I couldn't stop cracking up at the cheering crowd sound effects, hilarious.
I must admit that's a neat concept, I'll have to make one.
Nice. I made a slingbow today. I took a Daisy slingshot and shot a hole in the middle of the pad (where you put rocks or marbles in). I had to do that so I could grip the arrow good. I had to take the fletchings off though and I put a bunch of rope around it and made a ball, superglued it, shot it, and it's super accurate now. I put a loop on the end incase I wanted to blowfish with it.
Oh damn chris, that's better than some of the other slingbows I've seen,it truly is badass.
groovy tunes.. actually looked all over KZread for similar product reviews.. thank ye jil
It's a slingbow. It's not a compound, crossbow or a take down bow. Comparing this to those is silly because at no time did I compare it to any of those. I'm not telling anyone to throw their chosen method of slinging arrows in the trash and buy this thing. I'm not saying it's a survival tool. I'm not saying you NEED it. I'm not even telling you you have to buy it. It's. A. Slingbow. I think it's pretty damn cool and it is definitely fun to shoot. I like it and will continue to use it. If it interests you, great! If not, that's OK.

robert lombardo you make a good point about some people not being able to get a firearm, perhaps due to some bad choice's they made and are now a felon i'm guessing. however for $189.97 you can get a very good used compound bow and accessories. remember this sling bow only shoots arrows, no steel ball bearings , marble, or rocks. dave canterberry's sling bow would be a better choice than this one. just my opinion. now if you could own a gun a used single shot 12 ga shotgun would be even better. watch DC's video on the 12ga with the adapters.

robert lombardo I had a 65lb bow blow up on me. The riser disintegrated and the limbs smacked me a bit. Still have my head. I wouldn't worry about it.

robert lombardo Go here and see the best compact survival bow.ever. www.goprimalnow.com/ I effed up and got the 60lb limbs on initial purchase.. Bad shoulder injury didn't let me use that right. Bought the 40lb limbs and now I can shoot all day.

Wow this is a fantastic tool, what a great purchase. Went to the website sells for a shade over $200. It is on my bucket list for a day when my pockets are deeper.
that's what I like about you, your always honest, plus you make great videos, keep on
Another great review Chris, thank you for all the videos I appreciate what you do. Any chance that you will do a comparison with the Pathfinder School pocket hunter? I watched your review of the pocket hunter but you made no mention of it here. Are they so different they are in classes of their own or did this one just blow away the pocket hunter? I want a pocket hunter and they are cheaper than this new system I would appreciate any feedback to help make a decision on which one to consider. Thanks.
You can also use finger savers with it but most prefer the loop to use a release so that is the standard way we ship it out. Yes the bands are adjustable so you can get a little more draw weight, up to about 65lbs depending on your size and draw length. The Bad Ass Slingshot series brings a new level of excitement and challenge to both bow hunting and bow fishing and does take some practice go get use to but it isn't for everyone. As always we love hearing your feedback so we can continually improve our products! Thanks for the review Chris, it was pretty entertaining if you ask me and I think you did a great job.

