    Three years ago I brought the Scrambler 900 which was my first bike as it was about a month after passing my test. Planed on running it for two years and moving on to something bigger but after three years I'm still riding it and I love it. Don't think I will ever sell it, I found the perfect bike for myself on the first on.

    @@kfiji Well i was a new rider when i had mine and i haven't crashed it yet. I think the 900cc is spot on, while not underpowered it won't try to kill you. Its nicly ballanced between the two. I've been riding ten years now and its still enough for me. That said i drive a lorry which takes forever to get up to speed so any bike feels quick to me. I was planing to sell it after a few years and buy something bigger but after two years i was still having way to much fun on it and i just didn't want to sell it so i haven't moved onto a bigger bike. To be honest now i don't think i ever will.

    Ten years ago, I bought one of the very first Thruxtons sold in Canada. Now I want another one of these wonderful twins, but this time make it a T100. They are, as you said, utterly charming. Btw, I've seen a couple of you video road tests. They are very well made and the choice of music is absolutely spot-on. It perfectly suits the bike being tested, its sound, and the on-screen delivery of the commentary. Bravo.

  • @Rocketpants_
    @Rocketpants_10 жыл бұрын

    As reviewer and some people here have already said, this bike really is for fun and to describe it as a blank canvas is spot on. I just purchased this exact model - I'm a Brit living in NYC, and even here this turns heads. But I saw the gold/white accents on the bike as a chance to add to that vintage flavour, so far a brown Slammer seat and Biltwell Thruster grips from British Customs and I'm still planning on adding more. It may not be a real vintage Bonnie but you can certainly make it look like one, and you get the bonus of modern technology. Can't speak to the issue of oil or electric problems, hopefully those are just rumours or bad luck. Friend of mine has an all-black 2012 Scrambler and while it's technically the same as mine it doesn't have the same flare, I think the 2014 T100 has the ability to be customised far beyond most recent Triumph models. And as others have said, this bike is for fun more than anything.

    Here, in Bucharest, is 01:28 AM, it's raining like there no tomorrow and I just came home riding my Bonnie T100 (SMQ edition) ...well, it was pure pleasure. Never lost contact with the asphalt, especially in poodles, never felt insecure. I've bought my baby two years ago (new) and 12000 km later I'm still madly in love with her. Never had oil leaking issues, radiator leaking or whatever problems I hear others had with their T100 so I must be lucky then...

    I have a BMW G650GS and although I knew about Triumph, never cared to pay a visit to a dealer (also, there are only two of them in Rio de Janeiro, Brasil). Then came Friday, Jan 29 2016, and while attending a small motorcycle fair in town I got my eyes on an orange Bonneville T100, sat on it and boy, was I in love. Next day I went to the dealer and tested drive it. Let me put it this way: there seems to be no middle term with this moto: either you love it or hate it (or aren't in the riding motorcycles world). I loved it, from the looks to the very comfortable riding position, to the power. I'd also like to congratulate the folks of Auto Trade for this BEAUTIFUL video. Some might not agree, but it focuses on what matters, which are impressions, images, sights and the like. For lots of numbers and specs I can go to the manufacturer's site. On a video I want to see it and the video makes me want to stop writing this and buy a T100!

    Oh, how I wish I could afford such a bike. I've always loved vintage bikes over more modern machines...part of that being the more traditional "standard" riding position versus either the sportbike or cruiser positions. The fact that Triumph has created a classic looking bike with some modern upgrades as they have makes this a very appealing machine, in deed. If only I could afford one....

    Excellent video and review! I like the old style looks and the soul of the Triumph brand. In my youth I had wet dreams about the Triumph Bonneville 650 1969 model. However, I don't like the lack of quality or rather lack of perfection to details. Personally I like to ride fast now and then and sometimes on rough roads and I don't feel this bike will be right for my use, but it would be nice to have as a second bike for nostalgia.

    Auto Trader The Steve McQueen edition is great fun! Though I have to plan an extra 5-10 minutes every ride to spend with the chit-chatting passersby! Seems everyone wants to ask me about it. Here's a link to a photo gallery I've started: www.pbase.com/d30/triumph_motorcycle

    Hi, I know its an old video, however I have a want you a this question, I recently came across exactly the same bike which is 13000 km driver. Is it fine to buy a Triumph T100 (Same model and paint scheme) with 13k? Your suggestion is highly appreciated.

    I miss my 2006 all black T100, when i ride it, people stops me and ask me what year it was like it was from 60' 70' , runs great, looks great. My cons, parts are extremely expensive compare to other bikes, like harleys or hondas, and sometimes a little hard to find, you will find amazing customize parts, but you will have to pay! The chrome , its horrible bad, it will rust everything, other thing you will need a custom exhaust for sound and torque!!!! but beleive me, if you got the money and want to go for it... just go for it!!!!! AAAA+++ for me its one of the best cool looking retro bike... it piece of art and great history!!!

    On my 7th Bonneville now and finally found the unicorn...they certainly get under your skin... F&R sports tuned suspension, carburettor version, big bore Wiseco 904, HD clutch, sweet sounding StainTunes and fresh Sports Demons. What a 🍑! 🌪🚀

    Cheers John. A nice review and fair to the bike, but please check facts on where they are built... SOME bikes are built in Thailand for the far east market. But you can check via the frame numbers. Not sure why people are that worried about this anyway as Triumph quality is spot on anyway, wherever they are built. I have a Thruxton here in Qatar and if I had the bike in the UK would change shocks and fork springs. Otherwise - as you say there are plenty of great aftermarket parts to improve the range of machines. I love the Californian based British Customs parts... Predator pipes etc!

    Thanks for your comments, Colin. I do agree with you - for me, it's provenance that defines a product like the Bonneville, not geography. However, I thought it was important to raise in this video the fact that all UK Bonnevilles are now assembled in Thailand and shipped to the UK. That's the word of Triumph Motorcycles, not me. Love predator pipes, you should also check out Dime City Cycles, if you haven't already. Magnificent! Ride safe, J

    I've seen reviews on the model, but most of the people seem to be very negative towards its features, and riding experience. One rather dumb thing in my view that I saw someone complaining about in a review was how an engine mount was painted green, and didn't at all go with the motif of the bike. I'm thinking, "and you don't have a spanner to remove that and a can of paint to make it more aesthetically pleasing?" I would however appreciate a video.
