An Honest Review of The Triumph Bonneville
Автокөліктер мен көлік құралдары
The Bonnie is a neat bike - but it's not as amazing as many gushing reviews online make out. I thought I'd take a little more of realistic look at what it's like to own and ride the Triumph Bonneville.

Dude... or Mate, you've got talent. You don't need to buy the bike to do reveiws. You can do videos on whatever comes to mind, tell us what you think of Harley riders, sport bikes, politics, religion etc, etc, etc. We will be here watching, and waiting. You've not only gotta keep up the good work, you've gotta do more of it! Thanks for your great sense of humor.

+Dale Arenson Thanks for your kind words mate! I think I'll stick to topics which I have more than a passing interest/knowledge on. Which limits things to motorcycles and firearms. I've planned to do more videos but life gets in the way sometimes. I've got a few bikes I should get around to doing but I've hit a bit of a wall in terms of equipment. It'll come - someday!

+Dale Arenson A competitive American shooter!? You guys appear to be rare. Most of the videos I've seen online are people just blasting away in their backyard. I used to shoot service rifle (military centrefire rifles) at 100 standing, 200 kneeling and 300 and 500 prone. Did some trap and skeet, fullbore as well - but these days all I can afford is .22LR matches. And after looking at that page - fuck me dead that is some good grouping! What's your set up? I've had a chance to fire a few interesting firearms in my time (Experimental shortened No1MkIII*, F88 AUSTEYR, FN MAG, Sten, and a few other things but never had a chance to pull the trigger on a .50 BMG. Warms my heart that you shoot them competitively. I assumed most people just bought them for a giggle, and that's about it.

+Marc Goldbaum Hahaha, thanks mate! I was thinking about this lately and there's much more of a market for tech reviews than motorbikes. Reviews of phones and stuff like that get millions of views. Shame I don't know anything about it. Last time I had to buy a phone I asked the sales rep which one was the best phone for sexting (the answer: The HTC M8 because of it's low light camera) and he said he's never been asked that question before. So there might be a niche.
@MrGoldbaum

+Marlon you should absolutely consider reviewing something. Seriously... If whatever you review has the same style of comedy, editing, and dialogue, I'm sure you'll get views. Start with tech that you do know; or maybe tech you don't! Review from a point of knowing absolutely nothing at all and only recognizing that people are using it. Learn how to use it, maybe fuck up while doing it. Could be good. Maybe you break it, maybe its a worthless piece.
All motorcycle reviews should be like this.
Sweet Jesus this is the most entertaining review I've ever had the pleasure of watching. If you're ever in the UK the beers are on me.
That was the best test of a bike I have ever seen on you tube.... Pissed myself laughing through most of it... well done!

I come back 5 years later to say thank you for your vids! After saw your funny yet detailed review I got my first real bike - a used 13’ bonneville t100. Wonderful bike, reliable, user friendly, and most of all, easy to fiddle with. I sold her in 2018 in favor of something fancy a 4 cylinders bike. But now I’m back to this vid and decided to get my second triumph bonneville. Your vid are the reason for my love for triumph. Thanks!

@@StrangelyBrownNo1 I got a really good deal on a used 15’ s1000xr, sweet sweet machine, huge fun but pain in ass to work on. Need computer to do everything, even as simple as clear the maintenance reminder light need special dealer gimmick to make it work. Two biggest reason for me to let her go are: 1. Constantly large amounts of carbon build up on intake valves when urban riding, and 2. Like you said in your vids, it is an intrusive bike that might rub commuter the wrong way in urban setting. Oh and the heat from engine in summer makes perfect medium rare legs every time haha. What do you think about the new 1200cc water cool engine?

Love your humor and the many photos you added in this video. I once owned a fully restored 1970 Bonneville and was thinking of revisiting my past and buying a new one. After you're incredibly acerbic review, I shall need to ponder the decision a bit longer.
I found this review again. It's just as sweet the second time... especially when you can't remember what happened the first time. This must have been a labour of luv. I work for a triumph dealer and the Bonnie is a good seller. I'm very familiar with the models and the bonneville is as he says, solid reliable, pretty fun and not like everything else on the road. Yeah, the shocks are passable but even basic good aftermarket ones are loads better, and good springs and oil in the forks make a great difference. But to be honest, once we sell them, they rarely ever get traded in, the owners love their bikes. I always tell people that it's a very turn key bike, easy and fun to ride, it has no real bad habits and you don't even have to really put a lot of thought into riding, just get on and go.Some bikes You really have to keep Your mind on, this isn't one of them.

Oldbmwr100rs I have sat on several Bonnevilles and did like the seat. Could be a personal preference for me. Do have any customer feedback regarding the seat?
@Oldbmwr100rs
10 жыл бұрын
Well, the seat for all three models, SE, T-100 and Thruxton fit any of the other bikes, so the standard or SE seat would be lowest, the others a bit taller. And Saddleman I believe also makes a couple styles of aftermarket seats as well. The stock seats themselves aren't bad comfort wise being as most people stick with what came with the bike. Best of luck in Your search for a bike, the bonnie is a really good choice in a standard motorcycle, there are few standards around anymore from anyone else.
There are SO MANY Bonnie "reviews". This is the only one that actually shows the reality of the bike. And the humor is priceless. Well done, mate!
Thank you Marlon for the review, the best one yet! I owned a 1969 Bonneville 650cc, I even chopped it. Added a hardtail to the frame, raked the neck 5degs, 19" front tire, stock back, shorty pipes, mild apes, cobra seat and a 12" sissy bar. The bike was loud (way loud), vibrated like no ones business at full throttle but it got any girl out there! I was 17 and live in Huntington Beach, CA., that was in 1972. Great times!

your video was amazing mate! love the picture editing you've put in this! made it hysterical! cheers
Excellent review! Thanks!
You are one funny bugger! You could write comedy sketches. Thankfully you included the overall message, it can be fixed. It seems the most endearing feature is it's exhaust note,,, but then, you fixed that as well. I have to say though that at around 9 & 1/2 thou, it's is a good buy, even with it's foibles. I paid that price in 2006 for a Royal Enfield 500 classic that started to fall apart 20ks from the showroom and I had to take it back. They replaced the barrel and the fuel tank and I've been replacing bits ever since. There's no need to call me dumb, I already know it. I agree with your assessment of the W800, except it lacks only one thing, a triumph badge on it's tank. Cheers.

Thanks mate! It's around $3000 or $4000 more than the Enfield in Australia. I do't think you're dumb for buying the Enfield - I'd love one dearly but it does take a certain kind of person to really love it. It's true what you say about the W800 but I think a bigger problem is the way they put 'W' all over the damn bike like it means something. It looks ridiculous. But it's a really, really, really good ride. I think the thing that Triumph should be concerned about is that for the generation getting into bikes now the Triumph name doesn't mean as much to them as what it once was.
I was having a crappy day, and this video made me laugh - a lot. So thanks for that! And for the great review.
This is the best bike review I've seen in my entire life. And trust me I've seen plenty. Great job mate. Cheers.
