I love those suedo-morph agates that you find there! They are just wild looking! And giant calcite crevice creature! You just have some beautiful and amazing rocks around there! Wow! The sky looks beautiful! I love those picture rocks! So pretty! Thanks Nate! Fabulous hunt!

im going to do a massive cutting of the picture rocks soon, have a whole pile and its been long enough to build my excitement up again, they are like geodes, and all rocks I guess, what surprises lie inside.
I do believe you are my favorite rock-hound agate finder! I was not certain what exactly agates were, if they were back-lit cl3ar rocks or minerals, or if they were a mix of two or more minerals or crystals. But watching your picks, the way you explain everything, and why you chose it has helped me best! I'll keep watching and learning. Thank you!
Very beautiful finds 🔥🍻

This adventure may not have given up a lot of rocks, but those found were all treasures. The piece you found @13:20 was wild looking and that large Calcite crystal was awesome.. I loved the fact that you waded back across to get the dog.. thats a real friend right there! Quest On Nate!

I love the owl logo, I helped an owl I found by the side of the road one night, i've had the privilege of handling a lot of large birds of prey in my lifetime and that night was my first face to face with an owl.....eye to eye...its deep , deeper than I can explain to people, that stare.. its like looking off the edge of a cliff thats to high to see the bottom, almost creepy in its power and depth but in the darkness there , trying to scoop it up, and carry it to the car ,hold it as I drove, talons gripping but not piercing, I found a mutal respect and understanding, pain and suffering seem to be universal , the way a bird like that won't hurt you because it knows your helping... ive never forgotten the stare, now when I hear the screech at night, I know a powerful spirit is over head , makes me feel not so alone.

@@QuestForDetails That is so poetic Nate! One of those experiences that reaches into your soul and is never forgotten and is felt forever. I'm very partial to owls, along with other birds of prey, and birds in general! The closest that I've come to one was when we passed a dead barn owl along the freeway. I convinced my friend to pull over so that I could pick it up and take it to a friend who was of the first people. As soon as I started to pick it up a CHP pulled over. I was sweatin' it because I'm sure that you know possesion of even a feather is illegal. I explained to him what my intentions were and that I didn't want it to rot along the highway, and he actually used his flashlight to direct traffic around me! I took the owl to my friend and she made beautiful prayer fans from the wings and gave them to the family of the chief. In that way the spirit of the owl was honored. We have a lot of owls of several kinds where I live and it's nice to sit on the front porch and sometimes get a glimpse of them. 🦉
Thanks so much for the share. The video made my day! Northern California has so many lovely areas to go on rock adventures!

Nate, why don't you take a small gold pan with you ? I bet some of the places you go have gold too. I'm surprised you don't pull up a quartz with gold in it sometimes.

Nice finds Nate! Makes you wonder how many of those globs had crystals and druzy on them at one time before they got river tumbled? 🤔

for sure, I think its the common pattern with these agates forming in the sandstone crevices, they seem to reach a thickness of flat layers and then just go into crystal making mode till the tips touch and the cavity fills, guess thats common in agate behavior, but so many shapes here and still sticking true to the growth patterns.

@Quest For Details I didn't know they formed in sandstone too. Very cool! I always thought they mostly form in volcanic rock crevices, seams and holes.

Nate, do you want my home made flat lap? I need to get it out of my driveway. Need to clean up!
