I like your comments @ 14:30 when you said you like when other people see you as a black person and stirred away from you. I used to ask some black friends why are you mad a or cried racism when white person or another race do that? Me I could care less. I had an experience in a bus where no one wanted to seat besides me while they all cramped up in the front of the bus. I was just smiling and put my feet and my bag on the other seat. IT was a joy ride😂

as a filipino we used to have black people because we have black ancestors the "NEGRITOS", being black is not a big deal here in the Philippines, we treat them with dignity😊

There are more black people in my town (Cebu City) than ever before. Most of them are students together with their families. We, Filipinos, approach foreigners like they family, man. One time I saw this huge black fella and he look mean & scary but when I spoke to him, his smile made him a totally different dude than I thought he was. We friends ever since. He's originally from Nigeria.

Everything is just about having proper information to educate everybody with the things that we are not used to for better understanding and acceptance…Generally we Filipinos are hospitable, accommodating, respectful, helpful and full of kindness and compassion. Racism is not in our character, only the western culture and media influenced some uneducated of that minority 1 out of a 100, which are supposed to be blamed with. By history we also suffered a lot of racism and discrimination, thus, we understand the feeling of to be despised and through that we learned to live life far away from its vicious nature. May God’s bless that we remain in humility and love. ❤️🇵🇭🙏✌️

The Philippines is an extremely open country, you won't face any discrimination in the Philippines. On the contrary, as a black Canadian or African American, you will be welcomed with open arms because Filipinos are generally friendly and kind people. I face more discrimination in my home country than in the Philippines.

To shed some light on the covering the nose thing. Our country is pretty hot and humid. So whatever little body odor you have will permeate the surrounding areas. In my experience, some foreigners, especially those that come from colder climates or dry weather do not know this. Most are also not used to deodorants. Filipinos too will be discriminated if they smell off, i.e. smell like the sun or smell sour. That is why we have to wash our hair and body at least once a day and deodorants are a must especially to those that commute in public vehicles.

Who says that only foreigners experience a biography interview or interrogation by a person or persons with smiley curious faces. When I went along on a vacation to a place or province that speaks a different language from ours, I only just had to speak to them with our national language Filipino (or tagalog). But while buying something on the local convenient store, someone noticed that I didn't have that "tagalog" native accent. A quick "kumusta", and after one or two friendly harmless questions. Then somebody said, "so where you from? ". Little did I know that it is the first question of the dreaded smiling interrogation. No one is safe. Filipinos, don't ever say that you came from a province that speaks a different language with the local interrogators. That experience may be okay and may sometimes even be fun for foreigners, and maybe it can also be for me, but I doubt it because since it's much easier for them to speak in tagalog than in english, aside from the too personal questions, I sometimes would also get 2 or 3 simultaneous questions that are also sometimes all personal questions. Don't

Yeah I don't think BLM mattered much in the PH. 😅 The change we see now is because the black people who came earlier didn't reinforce the stereotypes. They were good people, so they were respected and accepted. Plus all the exposure to black people in media and the internet.

It is not that we disrespect by covering our nose, it just that our nose are very sensitive to smell it is not just by a foreign but also to local Pilipino if they stink it is normal for us to joke and kid around "maligo kana ang baho-baho mo ang daming tubig" translate to "go take a bath you really stink and there's a lot of water" it is a normal joke for a pilipino, pinoy usually a very hygienic person in general. Didn't mean to do that at first foriegn people will get offended but if you get used to it will become the joke in town and you will laugh about it. Even me my wife use to say i stink after i sweat doing something...😂😂😂

Honestly Filipinos aren't actually affected much by racism, we tend to lean more on the character, personality and traits of anyone we meet. Color nor race don't matter to us, if you present yourself as good people and know how to treat your fellowmen square and fairly you're all good with us!
