Thanks for another great analysis, Emma. I love this intimate yellow reinterpretation of EJ's song. For me Angelina is absolutely fantastic at engaging listeners, she is almost an emotional amplifier (if that makes sense 😃) and all her interpretations manage to get to the heart and move you. Again her version of this song, captivates you with her simplicity, melancholy and sweetness, while the slow, smooth progression of her vocals to those awesome riffs is masterful. Angelina manages to reinterpret these old songs and always extrapolate alternative versions of incredible beauty and which she sings masterfully, she is simply unreal in her musical intelligence. 💛 🧡 ❤️

Thank you, Emma, for this excellent reaction. I take exception to Heidi's comment, "You are a superstar in the making". Told to arguably the best singer in the world, that is several years past its pertinence. Nevertheless, if people believe that Angelina memorizes how she should perform a song to sound like this, they are missing one of Angelina's greatest attributes and that is that Angelina embodies the feelings that she wants to convey and from that point, it is automatic. She simply gets out of the way and lets the music flow. As the Norwegian judge noted, "You ARE music".

This such a beautiful performance. She also brings out the story really well The big blast is obvious but I think I like the top of bottom run towards the end even better. She has an amazing rich vocal toolbox which she uses with great care and precision to give us a wonderful performance.

Fantastic reaction to The Master! She manipulates her voice to fit the song, letting the song be as it was meant to be, paying homage to the original. She sang "MY Funny Valentine", at age 10 and then at age 16. You can compare the growth and you will see she has the knowledge but her voice isn't capable at 10 that is t 16, but she knows what to do with her capabilities to give an Epic performance, God Bless!

I remember listening to Elton sing this , when he released it almost 50 years ago. Listening to this performance was the first time that I really heard the lyrics, because of Sara Bareilles' arrangement, Angelina's phrasing and her vocal paintings.

Emma, I am so glad you enjoyed her version of this Elton John song from years ago. Emma, what I can't help but notice is when reactor's such as you who listen to many wonderful artists return to Angelina to hear her sing again, after one note, your eyebrows go up and you realize she is so, so different than anyone else. Emma, as you continue to listen to Angelina, please don't shy away from the video's she did when she was much younger. In particular, her video's when she was 10 years old are truly "collector's items" if you know what I mean. You probably have access to playlists you have received from some of her 'angels'. Some of the selections you definitely want to hear are: 'My Funny Valentine'; 'Feelin' Good'; 'Time To Say Goodbye'; 'Song For A'; 'Sing Me To Sleep' and 'Faded' with Alan Walker's orchestra, are just some of them. But, back to this video of 'Goodbye Yellow Brick Road', understanding this was a talent show she was performing on, in the two plus minutes she was allotted to do her song she incorporated every possible dimension she could into the song. I would love to know what Elton John thought of Angelina's rendition of his song.

While I love Angelina, the credit REALLY goes to Sara Bareilles who made this arrangement years ago. Check out her 8 years ago in Atlanta singing it live. Also, for another treat, Sara and Jennifer Nettles sang it last month together. Gotta give credit where it’s due, Angelina did a nice job with it, BUT it’s ALL a Sara song for making and singing this incredible arrangement.

I watched American Idol this week and the CMA awards last night. I'm sorry but the songs and singers just don't measure up any more. The new benchmark by Angelina makes listening to them difficult. There are two classes of singers now. Angelina and everyone else.

Great reaction Emma!! You are quickly becoming one of my favorite reactors. I have a treat for you. This here is arguably Angelina's greatest song, at age 10. It is a true masterpiece called I'm Still Holding Out For You. It was a demo that was never officially released. It was leaked though. kzread.info/dash/bejne/dqpsz8x8mJjPmag.html. This song could have been #1 on Billboard, however, there is much controversy regarding it. Some say lyrics is the reason, but I doubt it. I think the song is so good, it would have forced Angelina to tour and promote and sign with a label. That was not the plan they had for her. As close to a normal childhood was and has been the plan. Again, this song is a masterpiece......at 10 years old!!!!!!
