BEYOND EVIL: Inside the Brutal Honor Killing of Amina & Sarah Said (TW!)

REMEMBER TO SUBSCRIBE! → bit.ly/2CwckC3
-
Directed by Neena Nejad and Xoel Pamos, "The Price of Honor" is a crime documentary about the murders of Sarah and Amina Said, two teenage sisters from Texas who were killed in a premeditated Honor Killing planned and executed by their father Yaser Said back in 2008.
The film chronicles the lives of the sisters and the path to their eventual murders by their own father, Yaser Said. The film reveals new details and uncovers evidence about the case that has never before been made public, including a previous murder committed by Yaser, his abuse of his daughters from a young age, and the ultimate sacrifice of Amina Said, who had a secret plan to protect the love of her life. Her words, through emails, letters and diary entries, become the voice of the film and change much of what has heretofore been assumed about this case. Despite the tragedy, viewers will learn of an incredible love story that still has life after death.
Yaser Said was finally arrested on August 27, 2020 after being on the FBIs top ten fugitive list for over 12 years. Also arrested were his son, Islam Said and Yaser's brother, Yassim Said, for harboring a fugitive. The jury found Said guilty of capital murder. Dallas County District Court Judge Chika Anyiam sentenced Said to life in prison without the possibility of parole.
As of January 2023, he is incarcerated at Texas Department of Criminal Justice's McConnell Unit in Bee County, Texas.
Helplessness. Frustration. Repulsion. Rage. Grief. Emptiness. And sadness -- a deep, lingering sadness that grips you and won't let go. These are but a taste of the myriad of intense emotions that the story of Amina and Sarah Said will take hold in your heart, and stay with you long after it has played out to its conclusion. You cannot have a shred of decency in you and not feel rage toward the so-called father of these two teen girls, and toward his family of protectors. You will also feel intense emotion over the continued denial of their cowardly American mother. Part of us can understand it was her self-preservation kicking in, based on a very real fear over what could happen to her. But still, its all so inexcusable. Join the discussion & Share!

Hi. I am a Muslim lady. Honor killings are haram which means forbidden within our religion. Sadly is has to do with backward cultural practices. Yes, sex outside of marriage is a great sin. In both Christianity and Islam. And it should not happen. Because it goes against God's commandments. But it does not mean that we should kill our children or teens. I would be angry if my children had sex before marriage. And I would tell them it's wrong. But I would never kill my children.

This was a well made film and very hard to watch. imo, the filmmaker going to the tombstones of Amina and Sarah was in very bad taste. She did not know them and this added nothing to the film...watching her stroke the tombstones, talk to them and cry. It was a 'private moment' and should have been kept private. The mother should have been charged with child endangerment and given a sentence as well.

She can't admit it without breaking into pieces herself so she is in denial. Abuse does things to one's mind, it's hard to understand her and not judge her because she is a victim herself, but she is guilty of failing to protect her daughters. I'm not saying she was truly able to protect them (probably not), but we as society are so used to the image of a mother that would die for her kids that it's hard not to condemn her. I agree, but I also read that, Tissie's family was VERY poor, and Yaser gave off this delusion that he and his family had a lot of money. Maybe, his family did, but not Yaser himself. I read that Tissie and her family did this, to try to "get her out of poverty." In 2012, I married a then 22-year old Black/Cherokee/White woman, and we had our daughter in 2013 (I'm Japanese-American, born in 1973, so I was 39 at the time). It was a shotgun wedding, but her family was always great to me, and we tried to make it work. Nothing bad happened; we just grew apart, proving that this age gap made us a total mismatch (no WAY a beautiful 22 year old should have been attracted to a 39 year old, ugly, overweight man, who as last "handsome" at 27). But then too, she was 22 when we married, which while super young, is a far cry from 14! And, I don't mean this facetiously: I was a MUCH nicer husband than Yaser, and I'm a MUCH better Dad than Yaser! (although, our daughter lives majority of the time with my ex-wife, which became much more the case because of the pandemic and social distancing).

I feel some of those films were to sell his daughters to prospective husbands. The one where they are in bed, he instructs the son to pull the covers off so he can film. What he says is creepy...ooo la la, look at those legs and feet. For Muslim women these would normally be covered. I think he was sending films to Egypt, bc not long after they go there. Then Amina states they were literally stoned. I think he was having trouble "selling" them as brides bc they were too western. Then finds out about the boyfriend, which means they are now damaged goods and unacceptable to most muslim males. After the girls had left with Patricia and with boys it was a done deal in his eyes for both of them. This still goes on, and it is sickening.

