When I was younger I was really interested in lolita but I HATE wearing dresses (turns out im a trans guy lol) so ouji seems like a perfect fit for me!

I'm non binary, and I love both of the fashons! It makes me sad that I can never find sweet ouji though, it's so much harder to find ouji than lolita.

i've always loved lolita, but i always kinda wanted a more masculine version of it since i like to dress all three styles, androgynous, masculine, and feminine. So ouji is great!

I love dressing up and when I learned about ouji I absolutely fell in love. I'm not old enough for a job though so I kinda have to find ouji clothing on a budget. I have an idea of how I'm going to get money though and my plan starts next week, so I'm hoping that the plan works out so I'm actually able to buy ouji clothes! In the meantime i'm watching tips and what stores to buy ouji from on a budget lol :]

How much wiggle room do the typical ouji brands have? For example, if the waist on a jacket is stated as 78cm and my waist is 80cm, will this be an absolute no or is there a few cm wiggle room? I’m male and asian, I live in the UK and would be relying on getting things posted from Asia.

It really depends on the brand to be honest :) (Some brands are know to "run small" so a little research wouldn't hurt). The second thing would also be fabrics - while some have some stretch some definitely won't have any give - I recommend sizing up when in doubt in your case as it can be super disappointing to receive a piece that won't fit. Some taobao brand will also offer custom sizing so perhaps you could also look into that. There is also lacemarket/ local 2nd hand sales where you could message the seller directly int regards to the opinion of sizing if you want to go down that route. Hope that helps and let me know if there are any more questions :)

@@katelinkimmet Thanks very much! I’m looking to order the Zjstory age of exploration long jacket, it’s perfect for what I’m putting together but I’m a bit hesitant in case the size I order doesn’t fit well. Sadly, they don’t offer custom sizing. Have you had much experience with getting clothes altered? Sizing up sounds like good advice, a larger outfit can be sized down but not vice versa

  • @katelinkimmet

@@omegaglory1 Ooh yes ! that jacket is definitely a lovely piece - while i haven't had any pieces altered myself (I tend to just sell pieces on if they don't fit), I have had some friends alter pieces themselves/take it to the tailor. I suppose it also depends on if you'd be willing to spend 'X amount' on getting it altered - the only other downside is that altering will often reduce the resale price if you change your mind about it down the track (but hey- if you love the piece, got some extra funds and don't plan to sell , then altering is a good option :) ).
