Slingshot or Slingbow What Should I Take on History's Alone All Stars (87 days Episode 11)

But i have been doing a lot of thinking since i got home form my 87 days Alone in Patagonia with History channels Alone Season 3. When i Go out on Alone All Stars Im Going to need to do better. The slingshot i brought was sufficient and even got me one Bird. But next time I'll be up Against Dave and Allen And they never quit. I need to produce as much food as possible And I can't live without my slingshot ;) I think having a slingbow is part of the answer. But not the whole answer. A few people chose to bring bows on Alone . And yet no one has use that bow to provide for themselves Not for lack of trying. But the opportunities are few and far between. Simpleshot slingshot Company makes a slingshot called the "Hammer". The Hammer is Not your average slingshot. It is a masterpiece of modern technology mixed with the simplest principles Of the slingshot Art. The Hammer has the capability Of being a Slingbow and shooting arrows As well as Working like a regular slingshot. This half slingbow half slingshot Is the and best of both worlds. And As I said before Most of the answer to what kind of slingshot I should bring on History's Alone All-Stars. If only i could take all my favorite slingshots. Of course that's not very fair to say I've never met a slingshot I didn't like.

Growing up, I was always drawn to the sling shot. Especially after playing The Legend of Zelda ocarina of time. I was and still am the weird kid who had an interest for the wilderness, but lived more in a town than anything. Me messing around, finally embracing that call, and watching your videos helped me realize. There's other cool weirdos out there like me lol thank you Zach.

Fowler: I hate that my arrows always get busted. Also Fowler: Uses arrows to hold up ping pong balls as targets for slingshot.

Bring 6 broad head arrows as their use requires that type of arrowhead and longer range accuracy. The fishing arrows are for only a few feet away and make these, and their arrowheads, from materials you find in the field. Paint your arrows in colors that make them stand out and are easier to find when you miss your target.

Slingbow. Absolutely. With the modifications you're considering, it'll give you versatility to get any food. Keep having fun daily, I think that was a key to success for you because it kept you mentally strong! Recommend: Upgrading to the Metal E-Tool because it is more durable than the SF Shovel. You can sharpen the E-Tool to match the SF Shovel. It is a stronger lever for prying logs and rocks, the SF Shovel will break first. The different head angles allows you to dig a more vertical hole for traps, Use as a climbing axe, and useable as a hook for retrieving something or as a grappling hook. Yes the SF Shovel is an impressive thrower, but now you'll have more fun with the Slingbow. Recommend : Modifying your Multi-Tool with another capability you didn't have out there...another File, a Backup Fire Steel? Just a couple of perspectives from a retired Army guy and a fan of what you accomplished. You'll do great when the All-Stars come back!

Sir I love you channel. I have shot a sling bow before it had a name. To shoot an arrow out of a sling shot glue an gold tee in a carbon arrow it centers very well and a whisker biscuit can be used on a wrist rocket and it shoots very well and if you need to shoot a rock just pull the whisker biscuit out of the way. I am sure it has enough power to take deer size pray. Maybe bigger. Good luck.

A home would make it easier. I spent three weeks shy of a year in the wilderness with twelve pound of gear, plus what was on my belt and in my pockets, and all I had for cover was a pair of G.I. ponchos. I couldn't build any type of real shelter because I was traveling almost constantly between four states, but I sure missed having something like that more than once. Fortunately, I didn't have to hit anything with a slingshot because I did have a rifle. Next time I did anything like that I built a small cabin, about fifteen by twelve, with a fireplace, immediately. I didn't get back to it as often as I wished, but when I was able to get back, it felt like a mansion. I added a second room later, and then it really felt huge. My experience is that the best way to stay anywhere for a long, long time is to love every second you're there. Anything that helps you love it is a big plus. Just me, but I'll take a bow, and you can have the slingshots and sling bows.

Golf tees in the back of the arrows. That's what someone said in a comment on another video I saw about these sling bows. So, very much like what you drew there really and yes, you can just shoot it from the same pocket, no changing anything. He said they are very accurate and it doesn't affect the arrows negatively at all.

Dude..... dude..... Listen to me.... Please. A slingshot is not what you need to get food and win. Really not trust me. You can get something much smaller that doesn't weight much and it'll get ya all the food you need. It's called an Amazon's account. I know.... I know... You're going to say that you need something to be able to go on the net and cel phones, laptops, etc are not allowed. But remember one thing... That famous jacket you hacked and they allowed it. So do the same again... An Amazon account and an embedded cel phone in a jacket. BTW, I'll take 15% of your winnings as consultant fees. Thanks :)

The best idea iv seen for a arrow for SS pouch use is.When using the store bought arrows, remove the nock and epoxy a golfball tee into the hole. This lets you pinch the tee just the same as ball ammo and you dont have to alter your release nor your cheek point . You could heat and soften the arrow nock and mushroom it out as well but the tee is more consistent and cheap to boot . They even come in Neon green and pink plus lend to glow paint too.

What if you took the arch things that hold the rubber “bands” and you permenatly bind it to the handle and take the removable part and put that onto the arrow holder and you can have a normal sling but you can attach and detach the arrow holder👍🏻! Just a sugestion

.44 caliber balls (.454), designed for black powder revolvers, will dramatically increase the power of your slingshot and give you the ability to take humanely harvest larger variations of small game, varmints, etc.

Pull the nock out of the (carbon) arrow and insert a wooden golf tee. You can grip the golf tee in a slingshot pouch really well!

I know it’s very late but to shoot arrows out of my sling shot I glue then sinew in a golf tee into the opening of a cane or aluminum arrow... you could possibly drill the back of your sprus to accept the golf tee it works very well and I hope to see you give it a try!

If you take the knock off an aluminum arrow you can glue a golf tee in the end and will work in the pouch

Looks good. If I can make one suggestion, don't grip the handle. Open your fingers and just let the handle push between your thumb and forefinger. When you grip a bow it causes you to shake. Opening up your fingers will stop some of the sway. Your aim looks good, but it might help make it even better. If you watch the Olympic archers you'll see the bow drop after they take a shot, that is why. Good luck!

Have you thought of leaving your gear out to remove some of the human scent or using something to mask the scent before you heard back out on alone again? Would this help prevent animals from getting the drop on you?