@helenaterschegget8791 The fire department is who she needed to talk to, they provide EMS in that town. The initial dispatcher is a position called a call taker. His role is to find out the nature of the call and direct it to who it needs to go to (fire dept, police, etc etc). In that town and most towns and cities in the United States the fire dept responds to medical emergencies. Once the fire dispatcher answers, the more detailed questions will come, that dispatcher is initially concerned with finding out what resources he needs. If there is an active shooter...he's going to contact the police dispatcher and have the police sent first before any fire or Ems apparatus. Once the safety threat is cleared, then the fire rescue unit will show up or enter and begin medical aide. I can go on and on but def do some research on how the 911 system works. People think you call 911 and a single dispatcher is ready to give you whatever. Usually fire has theirs, police has theirs, ambulance agencies have their own...etc. Think about how crazy impossible it'd be for one dispatching agency to be coordinating and responbile for all of the police, fire and ambulance companies dispatching?! Remember, dispatchers aren't just answering 911 calls...they're delegating resources, updating systems and regional information, constantly communicating back n forth with the field units etc. That said, this dispatcher could have yes...not gotten flustered and perhaps made a smoother transition to the fire dept and gotten a tad more information for the FD. But, he was doing what he needed to do which was transfer the call based on the limited information he was getting from the caller and beginning the work of triangulation locations and deploying resources.

In the past year five Asian men have shown me their true colours and they have little respect for women, if they can be verbally abused to a friends wife they’ve no respect for white people or any female they married white women and converted for Them, wearing the traditional outfit whilst they walk around in what western type expensive clothing they want and also blatantly cheat on their wives. I’ve never found myself in such situations where i have felt so bullied by anyone since leaving primary school. I know you can say this about anyone any different type of ethnicity but because they preach all the things they do but they don’t live to certain ones they say and that’s respect for women they only have respect for their moms because they gave birth to them. But it’s not the same for the rest.

About 25 or so years ago my husband and I were providing a loving and caring foster care for mostly newborn babies with special needs. One year we were caring for a beautiful baby boy that the mother wanted to place for adoption. She really didn’t want to so we told her we would help her with anything she needed to keep him. We got her a pac N play crib a stroller also diapers and formula. She kept saying that if her father found out he would kill her and her baby. I was so ignorant at the time about “honor killings”. I kept telling her that one of our grandchildren were born out of wedlock and were very upset about it but we adjusted and became very supportive. I’m sorry for rambling on when I just wanted to say muslin so call honor killings are very real. It just breaks my heart.

Fat Pat is a poor excuse of a person. I hope someone does to her what she wishes someone would do to Yaser. I get that she too was a victim. However after a certain point you know when things have to end. I think she had gotten to that point, but kept lying out of guilt and proceeded to spiral. She lies to herself and everyone else. I can’t believe she wasn’t doing any time for her involvement

I saw this a couple years ago and it still really gets to me. They were so beautiful. Their disgusting, waste of space ass mom oooooh…she should be locked up just like her nasty ass husband. She literally helped him kill them. Their brother needs to be too! I feel so helpless and tear up every time I hear the phone call..I can only imagine how absolutely terrified they were in their last moments. I can only hope that he suffers in jail now that he’s finally been caught.

The woman who claims to have given birth to them….what a piece of work! She has lost the right to be called Mother. IMO. She lost that right when she conned the girls into going to “dinner” with their lunatic sperm donor. She might as well have pulled the trigger herself. Such a tragedy! Angers me to no end!!!!!😭

What kind of mother is that 😱😤😡👎🏼👎🏼👎🏼???? So cowardly that she can't even protect her daughters and raised her son to be a spoiled and brutal bitch!!!! This woman knows a lot more than she admitted and for me she is an absolutely clear accomplice and just as guilty of the death of her children and deserves a fair punishment !!!! The son belongs behind bars anyway, because he is an absolute danger to his environment!!! May all those involved, not a single second in their lives, find peace and have such massive mental suffering as the two sisters who were killed !! Rest in peace 🙏🕯👼🏻🕯👼🏻 you 2 brave girls!!!

This gives so much more than a man who was worried for his honour but actually a perverse man who was furious that his daughters were going out in the world and being with people and not him. He was a sick sick man. I also thing that there is something seriously wrong about Patricia and there are chances that she lied about the abuse she faced too.

Why fire department? Someone calls "I'm dying" and they connect you to the fire department? Also, when someone states they are dying you put them on hold? wth our emergency operators have to become better than that.

That woman had the brass neck to call her ex husband a devil, does she realise she too is a devil? She did not protect the most precious gift she had!!! She got away yet went back and delivered her innocent daughters to their death. The father, mother and brother had something to dovwith those 2cgirks deaths as well as uncles and they all should be behind bars. If your child tells you they have been abused YOU LISTEN TO THEM, BELIEVE THEM AND MAKE SURE YOU GET JUSTICE FOR THEM. That woman is just as evil as her husband was, if not more so.
