Nice review! I've found that turning down the sample delay knob to the minimum in the advanced menu really helps in giving you a more complete sound of the samples, including the legato transitions. Although you'll have to compensate for a huge delay, you don't get any samples cutting off a bit by default.

Great observation.
Always enjoy your detailed sample library reviews Christopher! I can see this library being used for many different applications. If you don't mind me asking what program do you use to capture audio from Logic Pro? I've been using OBS but I feel like it doesn't have the best audio quality when doing screen recordings. Thanks a lot!

I don’t believe there is any portamento!
There is a 2nd violin simulation in Violin patch (also Sordino and Niente function)

Yes, I’m aware thanks! Just noting that there are no separately recorded 2nd violins. But the simulation is a great feature to have!

Hm, not too impressed. Of course it's not actually bad or anything. Maybe it is because I'm already well covered with bread and butter string libraries and don't really know what else I'm looking for in such libraries. The legato isn't outstanding, but I liked some patches, e.g. the pizzicato. Thanks for the walkthrough!

Audio Imperia will be releasing an update to Areia shortly, that will offer more control over the Legato Transition, which will help make the transition smoother. Actually this feature will be added to all their libraries.

Hey! Really depends on what you need the library for. CSS: great for slower and romantic passages, lots of lush vibrato and smooth legato Areia: bright detailed strings, great for standing out in a mix, suited for trailer, pop, and uptempo cinematic contexts
