Rescue is chaotic, it’s the only way it runs. Wouldn’t it be great if it did go smoothly but that’s just not life. What a fabulous job you do. Even if it’s just so they pass in the warm, they were given a chance.

Mary, please take care of yourself. Studying and running a rescue is not easy. Naps and vegan snacks are not adequate for a 31 year old lady, even if school is over for the year. I'm sorry these babies didn't make it but hopefully their siblings will. You and Bethany are amazing ❤

So much better for them to pass somewhere warm and cozy than in the cold and rain. I think in nature a short, difficult life is often the rule rather than the exception, so even just giving them somewhere cozy to pass is a blessing in itself.

Please do not listen to the comments about changing your style. People are so used to The Dodo and the like showing only the wins and calm of it. You showing people what it is actually like means more than you can know. My wife and I started fostering dogs on accident( long story) this past year and the chaos you show is accurate, and we had only a couple at a time. I am so sorry about moon and rocket

I have a litter right now who went in for shots a few weeks back, and since our shelter is having a ringworm outbreak, we voiced concerns to the staff who were going to take them back. They assured us they wouldn't catch anything. Exactly two weeks later, we start noticing bald spots 💀. DTM just came back negative but we had 14 days of p a n i c

I know making that decision hurts, and it's okay to cry it is hard and hurts. I had to honestly wait a while to watch this and it still makes me bawl, making the decision in July for our Ziggy wasn't easy for us but we knew it was right for him.

Hi Mary, so sorry the little ones didnt make it but glad you were able to get the 3 siblings to safety. It never gets any easier, been rescuing and advocating for animals since I was a teenager. Going to be 54 in a few weeks and I suffer with lupus, type 2 diabetes, rheumatoid arthritis, asthma, and fibromyalgia. So its rough on me and I cannot do as much as I used to but I could never leave a cat in distress if I can help it. Most newborns/young kittens born to outside cats here dont make it. Many are attacked by raccoons or abandoned by moms. Even if I can get to them, its hard to feed them especially when they wont take it and dont have mom to care for them. Ive lost so many babies I tried to save. But at least we try, whereas they would have died outside in the worst ways. What we do does make a difference, no matter what negative things people say. Not all stories end happily and people should see the nitty grittiness of it all. Kindness goes a long way, even if the outcome isnt good. It all matters when it comes down to it. Will be praying for the 3 little ones and I know you will give them the best care. Now that you are out of school try to rest and take care of yourself. I had to slow down and start taking care of myself with all my health issues going on. If I didnt I probably wouldnt still be here. These little ones need as many people like us as they can get so we need to make sure we are still around for them. Hope you and your family have a blessed Christmas 🎄 🎅 🤶 ⛄ ☃️

I’m so sorry they passed but it seems like you all did everything you could. At least they are not suffering anymore. I am not in cat rescue but in dog and the color thing is the same in dog rescue. “Generic” looking dogs are overlooked for “special/unique/pretty” looking dogs all the time. It’s just so bizarre to me.
