My husband and I have recently committed to getting up at 5 together to have quiet time to get ready and drink coffee together before the kids wake up. It has made such a huge difference for us! We are more relaxed and productive all day because of it. We also are more motivated to get to bed early. It's my new favorite habit.

Elisabeth Reh the goal is 9pm. :) Sometimes it’s not til 10 and then I’m soooo exhausted by that point! It works well for us because we have young children, and they are in bed by 7:30 anyway. We get our time to watch a show or catch up, and we get to be productive and have our coffee in the morning before kids wake up.

I changed my words and my purpose for getting up. How many times had I said: "I have to get up for work in 'x' hours"? Well, I stopped waking up to 'go to work' and started waking up to 'enjoy my day'! I set my alarm to wake up and do something I love: I love to be in my garden! So in the summer I would set my alarm for 5am to go outside to weed or trim my garden at sunrise or just sit in a comfy chair on the porch with my tea and contemplate it's beauty. It's a completely different experience at that hour when the birds are waking up and the day is fresh and coming to life... and in the winter, I 'garden' indoors with my house plants; or do reading and planning for the spring/fall planting. Whatever your 'love' or hobby is; do that which gives you joy, for a bit of time in the morning. It will change your whole outlook AND then you never have to experience the 'oops, I-slept-past-snooze-and-now-I'm-going-to-be-late' rush! Your life will thank you!

That’s normal. In the US, we call that Seasonal Depression. I’m very affected by seasons and the weather. I’m generally happy and productive throughout the year except for in the winter. In New York, a lot of people get depressed because our winter’s are brutally cold and we get less sun so that means less vitamin D 😩

My morning starts at 5AM, I'll do my daily scripture reading and spend few minutes on journal writing while playing some soothing classical music on spotify to start my day. Then I'll go out for a jog then shower when I come back. I'll have simple breakfast then spend some extra 15-30 minutes reading my favorite novel. After that, I'll do my work and study. I don't scroll through social media nor email nor games on my phone in the morning except for alarm and checking the weather. I've been following this routine for a week now and it's pretty nice. I'm much more productive in the morning than in the afternoon~ :)

Having an exercise class to go to every weekday morning at 9 AM has given my life structure. That is what I particularly needed. It's a class that I really enjoy, with people I like, and it's only minutes from my house. Additionally, it only lasts 45 minutes... an hour or more would feel way too daunting for me. Weekends are for sleeping in if I want to, and having a leisurely start to the day. So I begin every day being productive (got my workout out of the way; any active things I do thereafter are a bonus), and when I come home I enjoy a warm shower with all my favorite fragrant products, and then I'm ready to nourish myself well. Before finding this exercise class I'd try my best to get up and get going for a walk, run or bike ride - but I kept procrastinating on my start time till eventually I lost motivation entirely and rationalized that I'd try again tomorrow... or next week... Then I'd be mad and frustrated with myself. So if you're like me and really thrive on structure, that's my advice. Do something you're accountable to, where people will notice if you don't show up, and they'll miss you. Works for me!

I became a morning person after years of being night owl. I found out that being a morning person makes me more productive and I feel better. It took me a year by setting my alarm for 7:30 a.m. Sometimes I would sleep through the alarm, sometimes I would wake up and then go back to sleep, sometimes I would get up and then go back to sleep later. After a while I would get up and stay up and then take a nap later. Now I am getting up and staying up most days with out a nap which I really like. Now I can work on my next goal. I enjoy your videos and your food looks very good. It looks nutritious and delicious. Thank you.

Jody Nagra I get up at 4:45 for work so trust me I feel the same way. If I'm really exhausted and feel like I have to sleep I'll usually SIT on the couch, put my head back and doze for a few minutes. If I lie down it's all over and I'll never sleep at night. I also find it helpful to have a cup of coffee (hot tea, hot chai, etc) and a snack around 3:00. Then I'll eat dinner around 4:30 and by 7:00 I'm starting my routine to get into bed at 8:00 and read for as bit. Keep trying!

I dont think you understand how much I adore your videos and channel. Im sure you're proud of both and I find that itself to be very inspiring. Im actually both, I used to be a hardcore night owl but I've always been a morning person at heart, now I currently wake up at around 5 (prayer time) then just stay awake for the rest of the day when most people in my area go back to bed :) Its so much more beautiful and productive that way I found

I have to agree with what she said about enjoying her time when the world is still quiet; that's one of the things I enjoy about getting up early. Something else that makes me happy is when I look out of my balcony window and see cars driving around, because it's comforting to know that I'm not the only one up so early. It's almost like being part of some tight-knit community or exclusive club.

Hey, I have been recovering from PTSD due which I used to have seizures on a continuous basis and now nightmares. Your vlog has allowed me to introspect and has been highly useful. I have transitioned from being a night owl to a morning person and one thing that worked for me was meditating before I sleep. I sit on my bedroom floor and remove every single thought before I go to sleep. Before I do this routine, I usually have had finished preparing my bullet journal's skeleton for the next day and tasks aligned and have taken a nice green tea to soothe my body. Meditating for 10 mins and stretching and has helped me reduce nightmares and wake up feeling better than before. :) Thank you.

I think that the best of advices from Sadia was: "something to wait for"...You know, it is easy to go to bed early on Christmas evening, because you know that at the morning you have all those presents...so earlier you go and do your sleeping, earlier that morning comes.....LOL, I'm such a child :D

This was so incredibly helpful. I’m in the process of reworking my life and recovering from a stressful, trauma-based flow into one that heals, supports, and invigorates me. Part of this process, I’m noticing, is shifting my wakeup time. So many videos like this paint night owls as lazy or less-than; this one was just, point-blank, an offering to help those consistently create a nourishing routine. I will certainly be taking a LOT of this advice. Thank you!

When I wake up too early I’m just a zombie all day but it’s my goal to wake up at least 15 minutes earlier than my kids (usually around 7 am) so I can have some quiet me time before the morning chaos. I love the idea of sitting in silence for 15 minutes with some soothing tea.
