  • @TiagoNugentComposer

    @TiagoNugentComposer

    3 жыл бұрын

    Honestly i can't really see a reason why anyone would buy Areia over CSS besides weirder articulation/sound design. The legato and consistency of CSS is just so much better.

  • @5ammy13

    @5ammy13

    3 жыл бұрын

    @@TiagoNugentComposer I agree. As a user if CSS I just can't see how this legato beats CSS. But at the same time, when you look at tracks from like Thomas Bergersen, or other epic music, you never see long flowing legatos. The legatos in Areia work for that kind of music, but in terms of legato CSS is unbeatable so far. CSS has got a bit of a darker tone, while these strings sound really great out of th box. That's probably the only advantage I can think of... Also, I heard Jaeger is going to get a free update... So, the strings would certainly be improved, and I predict they will implement the 2nd Violins technique there as well. Oh and the engine is gonna get an upgrade. They would like to standardize their gui and engine I'm guessing.

  • @DJLA

    @DJLA

    3 жыл бұрын

    Actually I have been comparing them directly today. CSS has a softer attack so is my goto for writing dramatic stuff. Areia has a harder attack and is cleaner so I will be loading that for big epic tracks. I am set because I have both, but TBH they both work the opposite way round too, thats just what I am going to do :)

    3 жыл бұрын

    @@DJLA yeah I agree. I think at least for me, CSS is great and works both ways, especially the classic legato patch. Also, I know that CSS and Jaeger both will be getting updates soon so I would definitely want to wait for those. I have Jaeger for the dry layering as you mentioned Daniel, so I feel I might have to pass on Areia. Can't wait for those updates though. Gonna be good I hope 😁

    Thank you Daniel for this extensive review of Audio Imperia Areia, what a great sound library. I've been following you with a lot of interest for a while now because you often play pieces of music that touch me and besides that I also learn a lot from you. What I regret is that sometimes you are a bit derogatory about certain pieces of music you play, like for example the piece on 33:22 (kind of band or brothers melody). It may sound like the same 'WW2 shit', but isn't this true for almost all contemporary music? Most simple (recognizable) melodies can evoke the most beautiful emotions and that's what music is all about, isn't it? I think it's such a shame because as far as I'm concerned you're a gifted composer and this way the music you play and people get knocked down right away. Further only compliments about your youtube channel.

    Areia is an expansion to Jaeger. It expands the articulations and features stuff like perfomance patches as well as the modern mix that is pre-processed. Also reverb is turned on by default just like for Nucleus, but the samples are just as dry afaik. Generally in terms of aggressiveness Nucleus, Jaeger and Areia should be identical.

    yeay another string library,nothing new here,its been done by sonuscore the orchetstra and with more possibillities to change your sound,5 slots,arpegiators and ADSR's,and most of all,it doesnt contain just strings,maybe the sounds are better,but the price for just one group of instruments is too high,ill stick with the orchestra complete and elysion :-) another one is AI symphonic,wich resembles elysion in what it can do,but also more pricy,and the mention of AI is confusing,because its not artifficial intelligence but ARP intelligence,for the low instruments i have monster low winds from cinesamples,and lmusca from VS,nice breakdown Daniel