man these things are sweet!!! too bad im too poor to get one been trying for like 3 years to get one lol
Very cool product and great vid. That was the most fun video I think I have seen in a long time.
Use the wrist strap...open your hand slightly. You are gripping the handle and tourqing the bow. You want the handle to rest in the web and on the meaty part under your thumb. The wrist strap will keep the slingbow from jumping out of your hand. 2nd. Draw back and find a constant anchor point. With the release ur using have the first knuckle touch the base of your ear..back of your jaw. This will help you sight down the arrow a lil easier and give u a constant anchor point. 3rd Don't twist the d loop. Shooting sideways like you are doesn't help keep everything in alignment. Try shooting at ur 1 o'clock instead of 3. Make sure the loop and string stay aligned as much as possible with the bands. Your groups should get tighter. Hope this helps
Pretty cool unique archery setup Chris. And I don't even drink anymore, but if I did I would NEVER drink a pina colada thanks to you;-)
I have to get one of those !!! Thats good shooting for just starting out
That puppy is too awesome.... and you are having too much fun...
Excellent video, great fun, informative, and I learned a handy new term *suckage* 😂. You shouldnt be too tough on yourself mate, for someone who is new to archery, your slingbow shooting is very good, and its not easy. Excellent, thanks for sharing.
Hey I have a usmc ka bar knife and I have used everything to try and sharpen it any other ideas to try to get it shap
Good job nice vid man that thing is deadly thankx for showin it off
Chris what type of arrows are you using? I bow hunt prolly 150 days out of the year so I was just curious what brand you bought. I prefer Beamen ics hunter. Your right you cannot compare this to a crossbow or bow but it sure would be fun to try and shoot a doe with!
I'm pretty sure that's not going to replace my compound bow. Nice recreational tool. Good video. Keep 'em coming!
I am just speculating here because I have never used a sling bow, but I imagine that the wrist loop is there for the same reason you have them on compound bows, and finger loops on take down recurve bows. The hand that is holding the bow grip should be very loose - in fact you should basically have a limp hand. The force of the bow being drawn is what pulls up your hand. You have the wrist loop so that when you release, and the bow lunges forward by itself, you don't drop it. Doing this and letting the bow lunge forward helps greatly with consistency as you don't impart any unnecessary forces on it.
LoL. Now that is nice. I'll be looking into one of those come the 1st. Thanks for sharing Chris.
Just picked one up! your vid was helpful and appreciated! the "yays" made me laugh my ass off
Wait what? How could I miss this one? Awesome vid. Maybe an update would be cool. Greetings from Netherland
love the effects men!
LOOOOOOVE the new intro...AND outro!
Nice!!! I made my own by accident before watching any of these videos with my nephew and we have stumbled upon something EPIC. Would like to show you if possible. Also any one hating in comments on you....never pay any mind to, because hey, they did watch the vid.....Good job bro
Great video buddy :)) You killed that Pina Colada Song :D haha
good shooting and a great sling bow , consider keepng the front paracord it may be for a foot rest to pull back those powerful theraband gold flatbands. i liked the music .
one thing i notice (slingbow vs, stickbow) the "natural" cant or tilt is almost opposite.....(I like to stay plumb level when shooting a compound) I think this would make an excellent fishing rig! Great video Chris! love the Pin'en colada part lol
I wanna try the zap bow from flippinout. .. have you tried it?
Pm101... Now filming before a live studio audience...great video. You may want to try a lighter lb arrow and don't pull your arm back when you release. Keep right hand on your cheek when you release. Keep up the great work.
One of my favorite vids of yours! Laughed my ass off when the Pina Colada song came on. Got to be honest more excited to see your breakdown bow review and mods. Great vid and looks like tons of fun.

