Astrophotography: How to post process Orion and Horsehead Nebula (Photoshop)

Hi folks,
Finally, some clear skies after two months of clouds. I immediately decided to image the well-known Orion and Horsehead nebulae. In this video I show my integrated images as well as an overview of the workflow I used to capture and post process my data. Thanks for watching and feel free to comment!

NICE !! Thanks for the video and for sharing all that useful information. It's clear that I need to learn how to use layers. I'm just starting out and you answered some questions. I look forward to seeing more of your videos.

AWESOME me and my dad just got our first Dobsonian telescope 12” and even with the somewhat bright skies near our house we can still see this nebula it’s amazing to see it in person (excuse my noob terminology)

Wow, congratulations, they are great pictures! Even more remarkable because of the light pollution conditions. I have always been very drawn to the Horse Head Nebula and I would one day love to get a great picture of it. If I could get one half as good as yours I will be very happy!! Right now I am just bamboozled by all the technical photographic terms but hopefully I will get a better understanding later. What telescope did you use?

Hi and thanks. It took me a couple of years to get to this level. The telescope I used was a TS 80mm f/6 photoline APO refractor. If you're looking for a telescope I've made a video on what I think are decent beginner level telescopes. kzread.info/dash/bejne/fqGMkrGkiKvVg7w.html and I have some info on my website on how to start with astrophotography. Just take it one step at the time and enjoy the ride :-). www.astroforumspace.com

Hi Gary, avx is doing its job. As long as you do not overload it with over 10kg of equipment :-).
