The Netherlands financial institutions have decided to remove ATM's from smaller towns/villages. All to do with cost reducting they say. All together it is a step towards digital currency but the blame was put on less usage of the machines and often the ATM's were part of a (small) bank office in those towns. So big banks trying to save a penny, making it harder for many people, mainly elderlies, to get cash money. Criminals don't care where they get their money and Germany is within reach, especially with a fast car. Audi's are preferred mainly because its Quattro system (4-wheel drive) in combination with big cargo space (station wagon/estate).

Audis are not only preferred for their 4 wheel drive and estate/ station wagon type but they are also a perfect sleeper. If you take off the RS4/ RS6 numbers off the back of the car they blend in well. Not to mention they are extremely fast and agail.

When I used to live in Germany to help my friend with his suite makeover, there was one explosion in the city where I lived with him, and the ATM's were under a actual house where some people were living. The house got so damaged that they had to move out and live in a hotel until the insurance gave them the money for the repair. 3 months later during Christmas, 2 cities away from the previous robbery, there was another explosion type of robbery where they probably put too much explosive or gas into the ATM that it made the building collapse. Luckily for them, the ATM that was near the window was still good enough to loot the money. It's definitely a dangerous activity and I personally would rather use the jackpot type of attack to steal the money instead of blowing up stuff and risk other people from getting hurt. After all, as far as mx friend told me, who works with ATMs at a big bank company in Germany, most of those machines run Windows XP Professional and they're slowly upgrading them to Windows 7 Embedded which is still not good enough.

@@andreyt1436 jackpot attack is basically hacking those shitty Windows ATM's and either making them spit out money or changing the values in the software so that if you want to get 10€ bill out of the ATM, you would get like 2x 500€ or 2x 100€ bills instead. Now for example my bank's ATM allows me to withdraw up to 100€ with the option of selecting if I just want a 100€ bill or if I want some other ones like 2x 50€ or 10x 10€ bills. Now with that jackpot attack, I could withdraw 100€ and select that I want to have that 100€ payed out in 5€ bills instead and since the ATM was hacked, it would spit out a lot of 500€ bills. Some other method in Poland was that people would use stolen credit cards, enter wrong pin and if they would select to just withdraw like 10pln, it would spit out the entire cash register and act as if it only took 10pln. To be clear, everything seen in movies about jackpotting a ATM is just a complete Hollywood Magic.. The money won't come flying out from the ATM after putting a electro magnetic field generator next to the keypad or connecting a BlackBerry to the ATM through the headphonejack in the ATM and some magic MiniUSB to 3.5mm jack adapter 😂

Attach a cord that allows them to sync their device to the ATM’s computer. 4. Use a keyboard or device to access the ATM’s computer. 5. Install the ATM Malware. 6. Activate Ploutus with an activation ID. 7. Send a command to execute Ploutus to dispense cash. 8. Collect cash with money mule.

this be similar but a larger scale of the atm robberies that sweden had between 2005-2015 if my memory is correct. among those one of the biggest the EU (or world seen) being the G4S cash depo heist. sweden after that started to deploy shocksensitive ATMs aswell as an highly upped security around everything regarding cash transports and reserves.

That's probably because Sweden is largely cashless now, where most people pay with card and the need for hard cash is much lower than before. Where as Germany seems to stay far behind the rest of europe when it comes to cashless society. They mostly seem to use cash, which means their ATMs must have more cash than those of sweden or any other european country.

I think I could say some stuff about this since I actually know someone involved in this type of criminality. First of all the Audi gang isn't 'Dutch' it's mostly Dutch-Moroccan (Moroccans born in the Netherlands), and even more specific I would say that about 80% of these guys *audi-gang* are from the suburbs of Utrecht city. The most famous technique wasn't the gas blow-up but it was the semtex pizza method, this is/was the most loved method of blowing up these ATM machines. The gas method was actually a liability because it took extra afford to pull it off and it had also extra risks! Because in the recent years it has become super hard to come across semtex in the Dutch black market most of these guys started to resort to gas blow-ups. Now a new method is being used which is simply DIY bombs, mostly used from Cobra6 fireworks in which DIY explosives are made with the powder of Cobra6 firework explosives. The audi cars are not stolen by the 'plofkrakers' themselves, there are special gangs who specialize in the theft of audi cars. These guys are active all around the Netherlands.
