this video has given me a new found respect for these two young ladies. They obviously were deep thinkers given the way they play, knowing that it is not only deep but broad and based on apparently good foundation in reality is wonderful. The world needs more examples of success that reflect Alex and Andrea.

The 3 most viewed videos on this channel all have the same girl in a short white dress with cleavage showing. The 1st video has 16 million. The 2nd has 4.3 million. The 3rd has 3.7 million. All 3 videos show the same girl in the thumbnail in a short white dress that shows her cleavage. All throughout the videos you see her cleavage. The 3rd most viewed video they went as far to include her legs to get more clicks. Therefore he is correct in what he said. I personally don’t think Andrea should ever handle any drama because her response was quite immature and I think she’s too young to understand how to handle controversies and wrong takes because her first idea was to insult him for being unaware. Yes, some of the comments he made were not good but you can’t stoop to his level. IMO, Andrea should not have been in this video because Alex explained everything much better and was much more understanding and informative while Andrea let her feelings and emotions completely control her. @@guy15s yeah but that one banal and obvious observation was tangential to Sterns’s rant, not the main point of it. Or if it was the main point then he expressed it in an unbelievably crude manner. Come on, are you really suggesting his moronic remarks had validity that good judgment would have to acknowledge? Defensive knee jerk reactions? I’ve got news for you, most sensible and educated people would regard scornful dismissal as an appropriate reaction to Stern’s comments. Its not as if Andrea reacted in an intemperate manner to mild comments. She reacted intemperately to an inflammatory and insulting rant. Only someone who is not quite sensible and mature in his perspective could think otherwise

@@KhubbaS "most sensible and educated people would regard scornful dismissal as an appropriate reaction to Stern’s comments." You can take out the "sensible and educated." Most people, in general, will fly off the handle at the slightest provocation if the Internet is any indication. Doesn't mean it's a reasonable response. And again, it's not reasonable because you then slip up and give legitimacy to a moron when you take things too far in an emotional state. Alex did a much better job of tearing him apart by accepting when he was right and then basically making him look like a hyperbolic whiner. And I'm pretty sure, if Howard had a main point and wasn't just rambling like he's paid to do, it would be that the sisters use their attractiveness and their privilege as an advantage, given that the only thing he mentions over and over again consistently is that they are pretty white girls.

So maybe from his perceptive and others, they perceived it as taking advantage of someone, I think had the video expanded more the way you guys did here it lets the people know. That's the thing about the internet though, this video is 2 years old already and we get information either quickly, in spurts, or years later! Either way I can see all 3 of your points of view. At the end of the day you two are amazing and I never thought any of your content is racist. You two make great content and for the chess culture as a whole, you all have done great things along with bringing in more customers for the chess culture! Chess is not an identity-based game, but I guess someone who’s not familiar with how diverse the chess scene is will only look at things on a surface level. After the game, Andrea and that man even talked about how little kids have beaten them both before. I guess this response can be helpful to you two as content creators, just to know what other people think about your videos and who are not familiar with your generally playful personalities, which you use to make chess fresh and exciting. I love the contrast though. They had every right to be angry but while Andrea was very annoyed, Alex was trying to think about how he came to those conclusions. He was wrong, but the fact that she tried to think about it through his eyes ( or, perhaps more accurately, the eyes of someone who didn't know them ) was a really interesting take on it. Their reaction to his constant references to boobs was hilarious.

I saw that very game of Andrea playing that hustler in New York and I totally agree with Howard Stern 😅😅😅 Kidding! I don’t know what Howard’s views really mean except promotion of some kind. You both handled that criticism well, especially you Andrea 😅 That game was actually my favourite game of yours - seriously. You weren’t screaming or shouting, you weren’t trash talking, you just had a good game and respect was exchanged mutually - more like that 😊 Is there something in an attractive female playing a male who realises? Is there any quest for an advantage? Should there be an advantage in those circumstances? It’s an interesting discussion but overall it has to be comedy. We all have to be professional. Thank you for this content 😊

Except there very obviously is inequity. The Botez sisters' parents have almost certainly invested a shit ton of time and money into getting them to the level of chess they're at today, opportunities that aren't available to a poor person. Then there's also genetic inequality: you or I couldn't be as good at chess as Magnus Carlsen with all the training in the world.

I used to listen to Stern regularly when I was younger. He made his whole career off of objectifying and exploiting mostly young women and/or people with substance abuse issues, mental health issues, etc... I also believe people can grow and shouldn't be chained to their past if they've truly learned how to become a compassionate human. Having said that...the chutzpah of Howard to insinuate your videos of being racist and exploitative coming from his history is truly appalling and actually quite sad. Good for Robin to stick up for you.

You mean when Stern was fun and uncensored? I love old Stern interviews and segments. Yeah, there was moments of racism, sexism and other wrongdoings. The World was also different 20-30 years ago. 95% of it was just a great and unique show. You had freedom of speech back then and everyone didn't take themselves so seriously and didn't get offended by every little thing. He was an insanely good interviewer because he asked outrageous questions. Nowadays everything is so politically correct that it's becoming like the Oscar's. No one watches it or cares about it.
