You can still be a decent western weightlifter in this life. Powerlifting builds a pretty good base for weightlifting strength-wise. You just have to spend a few months to a year working on mobility flexibility and technique. If you’re willing to take a step back you’ll become a weightlifter by this time next year! I made the switch a year ago after 5 years of powerlifting and have never looked back.

rubenaunet frequency is useful only for technical mastery. Frequency is a subset of volume and lifters of this caliber train to avoid volume as volume effects the connect tissue and muscles. These athletes do not want to lessen their ability to perform high intensity, well executed, and fast reps through volume. They train hard.intensity is the underlying principle.

  • @RustyIsScared

@kevin patel they train very high intensity yes but also everyone has in common the frequency, squatting 3-7 even 10x a week. ive been coached myself by clarence kennedy and even for me he made a very high frequency intesity program, maxing every week, squating 4-5x a week etc, and it deffo works.

Not really into weightlifting (I do powerlifting), but I figure I could achieve elite levels if I put in the work. After changing up my routine to high frequency training, my latest squat is a 180kg back squat at 72kg body weight with creatine water weight. Could definitely cut below that. I figure I could milk current programming and eventually achieve a 220kg squat in a year or so naturally. Currently adding 2.5 to 5kg increase every week. And if I was to theoretically take PEDs, that could net me atleast another 30kgs in strength which will put me at atleast 250kgs back squat at around mid 70's kg bodyweight, 175cm. I have tiny wrists so not built for strength but work my ass off everyday in the gym. If I can do it, anyone can with the work ethnic.

Lifting weights is quite different from many other activities that you cannot really work too hard or you'll be penalized. A lot of the strongest men are obese; just how hard can you work when you're obese? The answer is this: not very hard. Marathon runners may run for hours a day and objectively speaking that's working hard, while lifting weights is much more subjective. The actual amount of time spent is quite small compared to the time sitting down in the gym. Where ever you end up don't blame yourself because genetics play a huge part. The blame game frame will lead you to walking around as a 30 year old man feeling like a 50 year old with clicky joints and bulging discs only because some fat blob preached about work ethic online. Don't put all your eggs in the weight sport basket.

People talk about lifting too heavy at a young age is bad for them. Wolf's law, your bones will adapt to the pressure they're giving overtime. Why do people see this as taboo but not being overweight, Its still a force on your body and its in longer intervals than weight training. Im 15 and lift decently heavy but I haven't experienced any skeletal or muscular problems. For those wondering how much I lift. Bench-255lbs Squat-330lbs Deadlift-365lbs Clean-155lbs @155lbs bodyweight

Your bones do get stronger but that's not the argument; unless you get in a car accident or something extreme it's hard to wreck up your bones in a way that's visible in an X-ray. 15 is extremely young. I started getting smart in the gym when I hit 30 and I have had the best gains of my life since I stopped using heavier weights than I need and used good form instead. Have not done a bench, squat or a deadlift in years. As you get older, you start having changes in your body such as bulging discs; intervertebral disc can be tought of as cushion pillows between the vertebrae of the spine; when they herniate they release a substance, sort of like a leak in a tank, that aggravates nearby nerves. Most elderly people have bulging discs but oftentimes they do not produce symptoms. However, the pain you can get from a herniated lumbar disc via sciatica is one of the worst pains a human being can realistically expect to endure and the way you can get that injury is by doing lifts that force you to bend forward at the spine such as bent over rows, deadlifts and back squats. I've known tough men who were rendered completely helpless and pale as ghosts from the pain. My only advice is this: bigger weight does not equal more strength but it equals more wear and tear on your body. You don't need massive weights to strengthen and grow your muscles if you simply plan your routine intelligently.

There are many kinds of strength. The most harmful myth in the strength community is that "hard work" gets you massive results. Often less is more and genetics are crucial. People should compare themselves to their former selves instead of people who are given a free genetic lunch and get to start off from a completely different foundation. Everyone has a limit but if one guy benches 300 pounds on his first day in the gym and the other benches 150 you know that their ultimate maximum limit at the end of the rainbow won't be the exact same. The people in this video will feel like 60 in the morning by the time they are 35 and unless you have the genetics to do what they do and compete on that level, you might not want to break your body down just to chase a dream that was not meant for you. Lifting bodybuilding style (not throwing weights around with maximum body english) is good for all men but there are many other fascinating things in life and one of those things just might be the thing you were made for.

That's not a complete answer. How strong you can get can be deduced from where you start out. The strongest people in the world were already absurdly strong relative to their age, weight or sex when they started out. By the time people mature into their 30's or what not they start to realize that explosive body english lifting is horrible for the body unlike controlled bodybuilding and they won't have much to show for it if they did not have genetic talent to begin with. The world's strongest woman Becca Swanson was already deadlifting well more than 200 pounds starting out as a young girl; most grown women will never lift that. Dorian Yates one of the most succesful bodybuilders of all time was reportedly benching 300 when just starting out in the gym; a weight most men will never reach.

You can possibly deadlift, clean, and squat the weights that 60kg< categories are doing, but no way in hell you can anyone starting as an adult can reach their relative strength and snatch weight.
