    You're adorable - sincere, and I enjoyed listening to your instruction and review. I bought mine going through the Dallas airport on a whim - the sales guy was awesome and explained it simply on how to use it. Since then I had forgotten how to pair it and thought I better look it up - and that's how I found you. I learned some additional goodies - thank you!

    I’m an old dude of 75 with some significant hearing impairment. I’ve been using the Aftershokz for about 5 months and I truly love them. I like how light they are, how easy it is to wear them even over the same ears which are also cumbered with fairly large hearing aids. I may be quirky but I quite like the fact that there’s a bit of physical vibration when loud stuff happens in the music or the movie I’m involved with. They don’t have the extraordinary sound quality of the in-ear, over-ear, and round-ear headphones (and I have a few of those), but I have found them absolutely invaluable as well as being fun. And, they work brilliantly for mobile calls with my iPhone 6+.

    Good honest review. I am looking to replace my Plantronics BackBeat FIT which allow ambient sound while I cycle. Sounds like these will be similar, the sound is not amazing when cycling and also very low when in high wind situations but that is as expected in order to still listen to ambient noise. Might give them a try but they are pricey!

  • @h5244888
    @h52448886 жыл бұрын

    You don’t really have to pump up the volume just to make the music sound louder. If you change the equalizer to option 2 it’ll sound like there’s more bass. And just for record, option 1 for the equalizer is as if you want to hear the music with the ear plugs that comes in the package with the Trekz Titanium headphones. Option 2 like I mentioned earlier is for listening to music without the earplugs as if you were outdoors going for a run or work where you need to hear your surroundings.

    Have you tried wearing the Aftershokz over the straps of your helmet. I am an avid bike rider, and the sunglasses that I wear have a lanyard attatched to the frame. I have to put my helmet on first, then my sunglasses to avoid snagging of the lanyard to the helmet. I think that if you wear the Aftershokz over the helmet straps, they won't be so bulky.

    I just ordered mine a couple of days ago.. Hopefully it's a good buy. My very first bone conduction headphone. Btw, i just got a tip that if you use android phones, you can go to the settings 'sound and vibration' then 'sound and quality effects', then 'Adapt sound'. I then check the 30 to 60 years old ( i'm 50 ). The sound should be better with extra bass added.. I will try this when i receive my Aftershokz Titanium.. :):) Already produce better sound on my phone speaker as we speak

    I chose the ocean blue version. And no, you don’t need to put the volume to maximum in order to hear over other noises. Changing the equalizer will give you more bass, along with a slightly increase maximum volume. Plus, you can turn the volume up more on your phone.

    Thanks for the review, the comfort with the glasses and helmet on is my main concern, in your review you have your glasses on then headphones, then helmet straps over both, have you tried putting the headphones and glasses on over your helmet straps? I think this would be more comfortable if it's practical to do it that way? Thanks.

  • @Milestonerides

    @Milestonerides

    The reason why I put on my glasses > headphones > helmet is because it makes it easier for me to take them off in the reverse order. I would remove my helmet first, then the headphone, and then the sunglasses. If I was to use your sequence, I will most likely rip out the glasses and headphone when I take off the helmet. I've tried different sequences but nothing seemed to make the bulk better. There's no way to really avoid it when you're wearing a helmet.

    I'll get one to use it to hear podcasts and make calls. Obviously this could be done without problems. It seems that the product needs our ears for the static. To solve the problem for bike sports use, what is very important, I had the idea to lead the laze, that should be able to be customized in his size, from below. This won't work without fixing it over our ears with carbon fibre (3 mm). The second idea is to incorporate the system in sport sunglasses, with known exchangeable glasses. To produce reliably a joint with a known name like f.e. UVEX would be charming. I won't buy such a sunglass without being sure to get a replacement of the glasses. Thanks for the test Milestone. Greetings from Palatina, Germany.

    Just ordered a set of the Air model this morning, and came across a Titanium demo at Sam's. In my experience, the music doesn't play in your head, like people say... It plays in front of your ears and is totally audible by the outside world. The only bone conduction I "heard" was muddy bass when I plugged my ears. Maybe the fir wasn't right, but I'm kinda regretting my Air purchase, and I've not got them yet... We'll see.

