Are these the new Audio Modeling String Sections Strings? By the way, you used to have a video online that was a Physical Modeling Strings vs Live Strings Video. I think you've taken the video down but I was curious to know, what was was that piece a rendition of? I've been looking for the original composition for years and I just don't remember the name of the composition. Could you please provide some details? thanks.

Hi - no these are multiple instances of the solo instruments. The sectional instruments are awesome. That video was taken down because it no longer reflected my performance ability with these instruments.

@@RohanDeLivera I totally understand I appreciate your response as well thank you. However what was the arrangement of? It sounded like an excerpt from a well known composition piece. Could you tell me what the arrangement was so I can find the original online somewhere?
Beautiful! This is a remarkable demonstration of the SWAM violin. Could tell us about the signal chain you used to place the instrument in the hall and get a realistic spatial impression? Also, did you use EQ or any other processing to improve the tone of SWAM’s sound? Many thanks for any tips you have to offer, and keep up the beautiful work.

Hello, Rohan! This is wonderful! I came across your video while trying to find MIDI files/examples specifically where SWAM instruments were used. I am having a lot of difficulty finding this online! I'm trying to find how best to emulate things like expression properly so that the instruments sound realistic, as I have not been successful on my own. If it's not too much trouble, do you think you could share some of the MIDI notation from any of your music, like from these mockups? I would be extremely grateful to see something like this!

How in the world do you get the Vibrato to automatically go up when you play a note? or is that done in post production?
@RohanDeLivera9 ай бұрын
Vibrato is mapped to aftertouch and is triggered by the amount of pad pressure on the Linnstrument. I’ve set quite an exponential pressure curve. Yes it was real time and part of the expression of this performance.

Hello - I do use a breath controller, it's the best way to emote / perform cc11, everything else is on a Linnstrument. That allows the controller variance the ensures each instance is a truly different performance. And finally, each section is staged and carefully to give the impression of the acoustic space.

Hi Rohan - really fantastic performance! I'm curious if you have any experience controlling vibrato via pitch bend vs the built in SWAM vibrato depth and rate parameters mapped to CCs? The sound of your vibrato is quite realistic, but from a real-time performance standpoint, I often find myself wanting to vibrate my fingers on my keyboard, similar to how a cellist would do so on a fingerboard, and its seems that the Linnstrument would be well suited to this. Also curious if you have any experience with the Erae touch, as this is another controller I have been looking at. Thanks!

Hey Michael - I used SWAM's vib on this one. Vibrato is easy on Linnstrument but my technique isn't good enough to get convincing vib particularly when fingering difficult passages. After touch was much easier.

I haven't yet tried it to see first hand, but I've always thought that it would be a pain working with ensemble sample patches if one ever wanted to do divisi scoring that is complicated and explicit, like in Strauss's Also Sprach Zarathustra. It's nice to know that this is an option.
