    Fun Fact: during the Philippine-American war lots of African-american defected to fight alongside the Philippines. Maybe that is just one of reasons we get along till this day

    The Aetas of Zamabales are different from the Aetas of Pampanga. The problem is there are a lot of indigenous tribes in the Philippines (I belong to the Igorot tribe of Cordillera) but both tribes have similarities when it comes to tradition, clothes, and food. It's true that white skin is being glorified nowadays but some tribes have had fair skin long before especially when you live in the mountains.

    I met the guy who teaches jungle survival. We had a class field trip in Subic and he was the one who taught us how to make fire using bamboo.

    I love content about our indigenous people so much. We are so diverse. My dad is naturally very very tan, like the skintones of the aeta, but my mom is naturally light. My dad's side has straight hair and my mom's has curly/wavy hair. Even in our family pictures it's a mix. It's sad that mostly only the light skinned, straight haired people get the spotlight. Loads of Filipinos I know have naturally wavy/curly hair, as do I, but getting it rebonded (straight permed) is quite common... this goes for the rest of Asia too, since majority of the hair texture there is straight, so there are barely, if any, products available. It's not equal, resources and rights are not fairly distributed or shared... Have you watched the Safeguard commercial with Norman King? Based on his true life.

    I totally agree that the militaries should be funding the community. I'm sure those countries take advantage of cheap labor and training which can save the soldiers' lives.

    The Negritos are like the American Indians who are the earliest migrant in the Philippines. They came ahead of the Malaysians and Indonesians that made the Philippines a diverse country.

    Why is the Filipino government abusing Aeta Land rights? If the lighter skinned Filipinos are relatives rather than invaders as you seem to state.

    Almost Filipino are not really pure, like me i was a mixture of many different blood. Even the ancestor of my grandfather from my mother side have the blood of Ate the negretos in Visayas. The first to come in our country were aetas, second was endones, and third malays, for sure most of us have their bloods even spaniards and chinnese mixed with our bloods. Many Filipinos could managed imitating many accent althought its not so very perfect. Our toungue is very flixible.

    It is not fair for US and Philippines governments to restrict Negrito livelihood skills to teaching soldiers jungle survival skills only😢 is that the reason why these people are kept out of the media? This is serious neglect - no schools or social facilities

  • @itsmisha647

    @itsmisha647

    That's just not true. They are not restricted to only jungle survival training as livelihood. The problem is that the Aeta tribes live deep in the mountains separate from regular Filipino villages where schools are usually located. It is their choice whether they get their formal education or not or work regular jobs when they come of age. They do have centers where they gather to socialize or hold celebrations but its exclusive to their tribe. But they do welcome occasional tourists and invited guests, both Filipino and foreign.
