Al Snow on the Insecurity of Tony Khan

Ойын-сауық

Why does Tony Khan sit with talent at the AEW scrums? We've seen him sitting next to CM Punk and MJF while they go off on the microphone, but why is the AEW Owner there? Al Snow discusses with Vince Russo and Jeff Lane. Clip from Lions, Tigers, Bears & Head on Vince Russo's The Brand at ChannelAttitude.com

There was that one scrum where Tony Khan was going in hard on how important CM Punk was to AEW. It was totally unprofessional. Tony was screaming, and swearing how much Punk has done. Tony sounded like the kind of person who is bragging how good they are at Call of Duty. There was one point where Punk had to tell Tony to move on from that and to answer some other questions, it was embarrassing.

I'm in the Twilight Zone. Vince Russo and Jim Cornette strongly agree on something. We all know Jim would agree with Al Snow, because he's an actual wrestling guy who understands the business and how it works when it generates money. It's just amazing to me that Jim and Vince agree on something so passionately. In general, having a "media scrum" after a wrestling event is idiotic. But if you're going to do it, at least work people. Don't put on a halfway decent show (at least when MJF is around) and then immediately sit down and tell everyone it was fake and stupid and "here's the behind the scenes." What makes MJF MJF is that he's that way all the time when the cameras are rolling or he's in public or online. He suspends your disbelief and pulls you in. No other wrestler today is even attempting to do that. Oh right, one did, and his bosses/coworkers (so stupid) tried to run him out of the company for exposing them and actually drawing decent money by modern standards without the WWE machine.

It's a simple as this, Tony wants to put himself on the same level as Vince Mcmahon. He wants that "breakout thing" that makes him a superstar promoter/business person and that's the driving force behind what he does and if there's anything detrimental to that, whether it be from people inside of AEW or anyone outside of it, he take's that very personally and see's it as a challenge to him, and maybe even his family.

Didn't Russo in WCW do pretty much the same damn thing that Snow is roasting Khan for . In fact , worse . He put himself in the ring with the Workers and had " matches " with them . If memory serves , he won the championship belt at one point . At least Tony Khan is playing with his family's money , Russo was flushing money down the drain that was nowhere near his , BRO !

Russo put himself in the stories. Tony Khan is just further exposing the business with these scrums. It's like a magician doing his act and then having a press conference to explain all the tricks.

Snow is correct in his logic, but I do believe situations are different for certain people. Tony has his quirks, but he also has millions. For the situation he's in, he's doing well. Of course he'll make mistakes, especially in the minds of the people who claim to know everything. Curious to see where AEW goes in 2 years.

Tony does a lot of dumb things. Running off Cody Rhodes, putting so much into Jade and having her walk, bringing Shaq in one time, not keeping CM Punk separate on his own show so no problems would arise, not standing up to talent so they respect him, having MJF as champ (dude cannot shut up about WWE and makes AEW look small time), punishing big guys for being big guys and keeping them far away from titles, buying ROH and failing to make that what Collision is now, not having the ref stop that Mox match then coming out to dance while Mox was concussed, and many more things. Dude is tone deaf.

Al Snow sounds like a very bitter guy. Sounds like Tony Khan told Al he wasn't a fan and he wasn't going to give him a job. After insulting TK for two minutes he says its not personal or trying to insult. Lol, sure! There are a lot of experts out there talking about everything Tony khan's doing wrong. Meanwhile he has three shows on network TV and he's turning million dollar profits on a business that just turned four.

The AEW Hate Industrial Complex is alive and well. Glad they are keeping the lights on for you guys. Also, what exactly did Tony say to make you think he wants to be the next Heyman or Cornette when those are on-screen characters? Man, there are so many good criticisms you could have but these aren't hitting like you think they are.

I Honestly disagree. I NEVER, EVER enjoy neither Hogan, nor Andre. My favorite guys, always were more technical guys. Cruiserweights, for example. When a wrestler is known to have "5 moves of death", I switch the channel when such wrestler is on TV. I would go out of my way to see matches of Eddie Guererro, Dean Malenko, Chris Benoit, Perry Saturn, Norman Smiley and many many other technicians. Over roided monsters who do 5 moves and have NO idea how to sell (Hogan) are BORING to me. Body slam, lariat, legdrop = Yawnfest. Give me Zach Sabre Jr, Marty Skurl, Motor City Machineguns and Jon Gresham.

I think Tony is trying to create a character to displace criticism off of him as a person/owner/boss. Even the douchey haircut seems to play into the character of this mark billionaire kid who lets the wrestlers run the show and has no control.
