Aramaic Bible Study - Introduction

The following video provides viewers with an introduction to the special series found in this playlist studying the Scriptures in Aramaic. The Aramaic dialects covered on this playlist include the Aramaic of the Jewish Targums, Biblical Aramaic, Classical Syriac, Neo-Aramaic, and even excerpts from the Dead Sea Scrolls.
The series was designed to address the interests of the channel's subscribers who when surveyed indicated that their major interests were in Semitic languages and Ancient/Eastern Christian Theology. This playlist provides an intersection between those two worlds.

    Amen. I really hope Syriac language students or students of other Aramaic dialects (mostly likely just Biblical Aramaic since that's the gateway dialect) can really make use of all of these.

    @ProfessorMichaelWingert I think you've already been blessed,you seem to have that" you look so familiar" face, I was practicing your dramatic Lord's prayer to hopefully recite it at my daughter's Christmas Dinner to maybe remind my loved ones who we belong to,I fear it might have to wait until next year due to needing more practice ,Grace be upon you 🙏

    What do you mean by 'pure'? Aramaic has many attested dialects that are each interesting in their own ways.

    @@sagadalmark2158 You would probably want to take a class in Northwest Semitic inscriptions, that would cover ancient Aramaic inscriptions (there are not that many).
