    I just had to let you know, I had the same experience, while watching and listening to Al Snow. I also have an opinion on something, please let me know if I could be right, or way out in left field. I believe the WWE wanted to extend Al's last contract, and keep him part of the company, because of what his talent's bring to the table. The reason why I think he turned down his next contract was because, the WWE has a reputation for low balling people. Basically, they would offer them a contract, that was even longer than the last one, however, they then offer less money per year. Snow is one of the few wrestlers that knows, they can make more money, working less on the independent circuit. By the fact he believed he had worked long enough in the WWE, that his brand had become well enough known, to continue with his career, without the need of the WWE machine. Thanks for taking the time to read this, I didn't mean to make it such a long comment.

    Coming back to this video two years later because it's just that fucking good. I love the juxtaposition of the bits about Dewey and the bits about the Tattoo - how Al says at the end "Do you want to know what the tattoo looked like?" when most of the class probably forgot all about it, because Dewey sold the match so well.

    In my 20s and 30s, I was a very strong, very athletic guy. I watched wrestling from an early age, and had always wondered how you could break in. I worked my ass off in warehouse and factory jobs, and beat the Hell out of my body. I didn't know anything about wrestling schools, and eventually I stopped thinking about it. Had I had access to videos like this, and heard these stories and had seen guys like Al Snow teach this business, I definitely wouldve pursued this. *Shrugs*

    @@1krani Yeah realistically, in the wild situation they were in, the heel who had the figure four on should have kept holding it, get DQ'd, and then they'd have an angle going forward for a rematch. Dewey and Washing Machine Tattoo could have called out the heel champs as cowards for getting themselves disqualified because Dewey was beating their asses, and that the heels were doing everything they could to hurt Dewey so he couldn't be at full for a rematch. So now you have a babyface team that's been wronged, one half of whom was MEGA over by that point, with an uphill battle, fighting for what they should have won the first time.

  • @hermonymusofsparta

    @hermonymusofsparta

    The point is that it was basically a shoot and it got over because of the psychology. You don't have to go on business for yourself if you do the same thing but as a work. Ring psychology is based on what would happen in a shoot.

    Man, halfway through the story when he talks about the hot tag and he goes "what do you think the crowd does?" "boos" are you fucking kidding me? He sets up the story of the hot tag and these guys are like "dunno they probably got pissed" these guys should at least watch wrestling if they want to be in the business

    So the only thing that really fascinated me was why is Barbados flag up there. With all these other countries that have long and storied pro wrestling histories. Then i found Barbaros Beach wrestling 🤣 but that looks like real like a shoot right?
