I left London UK, my well-paid job, rented flat over ten years ago and moved to the mountains in central Italy, I live on very little money from a couple of English lessons I give to kids in the nearby village but not always, like one week I make 15 euros, another nothing! I have no car or a washing machine or hot running water or central heating, my trusty wood stove does all the cooking, heating water for washes and heating my small very old stone house, no internet, just limited access through my mobile phone....I grow food, keep chickens, forage and barter with some small organic farms here..I will never go back to my old life, never. I don't need stuff, haven't bought anything in years, I don't own anything valuable, I don't want to travel, I'm just happy here in my small house surrounded by my family of animals and trees and plants..when I was in London I was miserable and sick all the time despite the good money I was making (stupidly spending it on horrid clothes and stuff), now I have no money but I'm the happiest and healthiest I've ever been..wake up people...love to you all💚💕😻

Actually, I'd disagree. Poverty is first of all a purely oppressive force: it doesnt build character as such, it is simply a heavy blanket of stress, decision fatigue, etc. And it breeds narcissism as well as anything else: you're at the bottom of society, thus you have a 'deep down' suspicion/fear that all the rich people you see on TV & social media are really are better than you, that maybe your race really IS 2nd rate like the stereotypes claim, etc. Which can cause one to overcompensate by pendulum swinging into a full-blown narcissism as a defense mechanism: ACTUALLY you're better than everyone else. And then you have people so desperate to maintain their illusion of superiority they'll shooting someone because they stepped on their shoes. The cure for narcissism is to sacralize the everyday, the normal, and to be grateful for what traits and gifts you undoubtedly do possess.

I’m working toward that myself, and my family doesn’t like it though lol - I also cut back my hours at work and don’t let my family buy things “just to be buying things” I am a true believer that simplicity is the true path to happiness.

We feel so blessed to be able to film with the people we do, often one films leads to the next. Beneke who we filmed two weeks ago had a once off conversation with Theo in the street and suggested I meet him so I jumped in my car drove eight hours, meet Theo and landed up making this little film, we live in a beautiful world with stories everywhere.

If there isn't some kind of selfless person involved who provides the place to build a life like that. You're gonna need money to accomplish that. I'll add an observation. I've been watching this channel now for a few months, and there is a common theme - Deep Wisdom. KZread is flooded with all sorts of self improvement advice, and buzzwords from people who don't exactly practice what they preach and aren't grounded in any realness. And in effect because they too live in a bubble, have only haphazard advice to give. The real conversation comes from the pure, simple and humble. Those that are connected not to their cellphones, but to their communities and the Earth. I feel many people believe that answers need to be complex and high tech. But they don't, and people are slowly waking up to that fact. A little more each and every day.

I did the same. Left London just over 3yrs ago for rural Italy, hills, mountains, nature & animals. It took a little adjusting. I was born in London and in very late 40s when I left. But very happy with that decision now 🙏

There is something magical about this man....His simplicity, the way he talks, smiles, laughs. His whole energy...Mesmerising. The lesson he's given us. I don't know how many times I've watched this video, but I love it!!! I wish him all the best! Such a sincere human being.

I have watched it thrice, penned down whatever that spoke to me. His precious nuggets of wisdom is so simple but amazing. At 39 years old, I had lost everything too, incurred $50 000 debt, wanting to end my life a couple of times as I held my possessions so so tightly. I thought my life is over. I realised that I have allowed materialism and scarcity mindset to keep me in a mental prison that I have imprisoned myself in. Depression sinks in and I felt so trapped. Terminal insomnia sets in and I experienced bouts of anxiety every single day. It happened on January 2022. Fast forward now, I have slowly walked out of all these mess through counselling and healing sessions. Suddenly, tonight, the feeling of pain surfaced once again, I happened to chance upon this video. I am very thankful for his sharing. I really appreciate. Thank you so much

Poverty is the best broom! Great one. I lost my home in 2008, foreclosure. It was painful the day I drove away and drove down the exit to a poorer neighborhood, all I could afford after living in a nice neighborhood, I realized and said to people , " this is where I live." And I would pass my hands over my physical self. This is where I live. In this body. It is my home. My body and soul. I fortunately live in an apt now sharing with my sister after she lost her husband to alcoholism. I'm grateful for what I have. It's 2022. Millions are homeless here in the USA. home is where the heart is.

I’m 67 now - I discovered the wisdom of the enlightened, when I was 50, making the last 17 years the best of my life - if I would have discovered Eckhart Tolle when I was your age it would have made an incredible difference!

His smiling beaming face lights my heart every time I watch this … look at the positivity and warmth in his eyes .

This was the most beautiful and profound thing that ever happened to me to let me re-discover my lost inner truthfulness. I became such a horrible person, I lost myself. In our traditional Sikh prayer there's a saying "May God bless us with poverty".

I love your attitude my brother. I've just spend 5 months in different Thai Buddhist monestaries. ❤ One meal a day, no watch, no phones, no internet, no fashion besides white. This was one of the most beautiful times in my life. It was time spend in the NOW. Not the past or the future. Minimalism at its most profound state. The only way to reach it, is to be mindful and follow the Universal laws. Namaste 🙏

i have the impression that a lot of schooling is about preparation to be an obediant, dutyfull, disciplined worker serving the powers that be. Look how people are following the narrative without questioning anything. critical thinking and slf realisation are being evaporated the longer you stay and live within the system. fake destructive and narcissistic values are promoted and the kindness and caring nature is replaced with competition, even play (sports) are all about competion. All joy is lost, all friendship is lost as comparison and strive are promoted as higher values😢

Throughout the video, I felt a genuine smile on my face. Thank you for reminding me to enjoy what is here and what is real. I just lost everything, my businesses, positions, wealth, and power. But, yes, just as he said, those are not the real things and I am indeed realizing, though very challenging, that losing everything may actually be the best thing that happened to me. There are millions of people who yearn to be mega rich but the life of a multimillionaire or billionaire is ultimately quite stressful. You worry about all the expensive stuff you’ve bought, you worry about your safety and security and you worry about your money. There is something to be said for just having “enough”.

My gosh! Everytime I watch another video that I have not seen of yours, I have a new favorite. Even when I go back and watch an old one again and again it becomes my favorite again. This man and myself are so much alike. I love what he said about having what's necessary to be around people and that is clothing. I do believe that at 72 years old I might frighten people otherwise. LOL

I work in the world filled with obscenely wealthy peasants...My general take of extreme wealth is that it remains an affliction...I have managed to keep my life simple and spend a lot of time under water and on my bicycle...the connection to nature is so healing and absorbing.although living in a great part of the world helps. One thing in common with all the characters in this series, is no white noise of TV. Just acquired a yoga mat for remaining flexible has already brought so much joy...Thanks for this series.

Bastyr University for naturopathic doctors had a book in their bookstore about MS. The book mentioned some oils that may help. Evening primrose oil was one. Probably vitamin D - maybe from (lemon flavored) cod liver oil. I’ve also heard from someone with the gift of knowledge from God that the daily recommended amount of beta carotene plus 1-2 capsules of chondroitin from shark cartilage can help rebuild myelin sheath.

There is a product called "zeolite". It is a natural volcanic rock, which is crushed to a fine powder so that it can be ingested. Zeolite helps to cleanse the body of toxic substances. Taking several teaspoons of zeolite per day is the usual dosage. I highly recommend it.

I love his warm and gentle personality so much! I thought while watching this video he is talking only to me, I felt like sitting next to him at that stone. He is so full of love and kindness. Thanks so much for this video 🙏🙏🙏
