Nice. I made a slingbow today. I took a Daisy slingshot and shot a hole in the middle of the pad (where you put rocks or marbles in). I had to do that so I could grip the arrow good. I had to take the fletchings off though and I put a bunch of rope around it and made a ball, superglued it, shot it, and it's super accurate now. I put a loop on the end incase I wanted to blowfish with it.

It's a slingbow. It's not a compound, crossbow or a take down bow. Comparing this to those is silly because at no time did I compare it to any of those. I'm not telling anyone to throw their chosen method of slinging arrows in the trash and buy this thing. I'm not saying it's a survival tool. I'm not saying you NEED it. I'm not even telling you you have to buy it. It's. A. Slingbow. I think it's pretty damn cool and it is definitely fun to shoot. I like it and will continue to use it. If it interests you, great! If not, that's OK.

robert lombardo you make a good point about some people not being able to get a firearm, perhaps due to some bad choice's they made and are now a felon i'm guessing. however for $189.97 you can get a very good used compound bow and accessories. remember this sling bow only shoots arrows, no steel ball bearings , marble, or rocks. dave canterberry's sling bow would be a better choice than this one. just my opinion. now if you could own a gun a used single shot 12 ga shotgun would be even better. watch DC's video on the 12ga with the adapters.

Another great review Chris, thank you for all the videos I appreciate what you do. Any chance that you will do a comparison with the Pathfinder School pocket hunter? I watched your review of the pocket hunter but you made no mention of it here. Are they so different they are in classes of their own or did this one just blow away the pocket hunter? I want a pocket hunter and they are cheaper than this new system I would appreciate any feedback to help make a decision on which one to consider. Thanks.

You can also use finger savers with it but most prefer the loop to use a release so that is the standard way we ship it out. Yes the bands are adjustable so you can get a little more draw weight, up to about 65lbs depending on your size and draw length. The Bad Ass Slingshot series brings a new level of excitement and challenge to both bow hunting and bow fishing and does take some practice go get use to but it isn't for everyone. As always we love hearing your feedback so we can continually improve our products! Thanks for the review Chris, it was pretty entertaining if you ask me and I think you did a great job.

Use the wrist strap...open your hand slightly. You are gripping the handle and tourqing the bow. You want the handle to rest in the web and on the meaty part under your thumb. The wrist strap will keep the slingbow from jumping out of your hand. 2nd. Draw back and find a constant anchor point. With the release ur using have the first knuckle touch the base of your ear..back of your jaw. This will help you sight down the arrow a lil easier and give u a constant anchor point. 3rd Don't twist the d loop. Shooting sideways like you are doesn't help keep everything in alignment. Try shooting at ur 1 o'clock instead of 3. Make sure the loop and string stay aligned as much as possible with the bands. Your groups should get tighter. Hope this helps

  • @Primaris12

I am just speculating here because I have never used a sling bow, but I imagine that the wrist loop is there for the same reason you have them on compound bows, and finger loops on take down recurve bows. The hand that is holding the bow grip should be very loose - in fact you should basically have a limp hand. The force of the bow being drawn is what pulls up your hand. You have the wrist loop so that when you release, and the bow lunges forward by itself, you don't drop it. Doing this and letting the bow lunge forward helps greatly with consistency as you don't impart any unnecessary forces on it.

I do traditional archery for a living. If I was you I would find the peak draw weight and get your draw length and use those numbers to get arrows that are the right spine. it is critical to find the right spine. I saw your video and your form is spot on. I am guessing that it is the spine of your arrows. you will get better grouping if the spine is right.

I shoot trad archery, but awhile back I bought a 25lb slingbow from a plus slingshots an I love it! This may or may not be true for your particular slingbow as it is 20lbs heavier, but I would try shooting as light of an arrow as is within reason. Reason is you will get more fps out of it and it would have less drop over distance so it will be easier to shoot farther. A slingbow to me is something fun to play around with, it is by no means the end all be all of arrow shooting devices, but thats not to say that with the right setup for what your hunting that it wouldnt work just fine at appropriate distances.

I wonder if they have bands that will kick up the poundage considering the added weight of broad head hunting blades? I've seen guys on Tube hunting deer with a Cold Steel Boar Spear, from a baited tree stand. Surely this could be used by someone without the physical ability to draw a compound bow. Hi Chris, noticed your target kept tipping forward or backwards. Here's an idea in case you haven't already considered it, fashion a couple of wooden stakes and stick them in the ground. Sharpen both ends and stick your target on top of the spikes, just a suggestion that might save your frustration of resetting the target. Ps...really liked that track that you played, is it one of your favourites? 😀 cheers and all the best from the UK.

Use and make my own sling shots, in UK we call them catapults. they can be fairly accurate and small game lethal out to about 20yds and thats pushing it with large lead shot. For years I practiced field target archery, main bow of choice american flat bow, was a bit of a purist and compounds are really for hunters which is not permited in UK. The slingbow looks good fun for backyard archery, its something thats been tried before many times, and this design looks a winner. The use of theraband elastic is widely used in catapults as you can double or treble up for more power. All that being said, the normal practice of flighting an arrow to a target is best done with a normal longish bow at longer ranges of 30yds or more. Remember, do the same thing every time and practice good form keeping drawing arm straight as you can with your arrow line and as in all shooting, remember to practice proper breathing techniques.Good vid, put on some birdsong tape next time you decide to assault our ears with supermarket musak Chris. I will do the amazon thing for you, as you put out a lot of good interesting stuff for us guys m8.

I don't know what kind of arrows you have, but i would suggest Gold tip arrows. pretty much any arrow from gold tip is very good. i like the traditional gold tip arrows because they look just like wood arrows. Another thing to think about is finding out the right spine on the arrow so you can match it up with your slingbow, which as to do with how many pounds your pulling back. This will help with accuracy. A archery shop will help you with this. I would also put bigger feathers or veins like 4 or 5 inch. i like feathers. but its up to you. you can shoot either because of the whisker biscuit. this is just my 2 cents worth. great video

Become a machine when shooting do everything exactly the same. Get the shortest arrow possible try carbon. Don't worry about bullseye look at group size and arrow shaft direction they should be at same angle depth. If not your not being a mechanical machine. Practice indoors or no wind days. Find a natural locking position that you can remember. Such as position of hand pressing on your cheek bone. Once thing are consistent then home in on bullseye. Hour a day for 3 wks and you'll be grouping 3" or better. That's when the fun begins.

BUT considering the size and cost of the Slingshot Hunter, I am inclined to go with a crossbow instead of the Slingshot Hunter. somebody may have mentioned it already , that wrist sling you need to tighten it up a little so you can just about slip your hand in and out easily , the only purpose it serves , like on compound bows also , is to stop it falling and being damaged should you lose grip of it ....

Maybe you could mount a window dot sight on there to help sight in your shots better, just saying.

That's a really badass little (well, not really little!) slingshot right there. My only question is; is it universal, or are there right handed versions and left handed versions?

It's universal and you can adjust the head so you can get the right angle for your grip and stance. You only need to order the bracket in left or right if you are going to attach a sight or reel for Bowfishing.
