    Nice work. First time I've really heard anyone play the SWAM collection as an ensemble. I'm going to start experimenting to see if I can put together a decent group of 6-12 strings before I try to make anything larger. Anything in particular you would suggest to improve the sound/realism etc.?

    I’m using a Mac Pro with 8 cores and 32G RAM. You don’t really need much power because you could freeze tracks; and not much RAM because you don’t need to load massive libraries. I’m developing more content and will be launching this channel properly very soon.

    actually it does not eat that much as you expect. OK I now got an AMD Ryzen 9 X3900x and I got the full orchestra running on it as well as VSL MIR PRO. I must admit though that I have only 4 players of each string section since I mix them with my sample library. The ensemble strings do not convince me yet but I heared they work on an ensemble product already.

    I haven't yet tried it to see first hand, but I've always thought that it would be a pain working with ensemble sample patches if one ever wanted to do divisi scoring that is complicated and explicit, like in Strauss's Also Sprach Zarathustra. It's nice to know that this is an option.

    Wonderful work Rohan. Can you share your process? Do you use a wind controller or keyboard?

  • @RohanDeLivera

    @RohanDeLivera

    7 ай бұрын

    Hello - I do use a breath controller, it's the best way to emote / perform cc11, everything else is on a Linnstrument. That allows the controller variance the ensures each instance is a truly different performance. And finally, each section is staged and carefully to give the impression of the acoustic space.

    Sounds pretty good but be careful running the mains too hot. You are clipping on a few hits, crunching out the transients and diminishing the impact. Set up a good limiter on the stereo out bus and lower that fader.
