Uncovering Hidden Treasures at a Dry Creek: A Rockhounding Expedition to Remember
Ғылым және технология
Come along with Chopper and I as we journey back in time following an old dry creek bed. Take a look at the tumbled river rock eroding from the walls of gravel once home to flowing waters of another time. This dry creek is nothing short of a treasure in itself. Hidden throughout its gravels are rich hues of red, yellow, blue, green and even purple! Solid jaspers, dendritic and banded fortification agates as well as petrified and agatized wood cover the landscape. A piece of rockhound heaven in every direction.
Thank you for coming along this expedition and supporting me in my continued adventures. Rock on everyone!

I am in Ontario Canada I take my grandkids rock hunting and we find chunks of red brick and chunks of river worn concrete? Rockhounding here is a drag😮💨I would drive, fly, train, to your area rent a B&B and pay you and Chopper to take me rockhounding for a day or three. Whaddya say? I'm totally serious.

Could you use something like a Jet Sled to be able to take larger rocks? We have used the sled to drag my camera gear along the lake shore. We also used it to move things, when we were in Alaska, last summer. You don't need snow. Just ground with a lower friction coefficient.

Hello, This place is indeed heaven❤ I'd give anything to rockhound for 1 hour there. I'd even leave all the Agate for you ❤ I'm in love with all of the Jasper/petrified wood. I live in NH and have only just begun my adventures with rockhounding. I've been to the river a few times, and I'm totally hooked. I found a lot of petrified wood and Jasper as well as Sapphires and Carnelian. These are all amazing, but nothing like what I just saw in your video. Is this in Montana, or are you on vacation somewhere else? Thank you for taking us along with you. Absolutely amazing ❤❤❤ Take care and stay safe on your adventures ❤ ~Jules~
Imagine hunting that place in the rain, it would look incredible.

@@MontanaRockMom I just love to go hunting in the rain.
No fair, I'm jealous! Can't believe the ones that you were just spraying off, you left! Drove me crazy! Lol... Just bring more buckets, girl! Ha!...Wish I lived in Montana. But we have beautiful rocks here in Utah as well. We just came back with some beautiful Agates, chalcedony & Jasper. Got some big rocks & many smaller ones for the tumbler. Wish I could send you pictures of them.
Awesome rock hunt
I laughed when, at 3:16, you said "can you see the agate?" Yeah...I could see a bunch of agates, including the big one you picked up! You find all the great candy stores, kid!😋

WOW! Connecticut has nothing like these agates & jaspers, but over many years there have been many minerals that have found throughout the state. Thank you for sharing this interesting video.

Welcome back! We missed you. You always find the greatest stuff. And that brontosaurus bone that Chomper found is just hilarious.
That’s a really amazing place so envious of how many agates and petrified wood. We can find the same things in Scotland, but they’re tiny and normally found on the seashore….

27:57 definitely my fav. piece!
This is one of the more awesome videos I watched. There were some of the best petrified wood. And agates and Jasper's I guess. I purely watch for the agates and petrified woods though. I do like some Jasper's but only the most extreme colors. But you find the best
Amazing haul
Awesome finds! Chopper looked happy with his find too. :)

I need to head out west and hunt some rocks. My parents did some rock hounding out there before I was around. I remember my dad talking about how amazing the jasper was and these videos show me what he was talking about.
