Men's Wheel Of Pain - Event 1 | Full Live Stream | 2023 Arnold Strongman Classic

Спорт

Complete coverage of the Wheel of Pain, Event 1 from the 2023 Arnold Strongman Classic in Columbus, Ohio (March 3, 2023). This year, a new men's champion is guaranteed to be crowned, and to take a step toward that title, all 10 competitors would need a good start in this always punishing challenge, pushing Rogue's unmistakable 20,000 LB mega-implement for distance.
In the end, half the field would exceed an impressive 90 feet, with Mitchell Hooper, Trey Mitchell, and Mateusz Kieliszkowski all inching toward triple digits and a major event win.

    Seeing Mitchel Hooper run with weights, and Shahlaei overhead up, despite having good overhead strength, is something else. If he doesn't wreck himself, and limits the hardcore lifts, like his log lifts here at ASC, sky is the limit, he has such good end to end power.

    @@Tomm5997 Yeah, Pavlo is like Eddie and Mariusz fused, exceot Mariusz was just so hardcore and could take it, he was blessed with being able to grind, and not have a heartattack. If Pavlo keeps the health, and keeps mobile, he looks like the most powerful guy overall, except for probably Hafthor. He's got it all, strong shoulders, height and stride, solid sized hands and a giid grip, and he has a grabby wingspan for medleys and stones.

    I tend to agree, I hated seeing it at worlds. I feel like if their was a vehicle pull instead of this that year (2021?) Brian would have beat Tom for 1st but the spectacle of this is what they’re chasing I guess. As if pulling a plane isn’t cool enough?! The vehicle pull or arm over arm is so much more classic strongman but that also is going to fatigue deadlift and everything from fatigue. It’s competition and that’s part of it is resiliency and endurance. Don’t you think every athlete would perform better if they stopped having WSM in sunny/ 90 degrees and humid locations every single year? That’s torture for people who are competing at 325+ pounds!!!

  • @likeyou3317

    @likeyou3317

    You're right, tho in order to have a complete test of strength you need some endurance event with high load, whether it's deadlift for reps or squat. Tho Arnold always had deadlift (last year squat) for max and you cant have both deadlift and squat in one competition. I think conans wheel does its job and tbh it's just a beautiful implement. And you know, you can't test athletes strength and not tire them in the process. Events in the begining will always affect the later events, some more some less.

  • @adamborivoj3048

    Every event will tire the athletes a little bit. Coping with exhaustion is also a test of strength. Doing The Log after The Wheel means that the athletes can't use as much leg drive. I love this event.