    I've been using the Airs for a week now... They're going back. I'm not a fan. The sound quality isn't where I would like it to be (I feel like I have realistic expectations), and the volume needs to be too high to hear the music properly, so the benefit of the open-air design is negated.

    I wouldn't rule that out as law enforcement won't even know what this is. Legally we are allowed to ride with 1 earpiece in our ear but if they don't know that the device is not in your ear from afar. YMMV so you may still get pulled over.

    Me too, I love this headphone but I would not wear them riding on the street or with group ride. But, I would wear them riding on a close trails (bikes, runners and walkers trail), while spinning in the garage or at the gym. They are also excellent while flying, put on your foam earplugs and they work better than noise cancelling.

    Nope. In my video, there was a scenario where you can definitely hear it if it’s cranked up loud enough. As mentioned by others, you can plug your ears and that should help isolate the sound better and not requiring to up the volume. For bicycle touring, I wouldn’t want to do that.

    Hmm.... In your vid you showed that others could hear it if it's loud enough. That's where I feel really confused. So they added some small speakers? If it's vibrations ALONE then it's not possible to disturb others at all, ain't it?

    To me, the bleeding noise is the trade off of being able to use them while working out and hearing the world around you. In most cases you'll be running/cycling past the people that might hear them. Basically like a car...

    i dont own a car, i bycicle everywhere, and in my city there are no bike lanes and bycicles cant be ridden on the side walk, these are to loose to deal with for bumps, etc. so i stick with bose alto frames, yeah they arnt bone cunducting, but they arnt in ear or over ear either, having a decent pair of sunglasses that also works for calls, music and more is superior to me. if you do alot of running you may want to check em out, walmart around me has em for about $130

  • @WatsitTooyah

    These are probably best for quiet environments where you want to be able to hear your surroundings. Voice is crystal clear but they quickly fall apart with complex instrumentals. They have their own specific use case (what headphones don't?) but I like them. I prefer the bose soundsport free for cycling, as they can be turned up without hurting the quality of sound Although they likely aren't legal for cycling in Cali.

    Jim Canady i've been using the predecessor, less comfortable Bluez2 with Oakley fast jacket and Native eyewear' version and a helmet on commutes for a little over two years. It's very doable. However, the headphones take priority (put on first) and remember that shield sunglasses earpiece do not wrap around the ear, but sits on top. My point is YMMV. I'd imagine the Trekz Titanium is about equivalent to the most comfortable around the neck headphones. if you can take that, then you should be fine, if not you need to look elsewhere. Personally I think they are actually slightly more optimized for cycling (goes under helmet but less shaking of the head) then running or other sports. However if you are an audiophile, it won't be acceptible (there is no bass and you need to pump the volume for road cycling speeds, at least on the bluez2 which are slightly weaker than these) and you can't listen to anything when descending or if it's very windy (e.g. when i cross the Golden Gate Bridge, I pause the music by tapping the multifunction). One small nicety is I've answered phone calls easily on my ride with them on. Though I found it best to slow way down or pull over to talk (noise cancellation is only good at low speeds plus I personally found my road attention is weaker on the bike).

Try them first if you can. For me they are the best headphones for cycling period. Do not expect HiFi sound.

    I bought this product after watching several review vids. My opinion...If I am using it correctly, it's not good. Real headphones are much more superior in sound. I have to connect back to bluetooth everytime I switch off and then comeback to use it. Again the sound is NOT good. To me it's just a standard headset speakers. The closer I move it to my ear canal the better I hear it. You definitely don't want this is a somewhat noisy warehouse environment. Which is why I bought mine to listen to music and still hear announcements. Plus the headset does move around slightly which affects how you hear it. I mean just a tiny bit of movement and it's worst [or better depending if the movement moved it toward the ear canal].

    Purchased them 3 days ago taking them back tomorrow. They have too many negatives for 100.00 dollars. The fit is goofy cannot get a solid fit, they shake when riding a bike, you have to blast them to get good sound and people around you hear them. The phone quality is poor. Thye buzz and vibrate your head more than expected. Not happy at all really wanted to like the product, waste of time.

    These headphones SUCK! The sound quality is shit. No bass at all. It's like listening to your favorite music through a small 1970's transistor radio. I also ride a bike to work and there is so much wind noise when going over 15 or 20 miles an hour. I returned these after trying really hard to give them a chance. But they sucked too hard.