Thanks. I really like the Spectre-II and will probably get the Primal Gear too.
If advice in comments pisses you off don't read the following. I think you need to slow down and make sure your aiming at the same spot every time. Once you have good groups, then focus on moving it toward the center. Hope it helped, and cool video.
I just started shooting my Compound Bow instinctive (No sight and no release with both eyes on target) and I've lost about 5 arrows doing that , but with more practice you will get better , I can hit a vital shot at 20 yards now
I do traditional archery for a living. If I was you I would find the peak draw weight and get your draw length and use those numbers to get arrows that are the right spine. it is critical to find the right spine. I saw your video and your form is spot on. I am guessing that it is the spine of your arrows. you will get better grouping if the spine is right.
I shoot trad archery, but awhile back I bought a 25lb slingbow from a plus slingshots an I love it! This may or may not be true for your particular slingbow as it is 20lbs heavier, but I would try shooting as light of an arrow as is within reason. Reason is you will get more fps out of it and it would have less drop over distance so it will be easier to shoot farther. A slingbow to me is something fun to play around with, it is by no means the end all be all of arrow shooting devices, but thats not to say that with the right setup for what your hunting that it wouldnt work just fine at appropriate distances.
Run the mic cable inside your shirt, down the back and out the bottom to the transmitter. It will keep it from hanging up on things. I'm a drummer, and do this with my headphones to keep the wire out of the way.
That slingbow is probably better than the pushups I suggested about attitude adjustment over that song, but still not as good as my redhawk 44 magnum. Thanks for showing that cool tool.
This rubber is easy to get. You can add more strip for more power. Its Theraband(Gold), which is used for exercise. We can make several strips out of one band. :))
were u using easton aluminum arrows on some
what would you say the dimensions of the head, handle, and forearm piece to see if it will fit in my bug out bag. btw sweet video and nice shooting. thanks!!
Is the bracket, to the right of the whisker biscuit, a mount for a sight?
I have been a fan of your channel for a while. I hate to ask an off topic question, but did your use of "Escape (The Pina Coloda Song)" have anything to do with the "Guardians of the Galaxy" movie?
Loved the track. Literally pissed myself laughing. Would love to see another video after some practice. I'm sure some time with dave will help. Andy and dave need to check out the sling bow together. A first hand perspective would be awesome. Love the new intro and end logo's. Any chances of me getting Jessica? ;-) Thanks
It looks like a lot of fun. I just want to suggest that you get some sandbags or something to keep it from falling over.
i laughed so hard at the "Yaaaaaaaaaaay" haha
As an Archer and Slingshot person, I have found just using my everyday slingshot with arrows works just fine
Good video man, like the humor, I really hope you don't get a lot of complaints about background noise. People need to realize your not in a controlled environment. Whats your opinion on the pocket shot?
When you draw pick a draw point like the corner of your mouth and use that every time and throw at one pin on your sights and zero it in at 20 yards that will help you be consistent.
love that song. very cool.
FYI the sound FX made me LOL, SERIOUSLY.
I wonder if they have bands that will kick up the poundage considering the added weight of broad head hunting blades? I've seen guys on Tube hunting deer with a Cold Steel Boar Spear, from a baited tree stand. Surely this could be used by someone without the physical ability to draw a compound bow. I'm interested in venison in the freezer, not heads on a wall
Love the Sesame St. crowd cheers.
Hi Chris, noticed your target kept tipping forward or backwards. Here's an idea in case you haven't already considered it, fashion a couple of wooden stakes and stick them in the ground. Sharpen both ends and stick your target on top of the spikes, just a suggestion that might save your frustration of resetting the target. Ps...really liked that track that you played, is it one of your favourites? 😀 cheers and all the best from the UK.
Nice video cool sling bow. I noticed some of your arrows did not fly true. Part of your issues might be unturned arrows. Check out ranch fairy he has a bunch of videos on that. That looks like an amazing slingbow. Enjoy.
Good shooting Chris! Just came across this older video of yours. Looks fun! Do you still use it after 4 years?

Nope. Gave it to someone.
Good job informitive cheers
Practice doesn't make perfect, but a good practice makes it perfect...
way to funny that guy Dave started with Archery, way before he did self reliance!
Might be the audio, but it seems a bit noisy? Im not saying taking big game is impossible but at the very least seems awesome for small game, especially in winter when i dont want to haul a 1000$ bow in the snow. Target shooting looks pretty fun and addictive too! Didnt even know that "thing" existed lol
Use and make my own sling shots, in UK we call them catapults. they can be fairly accurate and small game lethal out to about 20yds and thats pushing it with large lead shot. For years I practiced field target archery, main bow of choice american flat bow, was a bit of a purist and compounds are really for hunters which is not permited in UK. The slingbow looks good fun for backyard archery, its something thats been tried before many times, and this design looks a winner. The use of theraband elastic is widely used in catapults as you can double or treble up for more power. All that being said, the normal practice of flighting an arrow to a target is best done with a normal longish bow at longer ranges of 30yds or more. Remember, do the same thing every time and practice good form keeping drawing arm straight as you can with your arrow line and as in all shooting, remember to practice proper breathing techniques.Good vid, put on some birdsong tape next time you decide to assault our ears with supermarket musak Chris. I will do the amazon thing for you, as you put out a lot of good interesting stuff for us guys m8.
im gona get one of these and set it up for Bowfishing
Thanks Chris
Nice slingshot arrows,,, wou,,, full power.... Awesome power 😎😎😎😎😎😎
nice review, have seen these things and they are really a cool set-up, ya some are going to say blaw-blaw-blaw, but I like'm and like his new head piece he has now for attaching the bands, look forward to more on these slings
Very good video, you show us we can have fun with sling bows ... and do not say you've made crappy shots cause some arrows are not in the center ... they are perfectly grouped that's the principal
it looks just cools , but not sure will do the job .....by the way , how much it cost to get this one ?
you have to try the Scorpyd stuff, I have a feeling you will find even the lower Lb. strung model SICK! happy pineapple hunting.😉
R u thinking of making ur own arrows or continuing to buy arrows
I wonder if there are bow and arrows in the getto.
did you did you know there is also an attachment and special Arrow and arrow tip with real either old school or traditional that allows you to hunt fish with an arrow with a slingshot
When the song kicked in, I became a fan.

