Thank you so much for helping me figure out what to make for dinner! I have been to a Korean restaurant and I must say I compared the food I made following your wonderful recipes and restaurants were both good!! I all tried blood sausage, and intestines tasty! I know I could not ever make sausage or intestines but know where I can go out for nice dinner. No cooking or dishes!! Thank you so much again for your recipes! My mum is adopted from Korea, and while both she and I have a Swedish upbringing, Swedish citizenship and consider ourselves Swedish, we obviously feel connected to Korea still. I think I have watched you for about 10 years now, since I left college and really started to appreciate korean culture outside of just KPop. I found your channel first for pajeon! When you were still using the old camera in the old kitchen and no big bows in your hair! haha! But I loved that you made the recipe easy and showed all the steps for real for real so I could follow. For a long time after, I made pajeon for many people and everyone I showed it to love it. Then I made your galbi, bulgogi, beef & radish soup and of course..Kimchi! I own both big cookbooks AND one of your self-published ones too! I don't cook as much as I'd like to but I am always planning to make soups and stews for winter time at lunch or kimchi pork buns. You have really helped me love Korea more and more and I'm glad you're still showing us all the different recipes either from your childhood or that you came up with only today!

I wanted to share a story… I discovered Maanchi when I was hunting for a nice recipe for Chicken Buldak some years ago. I am originally from Nepal so me and my mum together cooked this delicious dish following your recipe. It’s been 5-6 years ever since… and I now am in the USA pursuing my Biochemistry degree (far away from home) and every time I cook Buldak I think of my mum back home and that sweet memory I shared with her. And all this is because of you! I always look forward to your new recipes and similarly how you never get tired of making new videos, I never get tired of watching them. Congratulations Maangchi! You really have showcased immense love and passion for cooking all these years and you still have that evergreen smile and burning passion. I hope to meet you one day and have a nice meal with you and thank you for all your recipes and memories I made with my family.

I've been following you for maybe three years or so. I've learnt a lot about Korean cuisine and Korean culture. Me and my bf enjoyed making kimchi, bokkeumbap, bibimbap, japchae and so much more... But specially, we've enjoyed what a kind and lovely human being you are. Happy 15 years, Maangchi! Hope there will be many more.

I make your spicy cucumber recipe every other week. My husband absolutely loves it. (We omit the onion). The first time I made it for him he wanted to know where I got the recipe because it was so good. I told him, “This adorable woman named Maangchi! She’s the best!” He agrees!

I learned so much from this channel, not just about Korean cooking, but about cooking in general! What I love about Korean food as a vegetarian is how every ingredient is treated with respect and even the most humble vegetable can be the star of a dish. Thank you for 15 years of amazing content! Kimchi-jjigae has been a weeknight staple of mine for years, but I've always just used veggie bouillon and fish sauce for the broth. You've convinced me to go to H Mart and pick up ingredients to start making my own stock. Your positivity and enthusiasm is contagious!

I learned so many techniques from you and became brave enough to make my own stock with large anchovies lol. One summer I was home alone and had to stay indoors due to terrible wildfire smoke outside, so I made your crab stew to cheer myself up. I followed the entire recipe exactly, no cutting corners! I started looking in to Korean cooking when I was with my ex over 8 years ago. His mother was very adamant I learned how to make kimchi and some other things but she would refuse to teach me. So I searched the internet and found you! I was super happy to make your kimchi recipes and have been making them ever since then. Fresh is so much better than store bought! Even though my ex and I are not together any more I am so happy that I found this channel and always recommend it when people ask me about how I learned to cook Korean dishes. Honestly, I use a lot of the techniques and recipes still to this day in my cooking and I 100% do not regret exploring and learning more about food. Your recipes are simple to follow and make cooking feel easy and approachable for someone that might not be comfortable in the kitchen yet and for that I thank you!
