Informative, thanks. I have seen failed forestay inside furler. Mast being held up by jib haliard! Luckily did not break. Forestay probably failed due to fatigue from vibration during motoring.

I guess they only have to make the sail attachments last as long of the rest of the rigging so they can be made out of plastic and just replace it all at the same time rather than carry all the extra weight of stainless attachments.

Stress Corrosion Cracking. It's no joke! You're doing the right thing to replace those bolts. You know that, but it doesn't hurt to have it re-enforced!

After reading the title, I was thinking this would be a sad video what with the delay, but was pleasantly surprised. Thank you Thomas for your positive attitude and informative, fun videos. Congrats on your second vaccine dose. Speaking for myself, it has been a positive experience for my family and I with the Moderna vaccine and has definitely given us a better state of mind as we have started to venture out in public much more often. Take care and stay safe and healthy. Cant wait to see Be Free sailing the waves very soon.

@@SailingwithThomas That is so true, no wonder that navy's keep continuous inspections when underway. I think that cleaning/polishing helps finding small stuff that can become disasters.

I don't know why they always pack the weakest screws. Matter of fact, I've noticed that Phillips head screws always wallow out to useless when I'm trying to install them. It's maddening. Hannah is a good friend to you. I hope one day you have a aluminium Caribe tender. It would look good next to your beautiful boat

Hi there! Yeah they are kicking in between 2,5 to 3 KWh a day if it’s sunny. My house bank is 850Ah and two different start batteries. Also dedicated batteries for navigation and windlass thruster and winches. In total 12 batteries onboard. If it rains and I am low on power I also have two generators onboard. A diesel generator and one gasoline generator as backup.

Hi Thomas, I’m disappointed in Sweden, how can they send you the wrong parts 😡 I hope that they prioritize your new parts in front of any other work, if it’s being made in south os Sweden let me know and I will kick their buts 😁
