Hello Maangchi! I’m married to Korean. Unfortunately my mom in law passed away before she able to teach me Korean cooking, I have 3 sis in law ( 3 Hyungnim) but they’re living in different states.. So whenever I want to cook any Korean dishes for the first time I’ll say to my husband , I’ll ask Hyungnim Maangchi how to cook it 🤣😂.. You’re my 4th Hyungnim 😃. Thank you so much! Thank you so much for all the hard work you do to make these videos. I am half Korean and have spent many years living in Seoul (where I was born), but I live in Texas now (since 1995) and miss Korean home cooking. I am so happy that I found your KZread channel. While there are some nice Korean restaurants here, it's just not the same as I remember. Your recipes, however, have the exact taste that I've been missing for many years. Your recipes taste like "home". Thank you for sharing them for all to enjoy. 💖

Maangchi, I made this recipe with fillets of pollock instead of cod (what I had in the fridge) and it was soooo delicious! It really reminded me of growing up next to the ocean and eating with friends, as well as wonderful times with Korean friends having and sharing something tasty and laughing all night. you are so amazing! I definitely want to try this and I know how much healthier korean food is. I wish I would've learned my mom's recipes but she's no longer with us but watching this and learning more helps so much and every time I have korean food I always think about my mom. she used to make this spicy fish stew that had fish with soft bones that you could eat and I never learned how to make it or learn what it was called

I don't cook a lot of fish because I sometimes miss to take some fish bone and end up hurting myself. this recipe is perfect for me. Thank you

fish is prepared in a similar fashion in Caribbean cuisine. first it is pan fried, then finished off in a sauce with lots of sauteed sweet peppers, onions, and fresh scotch bonnet peppers to taste. it is usually served up with rice, and the sauce is amazing mixed with the rice. and, yes... the bones definitely add incredible flavor to the dish. it saddens me a bit when people are so removed from the source of their food that they freak out at bones in fish.

I am Indian and speak Bengali. We are from a riverine part of the country and our non-vegetarian meals are fish based.We cook with the fish bones and in case of smaller fish it's cooked with the head attached to it. It gives the sauce a distinct flavour.
