    Ducati hasn't been Italian for a while now, German ownership turned it into BMW in red, making stupidly complicated expensive bikes that sell mostly on marketing

    Bought one when they first came out, to replace my old GSXR750 and sold it 6 years later with less than 2,000 k’s on the clock. I preferred riding my wife’s Piaggio 150 scooter.

    Man, I had the Ducati Scrambler while doing motorcycle reviews for other people. There was something cruel about riding all these other, better bikes for years and having to get back on the Duke each time.

    As someone who’s put 88,000kms on a scrambler and my only mode of transportation…. I agree with everything you have said. Expect for the praise of the new model Icon, someone should be fired for that fuel tank.

    @@StrangelyBrownNo1 I literally swapped the engine last week. Lost compression in one of the cylinders. Besides that one time the paper thin sprocket retaining clip wore out and sent my chain flying off while also chewing the f out of countershaft and leaving me stranded in the middle of nowhere with zero phone reception. Sat on the side of the road for three hours until I managed to flag down a ride with a half drunk tradie. Did some research and found forum posts from 20 years ago of riders having the same problem with the same retainer, so good job Ducatista 👍

    @@jaewardtattoo oh yeah that’s a bastard of a thing. I genuinely didn’t know it was considered a consumable until I pulled mine and saw it was all chewed up. Did some research and… yeah. It’s a thing. At least you didn’t have the chain fly into the case?
