Autumn Rail Report at Wood Hill Park.58

Ойын-сауық

Just a quick autumn update to show the progress on the layout.
The billboards are by an online supplier calling themselves Buntersyard which can quite easily by found on that online auction site.
Don't forget, if you want to see what I'm currently working on and stay up to date with the channel you can follow me on my Facebook page below.

Enough about me.. your somebody I would have liked to know. Good God I would and still like to know you in person. Because you think like I do as far as ( modeling railways ) is concerned for it to be true to life in scale ) which is what the motivation is to continue with the hobby making it closest to the real thing.

A little suggestion for you Graham, for the road on the other side of the level crossing; use a google streetview image, to extend the road further. But a great update, great to see another layout set in the same era as mine!

With a bit of adaptation Graham, you can extend the gantry's width by splicing two lengths together (well, 2x2 lengths joined as each cross-member is made of two sections). I did this on my layout when I needed to span 5 or 6 tracks. I've taken the plunge with HM7000 sound decoders too now, having gained the knowledge and confidence from your previous video. As you've discovered, they do only work properly with the power banks, otherwise they keep cutting out, try to restart and do strange things! I must say, apart from the setting up glitches sometimes, they are super decoders for the price. I do the setting up without the power bank attached to the decoder initially, and then plug it in when the decoder is sound programmed and ready. This makes it easy because during the sound downloads you have to un-power it a couple of times, which is really awkward with the stay alive fitted. The Hornby speaker does sound good once sealed in the supplied holder/enclosure, mainly the biggest one.. Just make sure it's fitted airtight in the enclosure. Roads and Rails do some mega bass mini speakers 20x20x7mm which fit in the Bachmann 37s and 47s and sound pretty good too, not pricey either! Anyway Graham, I hope you fully recover soon and thank you for this episode update, great stuff. Regards Julian

Thanks for all that feedback Julian, great to hear you're getting on well will the hm7000 system. Do often source speakers from roads and rails. Got all different speakers in my loco's, usually the biggest I can fit in. Only stuck with one large Hornby speaker in my A1 Pacific. Doesn't sound great but not much room for anything else. The best speaker I've found so far is a mega bass, but it is too big for most loco's. Atb Graham 👍

@@WHP1980s I tend to only use the HM7000 locos set to DCC once programmed as the appt seems to be a bit glitchy at times with multiple locos operating. Yes indeed, I know the large megabass one you mean, square with the metal shiny cone. I managed to get one in a Heljan class 47, with some server sanding off along the edges, rounding them to fit against the body shell's roof. I fitted it together with a Hornby TTS and believe it or not it is the best sounding loco I have, it sounds incredible! You'd never know a class 47 could sound so good with a deep rumbling bass undertone. It truly transforms it. Cheers matey.
