I'm just 23 years old, but I don't feel as young as my age indicates. I live by the saying, "nothing is new under the sun". It really is the truth. I have no reason to believe that another human being hasn't experienced what I've felt before. But this gentleman's story reminds of the simple truths in life that I learned once, and conveniently forgot. I got lost in the haze and the storm of modern life. My happiness really is within my control, and what is within my control is always within my possibility to achieve. I had to remind myself that my happiness doesn't come when troubles stop, when I get the chance to just sit back and breath, and it doesn't come when I do a good job and get good grades. I made the mistake of giving external things the control over my peace and happiness, things which are supposed to be derived internally. Never is this lesson more painfully resonant than in this saying by Fyodor Dostoevsky: “Your worst sin is that you have destroyed and betrayed yourself for nothing.” I have, indeed, betrayed myself; destroyed and betrayed myself for nothing. For what? For external factors like success, fear of failure, and the validation of man. Nowadays, my fear of failure, of worldly failure, has entombed me in a state of bondage that is of my own doing. But now that I know the truth, the truth shall indeed set me free. I'll throw off these shackles and walk free, no matter how bloodied and painful the journey is.

"life is good" is exactly what every living person should think and live by. unfortunately, we're not all the same in this realm. some people's perceptions on life are enough off kilter where by which their understanding that this life will end (all by itself) without any protracted intervention by us, on us, isn't quite as understood..... how unfortunate. life itself, is for the living to live. its not for those who've passed, or those who have not lived. that concept may be hard for some to grasp, however its universal truth can and does stand on its own, regardless of your learned belief structures.......

I'm 26 already and after college I feel like I am sole responsible of keeping the family needs in line to my working. I felt so alone that even my sister isn't helping us. She is okay being in between and living her life according to how she understood it. For me, I'm so fast paced in success that working abroad is helping me achieve my financial goals. At 26, I felt all the stress not only for the job but also for the needs of my family. Still, Im trying to accept my fate that this is me at the present. I'm still hopeful every day that there's good news. The good news that I always pray.

The real deal…right there. When he quoted Leonard Cohen, and then started singing straight from his heart and soul, I released some suppressed tears. Thank you for this heartfelt, beautiful video.

@@RhythmSectionAfrica thank you so much for sharing your story as well I am 58 now and can so much relate to your story where drugs are concerned. I got to shooting up drugs in 1983-85 but praise God I had a loving Mother that never gave up on me and God did not either. I had so many people praying for me, to be honest I should not even be alive I had so many seizures when I was shooting drugs all by myself. I would come to with blood all over my lips and shirt from chewing my tongue because of the seizure. But praise God he brought through it and I learned so much from all of that. Would I change what I did if I could go back I don’t think so cause it made me the person I am today. What state are you from I am from Ga. Keep telling your story and God Bless you and your Wife!!!!💚💚💚

Remember "Let it be, let it be, speaking words of wisdom , let it be", by the great Sir Paul McCartney which was a huge hit when it came out along wtih "Bridge Over Troubled Waters" by the great Simon and Garfunkle which they played on the radio 24/7 back in the day! Lifelong pianist/composer here and can relate in some ways. Thanks for sharing your story as we all learn from one another. Letting go is a major lesson and Alanon helps those who have been co-dependent all about the art of letting go! "Let go and let God" is another saying as well worth remembering! I've watched countless videos on this topic and one thing is always constant or present in all of them. The dog! He is truly man's best friend and we should all take a moment and watch a dog when they are at ease. We should all learn by their example and be at ease.

What a wonderful human being and story! I don’t cry watching youtube videos, but seeing this man sharing his pain and wisdom made me drop some tears of sorrow and joy. I’ve been in the dark too and slowly coming back to light, realising day by day that love is the answer - in any way or shape it comes!
