    I have these and I love them. I suggest getting a pair of hero type earplugs that musicians use to block some of the outside noise. They make them sound so much better, the bass really comes through. The good thing about the higher quality earplugs, is they don't muffle outside noise, as they cut all frequencies equally, and depending on how far you insert them in your ear you can still hear what's going on around you. Another use is to be able to listen to music and audiobooks/podcasts at the same time. I pair the Trekz to an Ipod and have a set of Airpods connected to my phone. That way I can mix the two together, and as a bonus the Treks sound better with the airpods in my ears, same affect as the earplugs.

    Hi Ben, nice review and I’m definitely getting one of these to use during my runs and cycling since “safety” is a top priority. Different topic aside. What shoes do you use for marathon race days and what rotation shoes for marathon training? Appreciate the response if you find the time..

    So I just got mine. When you have ear plugs in, you can keep the volume low and get GREAT fidelity. If there is a lot of ambient noise it is not great but most people aren't running in loud everyday traffic, so great for podcasts on the trails or suburbs. Takes time to get use to the vibrations on the temple if you crank the volume.

    Somewhat a niche use, but if you are spending an afternoon with a chainsaw (and therefore ear plugs) you can listen to that podcast while you work. You can even take calls still - just be aware that the sound bone conducts out to you but the microphone is the conventional type so you will need to stop sawing for the other person to hear your replies :)

    Hello Ben, great review, I like your videos and I'm impressed when I see your runs. I've had a look to the AfterShokz already a view years ago, but the batterie was very limitted these products for runs longer than marathons. Now these products seems to be modified. Have you also tested the "Aeropex" which are with IP68 and 8 hours of battery time? I'm not sure which one to buy. I sometimes run also Ultramarathons, longer than 7 hours... Thank you for your comments. Kind regards!

    The Aeropex are new to me, which means they're new. Personally, I'm inclined to believe the claims of longer battery life. They seem another iterative improvement of the product just like the Air were to the Titanium, which improved on the Bluez 2, which improved... I'll stick to my Airs, but buying new I'd go with the Aeropex, both for the better waterproofing and the longer battery life.

    Thanks for your feedback, since a few days I have the Aeropex. I was ill and just yesterday running with these. It's great and they are sitting on the head like nothing. It's my first AfterShokz product. The sound is ok, enough for me as it is just for sports like running.

  • @Steamrick

    I use mine for cycling mostly, though I used to go jogging as well. The Aftershokz are the only product that really works for me. I get to stay aware of the environment and they just don't move on your head, ever, even if you go headbanging. Sure, audio quality isn't on par with equally-priced on-ears or in-ears (both of which I own, Shure SE215 and beyerdynamic DT 990 Pro) but that's a moot point because they're both useless for cycling through the city while it's raining and generally more obtrusive. The in-ears are for public transport and the on-ears are for at the desk, mostly.

Now I feel the headphones uncomfortable, pressure on the possition of the Aftershokz in front of the ear and on the right side as well behind. Do you have any trick? Thanks in advance. Best regards

    Hi Katherine. Thank you. I don't wear glasses, so can't really comment. I've worn these headphones for many hours (without glasses) and they are still comfortable on longer runs. And often just forget to take them off when I get home as don't realise I'm wearing them. Sorry I can't help more!

  • @BenParkes

    @BenParkes

    Hey! I tend to buy a few on iTunes now and then. I listen to podcasts mainly, as find audiobooks expensive for what they are. It would cost be about £4 per run if I listen to them!! I used iTunes as then I can transfer them to my iPod shuffle, so I can listen to them in Ultras. None of the other platforms support the shuffle. A few friends do rate Audible, although I've personally never tried it, as get worried about subscribing to things.. just me being cheap basically!

  • @BenParkes

    @BenParkes

    Hi Tor. I do talk about the sound quality, but yes.. not in it's own category. Will add a section for sound quality when I next review headphones. If you're in a quiet environment then I'd say they'd be 6/10.. if you're in a city, so a bit noisy, then 3/10. Not great... but then they are really just designed to listen to music and be safe.

    I can't find an answer to this question: Does it have to be connected to a phone, or can it work like a stand alone mp3 player (any internal storage?), if I want to run with music without taking my phone on the run?

  • @BenParkes

    @BenParkes

    5 жыл бұрын

    They do have to be connected to a phone yes. No internal storage. Or there is a option to get a Garmin 645 Music, or Fenix 5+ which can store music on the watch and send it to the headphones. Then you won't need your phone on the run.

    I had a pair of Aftershokz Bluez headphones for a few years and they recently died and i want to replace them. How do these compare with the titaniums, what do you get for the extra money?

  • @BenParkes

    @BenParkes

    5 жыл бұрын

    Hi Craig. I haven't had a pair of titaniums, so can't comment directly. As far as I'm aware the Air's are quite a bit lighter and they are meant to have a more comfortable fit. The standby battery lasts a bit longer, but playtime is in fact the same. It's probably just a case of the best price you can get a pair for, as they are very similar!

  • @tlfelder9275

    @tlfelder9275

    5 жыл бұрын

    I've used both, an IMO the titantiums sound a little better but the trekz air feel better as they are lighter. I'm currently using the airs I'm able to wear them all day without them pinching the back of my ears like the titantiums do. So I think u sacrifice a little bit of sound for comfort, however if u use earplugs with the airs, they sound just as good as the titantiums.

    Look nice but pricey for the relatively low sound quality you get. I love running with my AirPods. They don’t completely block your ears and the quality is really good. Also no annoying cord to rub against your neck and battery lasts for 5 hours and recharges really quickly with the case that comes with it and gives you 24 hours worth of battery life. Can also take calls seamlessly whilst on the run or for work. and they only cost £159. New version out soon too.

    I do see a lot of runners with AirPods.. but always think they'd just fall out in my ears if I give it a bit of effort.. then the person behind would step on them and that would be £159 gone! Are you going to be buying the new version?! Probably a silly question knowing you!! haha

    I second the failings of AirPods is that they slip out of my ears as soon as I get a little sweat going. They are small enough I misplace them. If I was going to suggest in-ear headsets, I keep Jaybird X3 bluetooth headsets and they are brilliant. But I really wanted these Aftershokz for running so that I didn't have to worry about sweat in the ears at all.
