I love both versions 16 and 22. Her 16 year old voice is more beautiful and she can bend the note better but her little 10 year old heart was in the 2016 version. A hard choice but I'll go with her at 10. ! She has sang songs that even she can't compete with now.! like I Put a spell on you at nine yearsold .! Thats the best she will ever do that song.!

I love both versions. At 10 she is pouring everything she has into the song, and the raw emotion takes my breath away! At 16, her sound has matured and she has developed her technique to a stunning level. I have literally listened to both versions hundreds of times in the past month!

Both of these are amazing, the 10 yo version is off the charts for the "cuteness factor" & dare I say, it's got to be the best version by a child, EVER. the 2022 version didn't make you cry and take your breath away like the 2016 version. the first one is like a rocket taking off, the second is like the international space station...

You also have to remember that she is from Norway. Her English is so much better now.

This is my 93rd time listening to this MASTERPIECE and each time I experience a new level of perfection by our ethereal prodigy extraordinaire, Angelina Jordan. When you listen to the A cappella portions of this performance at the very end of the song you are truly experiencing the genius of Angelina Jordan’s PERFECT PITCH. Sinatra, rest in peace Angelina Jordan, the Bare Foot Queen has taken the crown and there is nothing like her in the universe. When I first heard her perform this I put it on pause and brought up Sinatra, Bublé, Streisand, Fitzgerald and Vaughan's version of this song to compare it to AJ version, and none of them moved me like this version. It is so hard to comprehend that Angelina from 7 to 16 is the greatest story telling being in my 74 years of experiencing great vocalist and I can't wait for the rest of the story.

Emma, you are so transparent! And delicate, and funny! When I first listened to the previous version I was emotionally stunned. When I listened to the last I was transported to an emotional journey like floating on the waves. Yes, a totally different mood.

If I hadn't heard the 16 yr old version, the 10 year old would be my favorite version. Kills me how she deliberately varies volume at the opening of the second chorus.

She won Norway Has Talent at age 7yr singing legendary jazz songs. Please do yourself a favor and give them a listen. Also her versions of Boeheim Rapsody and Yellow Brick Road. Also add Billie Jean done jazzy. Her 10 yr old I'm Still Holding Out For You is one of my favorites. She is an amazing human being, ckeck out her bio on why she sings barefoot, she published a book about it at age 9yr.

It’s difficult for me to find a better or more complete singer in all that I have hear in my life… not that much btw, but I used to listen my fathers vinil jazz and I find that Angelina not only take us decades back but modernizes and fills the songs with such emotions as only classics like Louis, Ella, Sinatra, Etta and so many others did. You will read a lot about tears in the comments

You missed her first version at age 9 in an outdoor concert, well done. The one at 20 is so passionate and cute it can elicit tears. I hope that you check out Ella Fitzgerald singing "My Funny Valentine" on her "Essential Ella" album, which includes this oft omitted introduction. I can hear the genesis of Angelina's phrasing and vibrato in Ella's rendition.

I mean, the voice (she is already legendary for that. At 16!), the sophistication, her mature musical and dramaturgical choices. It can't be praised enough I think. I’d never heard any if your reactions before, it I’m impressed with you reaction to both versions. I’ve been an Angelina fan for several years now, but this latest version has totally captured me. I'm sub'd on your channel and can't wait for more. PLEASE DO Angelina's 1st original release next, "Million Miles" from Republic Records where she got signed at age 14. Not only did she wright this song at 14 years old, but it was in memory of her Grandfather who had just died. it will just melt your heart. Also her latest release is called 7th Heaven, which she also wrote, and it's very jazzy which shows she's sticking to her roots and developing her own distinct style. I believe we must support this talented girls present and budding career and promote not only what she's done but to promote and introduce her original work as well.

Her new version has jumped up to be one of my favorites by her..such a masterclass. ALWAYS more from Her, Dimash and So Hyang! Their artistry is unmatched IMO..my holy trinity!

I get a kick out of reactors saying "wow" to a particular spot in a song and then another reactor not commenting on that but on the next word or part immediately after or before. It seems that Angelina's performances are entirely noteworthy and uniquely especial. (Thanks for opening my eyes to some gems that I missed)

Please give a listen to Home Free. They are an amazing acapella group. If you've never heard them before, you will be fascinated. You should start with "Man of Constant Sorrow", but they have many great songs.

Hi Emma...great reaction!...if you want to hear another, even more astonishing version of this song, sung by Angelina, check out the live performance she did of it for an HIV charity event when she was 9...she is accompanied by piano and sax...the saxophone retort is spot on and beautiful along side Angelina's tone and timbre...but the notable part, is that the pianist is 'free expressing' throughout the entire song and only really just marking out the melody with the necessary visits to its landmarks...it is a truly spectacular performance by Angelina, just swaying and swinging her little bare feet, in a pretty white dress with purple flowers in her hair....you're gonna cry and cry and cry... 😊

You can turn on the Radio, Record Player, Cassette Player or CD to listen to beautiful singing. I'm subscribing cause I love hearing Angelina, and watching reactions to her. You should give a listen to an a capella band called Home Free. I'd love to see your reaction to them also. Man of Constant Sorrow shows off their talent very well. You'd love it.

I've listened to a lot of Angelina's work but I have to say I think the early version of Funny Valentine is one of the most beautiful vocal performances I have ever heard from anyone. It's heartbreakingly beautiful. There are some performances where one artist makes a song theirs' and theirs' alone. Think a young Judy Garland's version of Over The Rainbow. Ray Charles' version of Georgia. I think this version of My Funny Valentine will, over time, become the standard by which all other versions will be judged. Often it takes time for the rest of the world to discover a diamond like this but I believe over time people will recognize what a masterpiece the early version is. I like the second version where she is older but it has polish that removes the passion of the first IMHO. I think this side by side comparison proves my point.

If you want a song where she struggles and you want to analyse it, listen to ‘I have nothing’ Whitney Houston. Still amazing for a 13 year old but other reactors say she struggles and gets tired. Brave to tackle such a big song.

I must say I prefer the young version because of its natural raw emotion. Of course the new version is technically brilliant and still has tons of emotion, but it has lost some of the authentic jazz feeling. Perfection vs. Perfect imperfecton.
