It’s I trip that I found this! We put ads out on Craigslist but we get nothing but “sane Crystal ladies” replying! We’ve been looking to fill our “crazy Crystal lady that spins fire” position at our mountain parties in Southern California for months! 🎉Hmu!

I'm looking for public spots to do my first dig in the central and north locations but all I've found through searching is southern California public sites. :/ Are there any that you know of from central up? Or possibly east Nevada? (I know there are a few public dig sites in Nevada but was wondering what you would recommend for a first time traveler.)

You’ve inspired me to start rock hounding and mining for amethyst. I started doing research on rocks and am trying to understand everything. You’re video is seriously awesome and I’m stoked for all your finds! I feel like I have so many questions for you!!! But I guess what makes you pick a spot? Im so glad! biggest lessons : bring friends and two vehicles in case you get stuck. alot of these places are way out there. also join you local gem club. theres a bunch of them. they go on trips all the time to places that will have gems and minerals. these videos make it look really easy, its quite difficult! happy gem hunting! nothing like it!

My boyfriend and I went hunting for geodes a bit off path and we’re on day 3 of picking the tics off of us and our dog. But thank you so much for the reply! Hey brother just watching your show wondering how come you guys never go hunting 4 rubies in California myself and an old man that used to always be there in Royal Seco campgrounds used to go along the river and find little rubies he hunted up and down the Mountainside for the main vein that these things were coming out of I've only found one myself but the old man had a whole jar full of them

Great finds! I'm looking to go amethyst hunting soon myself. Obviously it'd be bad form to ask exactly where this is, but could I get the general region? I'm in the Bay Area and most of the best spots for any kind of gem seem to be in Southern CA, so if this is closer to me that would be really great. If not, any reccomendations for spots around here?

It's everywhere. There is so much of this stuff people make ashtrays out of it. What you really want is Gold. It's there too. Those guys are skipping the gold because these crystals are easy to find and less work. You don't know if this amethysts is clear and has inclusions. You can see that it is mostly white with just a little purple in the tips, which is not the high quality type. Look how cloudy it is and look how the color it not uniform. High valued amethyst is clear and one solid deep purple color. And these guys are getting so excited. lol Some Gem experts please let me know if I am wrong about this. If you could make huge profits from this stuff, there would be a mining company protecting the site with fences and guards and be working it 24 hours a day. What did they show at the end of the video? a DJ? Most rockhound videos show a full shot of the days haul. But if you want to spend a day or two looking for these rocks, they are still nice to look at and put on the coffee table. Here are some clues for you... Quartz Hill, Barstow, Panamint Valley, Garlock, Rosamond, Silver Queen Mine, Boron, Ransburg. These are just some parts of North L.A. and West Kern counties that I know personally. There are many more places to get good gems of different kinds all over the World. Join a prospecting club and you will get more information than you can use. They will take you to their claims.

a fabric cleaning gun, and soaking in Oxylic acid for several days. same as cleaning quartz crystals

not just anywhere. theres lots of old books and info on the internet about where you can find gems and crystals. its best to go with a group and ideally have a offroad vehicle. If I was you, I would join your local gem and mineral club. super nerdy but super cool!! they'll be able to tell you best places to go nearby.

Yeah.....I've only ever seen one other person there. Fortunately the road is a beast so it keeps a lot of people out. Love this spot and yes the weather station does give it away. Was there back in November 2019.
