The most competitive Arnold ever , hope Mateusz or Thor win it

I will be surprised to see either of them on the podium...Hooper and Stoltman got 1 and 2...its a fight for 3rd place

I think Hooper can win the competition, without winning a single event.

Let's hope King Toffee gets his win. If his axle is back to good he may just do it. Having said that if I was a betting man Mitch would be the clear pick

I agree Thor is most likely going to get 4th or 5th. I think he will be more dangerous later in the year for the rogue invitational and Shaw Classic if he decides to do that.

Deadlift: Thor wins. Race for second place gonna be wild, but i agree Bobby has the better chances, if Hooper wants to catch up he gonna have to pull something impressive, but he is not looking like his Raw deadlift is on par and this time i feel like deadlift is gonna cost him points someway or another. Frame: Mateusz, but this one is gonna be hard with Maxime, Evan and Martins pushing behind him, this is after the deadlift too, so some backs and legs gonna be sore already, Then Mitch and Thor. Again, Mitch gonna need to not drop this if he wants to keep up. Dinnie´s: ??? Literally no mans land i guess. This one gonna be where things get set, whoever comes on top has the better chances to finish first or at least in the podium. Axl: I belive Tom to be the favorite, with Mitch chasing him and Bobby... BUT!, from training only Martins and Thor have been doing a proper fixed axl. This is very important here, the apollons´wheel is no regular axl, and can give hell to inexperienced atlethes, so expect the unexpected. Trial: Fs´in the chats boys, this one gonna hurt. Mateusz, this one is for him, Martins should be able to do good too, same with thor. The Odd Haugen Tombstone is gonna be crazy hard and as the last event i don´t see half the field finishing it, specially the ones that didn´tlifted it in the past or those who been training with anything but stones

I’ve only just came across your channel mate and it’s absolutely fantastic. Excellent analysis as well and I agree with your reasoning behind your predictions. I have Mateusz finishing a little lower unfortunately (I’d love him to win!) and Martins a little higher. This is maybe the hardest competition to predict that I can remember in 27 years as a strongman fan.

Tom should press the Axle several times, but his leg drive seems unconsistent : some times, he seems to struggle, then next rep times he pops it overhead like nothing. --> I still put my money on Mitch for the split jerk, which he seems to master enough for 180Kg

  • @walk-york

If axle was just an overhead then I think Mitch would take it easy. But I think Tom has the most efficient clean, so it is between Tom's clean and Mitch's Jerk

I agree on Evan proably being sronger than Martins on a regular deadlift. But: e/Evan is not going to do well at the elephant bar. It has too much whip. In his training videos, he doesn't even spend time on getting into the ideal position. I think his style is too impulsive for the bar. Maybe I'll eat my words. Would love to see him control the movement enough to really do well.

@thestrongmanhistorian I also think Tom will do extremely well on the Dinnie Stones. His Scottish pride going to carry him and he has held the dinnies before. I agree with this being Mateusz's best chance. Hooper Tom and Mateusz is my podium :)

I have to strongly disagree with your description of Thor (that he looks like the average gym goer but scaled up). The guy is and looks like a monster.

  • @thestrongmanhistorian

    @thestrongmanhistorian

    3 ай бұрын

Definitely could have explained it better. Of course he is a monster but when you compare him to shorter guys like Eddie or lets say Bobby he looks more proportional because of his huge frame. He has gigantic hips but he also has gigantic shoulders so he can pack 200 kg and still not look like a cube. But yes definitely not a regular gym goer but a buff human.

Too close to call , I think. One mistake will cost a podium place. Hafthor for deadlift . Tom for axel, Mateusz for frame & stones? Dinnie stones Evan? Keg over bar Tom or Hafthor. It will come down to who stays in top 4 for most events.

Great analysis, and I agree, I think that since it’s a stacked field, I think the WSM winners will take points from each other, provided that axle and deadlift don’t share points (matching weight jumps), at least the frame, Dinnie’s and stone medley are timed or for distance. Send good vibes to Mateusz, everyone!

Thor is no where near ready. He should have opened with Rogue. Hope he does not hurt himself. Expect 6-7th place at best. Hoping Mateauz gets on the podium! 2019 was the hardest line up Mateauz has faced with Thor, Martin’s and Brian all being at or near their best ever. Thor and Martin’s a way off this condition.

He didn't break the dinnie stones world record lmao. Mate he wasn't even using stones, he was using weights with the handles. You can't claim that as a record when it's not even on the kit. They don't even claim the dinnie stone replicas as the proper world record and that's a hell of a lot closer than what Tom was doing. Although I agree he's in with a shout to win the event.
