First and best track, fantastic guitar, classic riff and sound.Mr Briggs certainly knew what he was doing
The Oz/Kiwi music scene in the early 70's till Mid 80's was amazing. Two reasons, there was a band in every pub playing till 3am and Molly...
Glad to hear this original censored version around the lyrics “cocaine cough” which they weren’t allowed to say on Countdown. Not sure what he actually says in this version. All other KZread clips seem to have replaced the audio with the actual release where he says “cocaine cough” so thanks for leaving this censored version untouched, mostly so I can try and figure out what he says !
Awesome
What a choice snippet of nostalgia! Where the bloody hell did you find that? How good was Coxy!! Dyso

Countdown. This show should be filed under the same category of a building being heritage listed. The maker of many many bands. some of which are still around today.
My favourite band of all Time with dragon a close second
Well done Coxy you bueaty
James Reyne with broken wrists caused by accident later described in the song 'Indisposed.'
This was aired in 1979. I remember watching it the week after my father died when I was 15...he died in September 1979. As for people raving on about who the producer and engineer were....do you think they were actually playing and recording during the filming sequences? It's tv guys...it's a "documentary" for Countdown after the song was recorded, pressed and had been distributed and presumably was a hit.

I watched it too, in Perth. 1979 the year that brought us Skylab & Miss Universe
Thanx heaps
2:50 - the guy throwing a cigarette upwards into his mouth, great catch!
2019. Dirty old Coxy. About as civilized as a dogshit in a handbag. Good work.
the RIGHT way to make music

Sam Cox...hardly the right way to make music...this film clip is a charade with none of the people apart from the band who were actually involved in the making of this record represented truthfully or fairly in this rubbish video
is the host COXY from the postcard show???
Did we used to make things like records in Australia back then?
James dismisses the Crawl these days, tho they have got a place in Oz Rock history
Should’ve hired Tommy “one take” Emmanuel to do the guitar parts…
*They can bang on explaining and showing us all the technical wizzbangery in the studio - and yet not a single explanation is given as to why the vocal track remains completely INDECIPHERABLE*

hey spectrum analyser display and motozized fader control in a recording studio in 1979??its a lie this video must be 1982...

I couldn't believe I saw motorized faders either in 79, but I have seen a lot of 79 footage and this looks exactly like 79.. but you've most likely figured that out in the last 9 years since you made this vintage comment itself
According to David Briggs, producer, all the people shown during the "so called" making of this video and single are fake. None of them were involved at all in the making of the single nor the video. Just saying what I have read he said.....

Um, ok..... So what is the producer saying? That James Reyne and the boys are only posers and not in the band? Cos obviously they were shown in the "making of".......

We have no local talent here in Australia no wonder the Aria charts are always flooded with overseas releases
