I totally relate. I was tormented by my drunken stepfather from 5 to 17. My mother never protected me. At 17 I joined the Army. The Army transformed the anger and hate and transformed me into a man capable of extreme violence. At 27 I was an alcoholic and passively suicidal. I left the Army did a 180 and became a nurse. I met a woman who saved me. She helped me untangle my jumbled up past one string at a time. Now at 58, I'm grateful for life, family, and the gift of life. I love this channel and stories/wisdom that it brings. Thank you.

My heart goes out to him. He is a good and decent man. Sometimes we have to "hit rock bottom" in order to manifest our purpose. And we must always question and challenge authority figures and gauge their appetite for power.

Thank you. The rape at sixteen finally doesn’t define me at 72. I cried when I saw this video. When one gets on the other side of the trauma, then we can truly be who we are meant to be. No you have helped one person, man, and I am grateful for your kindness and love.

Wow your words nailed it. I also believe that we put people on pedestals, but the real unsung heroes are the ordinary people making a difference and even without anybody knowing it.

I waited until Christmas Day to watch this video, and I’m so glad I did. As a trauma survivor in the midst of ‘awakening’ I often feel alone. But when I watch these films I am comforted knowing my tribe is out there. So while I am alone physically on this day, I know that I am not alone in life. Michael and Justine, please know this work you do, these stories being told by these brave and beautiful people are opening hearts and minds everywhere. And that is what Christmas is about. ✨🕊

Kent’s message, and his "presence of being" is so powerful and inspiring it almost takes your breath away. To be grateful for everything; wow, so much easier said than done! But it rings true when Kent says it; doesn’t seem like just words for the camera. So many of us with so much more seem to struggle with finding that gratitude. Kent's a survivor, but he seems to not only have survived, but thrived. He only hints at some of the things he’s gone through to get to the place of joy, acceptance, and gratitude he’s at today. The journey was no doubt tough, but he made it. Makes me think of the quote by Winston Churchill, “when you’re going through hell, keep going.”

My little boy is still alive today. He had it rough, but at the point the choice to live or die came, I chose to keep him alive, no matter what. I take care of him, I nurture him, and I give to him, what he is missing. He still yearns to know the why ?? And I don't have those answers, and I don't think we will ever know why, but I have pieced together all the information I have to paint him the partial picture of the why. This message is poignant. Yes, I am grateful every day that I wake up, because that little boy gets another day to see the world.

Such beautiful wisdom about unburdening from our past traumas! Marshall Vian Summers writes about this process of letting go so that we can give our true gifts to the world. "How can you be angry when the world serves you? When you recognize how much the world is serving you, which can only be recognized in the context of Knowledge, you will then end all of your hatred towards the world [and] all of your condemnation... and resistance to the world. This will confirm your true destiny, your true origin and your true purpose for being in the world. You have come into the world to learn and to unlearn. You have come into the world to recognize what is real and what is not. You have come into the world to be a contributor, [which] is the real nature of your presence here." (Steps to Knowledge, Marshall Vian Summers)

I found SO much hope and beauty in Kent's story. I'm so grateful for the people who do the hard work of whatever is being asked of them to heal. Had Kent not been willing to take that journey, he would not have discovered the freedom or the great gift he is offering us here. Thank you so so much for sharing his story with us.💚Fell in love with him the moment he got up to open the door for his cat. His words filled my eyes with tears, and my heart, with gratitude. I know how it feels like to hide the pain. How helpless it is when we cannot see a reason to be happy. But later, I found how beautiful this life is. The more we get, the less we see. The less we get, the more we see.😊🌼 Simplicity is the best way to happiness. Giving is the best thing that can bring us happiness. Loving is the best thing that exists in this world. I wish I had heard this fifty years ago.I turn 70 in a few days, all my life I have carried teenage trauma and been robbed of enjoying this beauty called life.My children were also robbed of a carefree, happy mum and that hurts terribly, for them and me.A little bit of peace is all I want these days, and, with grace, it is happening.Nature and a cat always help too.

Almost 70 years ago at infant school we had a 'Nature Table ' that any of us kids could bring any item in contribute to ! Many wonderful things from local parks & kids gardens etc soon filled it & we learnt what things were ! By age 7 years I knew every tree species in the park over the road , Picked leaves to press in my 'scrap-book' , made drawings of their fruits, catkins ,nuts & flowers with help from a friendly parkkeeper ! I asked a Headmistress friend why nature tables dont exist now ,she said 'Its NOT on the curriculum ' !!!!

It all make sense about the leaves and the trees. I talk and sing to my plants every day. I have been taking care of them for more than 14 years. Whenever some leaves die and fall I cry than the new ones bloom and grow even more beautifully. I see my life in them. They teach me hope and patience and things that I could not accept about my past. This man is so fragile but yet so strong 💪. I love his words of wisdom.

“I’m not defined by my childhood experiences….” My heart stood still when he shared his childhood trauma. It takes courage to face the trauma. Like him, I endured such trauma. He’s so wise…you do have to heal it and let it go. It took me 20 years. Now, I can be a blessing to the children I teach by recognizing their trauma and helping them to heal. Thank you for sharing part of our soul collective today.
