The KKK in the Philippines is purely named from the Tagalog Language. We don’t have any associations before with Americans whatsoever during the 1800s. The acronym has no relation whatsoever with what’s happening in the US.

KKK in the Phillpines was the abbreviation for e Kataas-taasang, Kagalang-galangang, Katipunan ng mga Anak ng Bayan (Supreme and Venerable Association of the Sons of the Nation)

Please remember that there was no internet back then so no one else knows what was happening on the other side of the world, even the name, so it was purely coincidence on the abbreviation.

Isn't it great to find out the world does not just revolve around one nation or country or race? And one word can mean something to one something else to another? This is what I love about the internet. We can learn about other nations history.

Probably the beginning 🤷🏾‍♀️ …but there are language barriers/tone differences, etc. so we try not to jump to conclusions.

nope, PPP is a HORRIBLE acronym The Philippines (nor any country) DOESN'T HAVE TO BE BEHOLDEN and ADJUST TO ANY COUNTRY'S SENSITIVITES (though yes it will be a KINDNESS, IF done so), as they have their own meanings and values The Philippines KKK WAS NOT INSPIRED BY AMERICAN KKK, Kirby said HE was the one inspired by the PHILIPPINES' KKK. He also said that the Filipinos were the ones inspired by the Philippines KKK and NOT by American KKK The people in the hoods in Philippines' KKK were the people who were brought in the SECRET place for the INITIATION into the organization. As lives were on the line, SECRECY MUST BE VERY TIGHT. Kataas-taasang - Most supreme/highest Kagalang-galangan - Most venerable/most respectable Katipunan - Assembly/union/collection (root word tipon means conservation/saving in terms of money or other resources) Should they have used another synonymous words for those three words? Maybe, but like how in literature and golden proverbs, it's a MEMORY TRICK to use ALLITERATIONS. The alliteration of the Philippines KKK is helpful to fanning the flames of the fight for freedom. Furthermore, in those days, words were not as wide as today's, as word were still 'young'. Perhaps some words now has more than a handful or lessened, depending on how many and how words are used. Historically, Filipinas were only under PATRIARCHY when the ABRAHAMIC Faiths (Islam and Christianity) came to Philippines. Before them, the Filipinas had LOTS of freedoms LIKE divorce, same with the LBGTQ+

@@TheDemouchetsREACT I understand and can see where they funny parts are, but I'm stressing out the clarifications, and things that aren't easily understood. Many things are still a universal ongoing debate: Word Reclamations - 'rebranding' (ex. like the word 'girl', the word 'n', etc - should people not use them because they're highly sensitive words, or should people use them so as to lessen their power on people?) Symbols - 'rebranding'/replacing (an example of this is like those controversial statues we see in public - should they be taken down and replaced, or be left alone to show to people that, yes, it happened and it's a reminder to not repeat history?)

Because? You might have found something interesting in it, even if it was the same KKK. People from the other side of the planet ( not connected to US history in any way ) might have had a different pov on something.

@@susivarga7303 I was born and grew up in the Apartheid era and as much as I would like to believe that I have have gone beyond the ravages brought by that upbringing since the "end" of Apartheid in 1994, I still have hangups and scars from that traumatic experience. As a result I have an aversion to any organization that espouses white supremacist tendencies or any organization that styles itself on that ideology. Looking at the title of the video my initial thinking was that the Filipino organization styled itself and was inspired by the American organization and as a result I lumped them as being birds of the same feathers.
