That out of focus realism effect for Druth would make a GREAT effect for a Fatal Frame game.

that rune shit is actually super amazing for real world reasons. some versions of schizophrenia include a kind of hyper-perceptiveness, where you subconsciously notice little inconsequential things in the world (like a weird tree shadow) and those things take on meaning in your delusions.

_"If we both just noticed it, then maybe it just appeared."_ - Woolie Madden and Patrick Boivin, infamous for their blindness.

Pat: "On the one hand, Ninja theory soiled and ruined the love of my life. On the other hand, this game gives me a reason to use the thing I learned."

My favorite thing about this video was imagining that Pat and Woolie were just another couple of voices in the schizo MC's head.

When the voices whispered "why isn't she running" and there was no clear danger, it made me feel very uncomfortable

Boy, I didn't expect them to play Far Cry ASMR today.

Watching Pat and Wooly try not to jizz over a video game while recording is the best experience i have had all day

The main problem with most depictions is that they tack on schizophrenia for characters who are incredibly violent, which does nothing but perpetuate the narrative that people with schizophrenia are inherently violent.

Spencer Pommier she is actually from ninja theory and was filling in for the set up of the motion capture and they thought she was right for the role. Decided to go with her instead of hiring someone outside the company.

Nocturne Knight she also suffers from mental issues herself which makes her acting all the more genuine. She did an amazing job with this. Check out the Hellblade Feature in the actual game and it tells you all about that. This is really one of my favorite games

Knights of the old republic could have the potential to be one of their best ever. the first one has some amazing dialogue to throw jokes off of.

"No grunts , bosses only." Youre really wrong, Woolie.

The game is good. What's even more important though is that Ninja Theory is singlehandedly trying to bring back the mid range range game in terms of cost. This game looks great, hell it looks amazing in some part, it has simple but rewarding mechanics, and a really interesting narrative, and it costs thirty fucking bucks. That's laudable, that's much needed pushback against increasingly predatory publishing practices. Ninja Theory really did something good here, get your DMC hating heads out of your asses and recognize that the industry needs more projects like this and more triple A development teams willing to make games that deliver an interesting experience without charging you 60 bucks for it.

I have schizophrenia, and watching Liam stream this last night made me hekka fricken uncomfortable. So props to the devs I guess.

so do I, and it just made me cringe. it's reddit-tier pandering- "oh you poor little thing, how horrible it must be for you, stay safe, take care of yourself!" by people who feel like they have some kind of moral obligation to treat the mentally ill like shining special lil' snowflakes. they'll pretend they understand and care and dress your illness up in the borrowed clothing of another culture in order to make it seem 'cool' and 'edgy', and they think that it makes them better people- self-serving, self-righteous bullshit. how can you have any respect for the people who exploit your existence as if it's just another art style?

I feel like we are in the pat era of SBFP because there are a lot of short LP being uploaded.

_Am I the only one who has NEVER EVER heard about this game or its development until now? If so, then I must be living in a goddamn cave!_

After my own battles with psychosis, this game really makes me anxious. It's a rather accurate depiction of what can be experienced during that state of mind. I'm actually glad the audio was in mono, cause hearing all those voices around me might of made me have a panic attack. It's pretty torturous when you can't turn off the noise. I stopped taking my medication a while ago cause it affected my work. As well as making everything feel flat and dead. I teeter on the edge of falling back into psychosis, but at least I am myself again. Unfortunately, it means I have to restrain and limit myself more often. To much stress threatens to through me back into the chaos.

And to think Punisher's dead FAMILY FAMILY FAMILY, was way more subtle than this game's whispering...

Be careful! Ninja Theory doesn't believe in playtesting. Thank goodness we got stellar playtester Woolie the Liar on hand.

Dear, SBFP. If you take the headphone output from a TV (with a "Y" cable) and send the Left and Right audio channels to a mixer, you can output to headphones, in stereo. Just a tip, if you start getting tired of mono splitting.

The "all progress will be lost." Just instantly reminded me of Adventure Time. The Hall of Egress episode. Where every time he opens his eyes he starts over. Lol. Even similar with the door and whatnot. Yeah.....

This shit came out of nowhere, and it looks awesome, amazing really.

This is cool. I enjoy games that use their mechanics to make you understand and empathize with a character because it teaches you about other people you couldn't understand in real life. That's a cool thing to do with your work.

I have had varying degrees of psychosis in the past, with strong visual and auditory hallucinations. Watching eagerly.

Muspelheim is a considerably vague area in Norse mythology. All that's defined is that fire from Muspell & Ice from Niflheim helped create the world primordial that the Frost Giants came from. It's...presumably sealed off somehow inasmuch as the Lord of Muspelheim, Surtr, only gets out at Ragnarok & uses his bitchin' huge sword to just BURN DOWN THE SKY & THE WORLD ALONG WITH IT. He has some retainers, but no one goes there & no one can leave, so it's mostly just "fiery-place"

I'm actually super curious about this game. Like it seems super interesting after watching this.

What a fascinating movie.

Ok, that lady's voice is legit ASMR material. She should start a channel where she whispers existential, depressing shit in your ears while brushing the hair of child's corpse. Maybe crinkle some dried skin too. She'll fit right in.

I bought a couple of "arthouse" games before realizing that there's no replayability value and watching them on youtube for free is better overall.

Man, being able to read Norse Runes and being VERY familiar with Norse History makes this game even fucking cooler

Having read/watched some docos about schizophrenia the representation with the voices seem pretty legit

This game title needs one less L for it to be fitting... and less derivative.

Using face-capture technology? Better make sure the character's hair doesn't go in front of the face.

its interesting how this game forces the player into the right mindset for example observe how woolie avoids walking in the light on the first part of the path and later when he gets into the fire gaints domain how he chooses to walk in on the path with the most shadows

This might be the most visually impressive game I've ever seen but I really want a sprint/jog button or the movement speed to be faster

Pat has 100 % certainly heard of the norse fire-giants, because Surtr is a mandatory encounter in some SMTs.

It's the intro song playing over a 5 minute photoshop job. But it's still more blood, sweat and tears than dsp has put into his already 30 part Hellblade series. It's just amazing to me how little a youtuber could give a fuck about their audience.

I don't like it when people tell him to get a "real job" because KZread is a real and demanding job if you are passionate for it, but at the same time they're right for telling him to get a real job because he has no passion at all for what he is doing. Good question. If it hadn't been for Surt, I would have had a hell of a lot harder time in the end-game of P5.

it doesn't actually delete your save file, its an empty threat. also it feels that 3 of the 6 hour long story could be cut and nothing of value would be lost from the narrative

the game is photo realistic, but also the animation and character movement and mannerism almost feel like its climbing out of the uncanny valley on the far side.

So it's HD Norse Shadow of the Colossus/Furi with Witness puzzles? What an interesting hodgepodge of ideas