I don't know what kind of arrows you have, but i would suggest Gold tip arrows. pretty much any arrow from gold tip is very good. i like the traditional gold tip arrows because they look just like wood arrows. Another thing to think about is finding out the right spine on the arrow so you can match it up with your slingbow, which as to do with how many pounds your pulling back. This will help with accuracy. A archery shop will help you with this. I would also put bigger feathers or veins like 4 or 5 inch. i like feathers. but its up to you. you can shoot either because of the whisker biscuit. this is just my 2 cents worth. great video
Not bad shooting for a beginner Chris. Don't sell yourself too short. The song pick, LOL. You are special kind of twisted bro.
I like it!
I prefer fluffy flights on slingbow arrows and also lose the knock on the arrow get proper ball knocks for slingbows because you can mount a pouch and shoot 12mm lead for small game and keep the arrows for big game
It would be cool if someone put a set of sights on a slingshot like a compound bow
OK, you win, I want one now. Backyard slingbow practice, set to music, is just a formula that I cannot overcome. Resistance is futile. I surrender.
this sling bow is awesome
Very cool. I have a homemade one it's lots of fun but not very accurate or powerful. about 40 to 50 pounds eBay hunter slingshot with a whisker biscuit attachment. It's good to know this is out there
I noticed that your arrows kept tilting upwards after leaving the wiskar biscuit
btw...we have no complaints about the song...all three of my boys started singing along!!! Hubby would've too but he was still asleep lololol Damn...now I want a pina colada. Ughhhhh.
looks to me like you whisker biscuit is mounted a tad low. fletchings might be hitting the frame. causing arrows to be tail high.
good video cheers brother
That looks like it falls in the gotta hav it cuz its just to cool. I laughed pretty hard at that song too good one chris
Put a tiny orange bullseye at dead center of your target. Focus on hitting the tiny spot. It might not hurt to completely cover the target with white plastic and put your own tiny bullseye on it. Your accuracy will increase.
You should use some para-cord or string to stabilise the target
Become a machine when shooting do everything exactly the same. Get the shortest arrow possible try carbon. Don't worry about bullseye look at group size and arrow shaft direction they should be at same angle depth. If not your not being a mechanical machine. Practice indoors or no wind days. Find a natural locking position that you can remember. Such as position of hand pressing on your cheek bone. Once thing are consistent then home in on bullseye. Hour a day for 3 wks and you'll be grouping 3" or better. That's when the fun begins.
Try a hip quiver to hold the arrows.
Yes, I realize that this video is about the Slingshot Hunter and not comparing it to crossbows. BUT considering the size and cost of the Slingshot Hunter, I am inclined to go with a crossbow instead of the Slingshot Hunter. Some crossbows are about the same cost and have a higher velocity and are easier to shoot. But thanks for showing me something that I didn't know existed.
What's better the sling shot or the bow
Thumbs up I like that! That's awesome man I wish I had that back in my day! Definitely would of shot sum tires out on dads truck lol ...(by mistake) lol
somebody may have mentioned it already , that wrist sling you need to tighten it up a little so you can just about slip your hand in and out easily , the only purpose it serves , like on compound bows also , is to stop it falling and being damaged should you lose grip of it ....
Look into something other than a back quiver, it takes waaaay to long to reload to your next arrow... refer to Lars Anderson
Does anyone know his email his one on his google + ain't working
I just might get me one of those!! That IS. Bad ass
Maybe you could mount a window dot sight on there to help sight in your shots better, just saying.
That's a really badass little (well, not really little!) slingshot right there. My only question is; is it universal, or are there right handed versions and left handed versions?
@whatthesnarkwithmelissawoo7587
9 жыл бұрын
It's universal and you can adjust the head so you can get the right angle for your grip and stance. You only need to order the bracket in left or right if you are going to attach a sight or reel for Bowfishing.
pretty cool
Dear chris; it has a bracket for sights PUT SOME SIGHT PINS ON IT
