Best Free Bait For Catching Sheepshead Near Bridges

Спорт

I started out targeting Snook and ended up catching Sheepshead near bridge pilings. There were small Mangrove Crabs crawling around on the concrete pillars that I noticed while casting a swimbait between them for Snook. I caught one crab and then noticed that there were several of them on the bridge supports. I eased the kayak around and collected about ten of the free baits to use for targeting some stripped convicts. It took a while for the fish to start feeding. The best fishing started about an hour before the tide stopped moving. I caught four Sheepshead in about an hour, all of which were nestled right next to the bridge pilings.

This is a great example of everyday real life - get it done - make it happen - stick with it - don't give up - flexible smart fishing. JC is a great fisherman making a difficult day productive. This is not a slick video that makes you think every cast is a catch like so many highly edited fishing videos that give the watcher unrealistic expectations for fishing. Great job JC!!!

Dunno if you have spoken to Mike D lately but he has a sheep's head jig that seems to be killing them. Called the bottom sweeper. I usually free line or use a light split shot for sheepies. Gonna try out one of those jigs first chance I get!

Hi JC, I was glad to find a new vid this morning! I felt your pain, fish spines can ruin your day. Once while fishing on a beach in the dark I grabbed what I thought was a large bull whiting, it was actually a really big hard head cat and his side fin stuck all the way thru my hand. My friend held my arm down, cut the fin with pliers then pulled it thru. My hand swelled badly and was purple, it hurt alot. I like all your videos, couldn't tell if it was before or after that rain cloud came thru. I always called those bridge crabs but I think they are better than fiddlers. Thanks for another entertaining video!

What are the odds? I stumbled across this video, and thought, that guy looks just like the guy that parked next to me at the bait shop this morning. Then I saw the red kayak, and remembered it was the same kayak that was on his roof. Great informative videos.

@@RadReelingFishing Awesome JC. I have watched so many of your videos these past few days. I have learned so much. I never thought I would enjoy the sound of sizzling bacon, sausage, eggs or cutting wood so much. You are a great teacher of the tricks, and very generous with your knowledge. Perhaps one day I will be blessed to fish with you. Best to you.
