Just to clarify, Aeta's are Filipinos. (coz there is a statement that said "half negrito/aeta and half filipino" - which might give the wrong impression that aeta's are not filipinos) and fun fact: Aeta's lived in the Philippines even before the country was named as "Philippines" - that's the main reason why the Ph government respects the Aetas ancestral lands and customs since they own the lands even before the first government was established.

I don’t doubt that the Aeta have been there for the longest, but with all due respect, the term “The Philippines” didn’t even exist pre-colonization for the term “Pinoy” (from Fili-Pino + -y(small)) to exist beforehand. Like the first peoples of the Americas, the indigenous peoples of different regions originally had their own names for themselves. In the modern world, if you went there and told a random tan woman who you assume to be half Chinese/Spanish that she’s a fake Pinay, you would come across as mean and unaware. The Aeta aren’t all pure blooded either, and that’s fine. They’re all a family and shouldn’t be divided on authenticity about who the real Pinoys/Pinays are.

They are Filipino, and not of African descent they are more related to Melanesians (Pacific islands) and the indiginous of Australia. While the majority of Filipinos are descendents of Malays/Austronesians who immigrated from the mainland of Asia. The first people in the Philippines who named 'Filipinos" where actually Spaniards born in The Philippines.

I have been telling people about the Aeta for years we, USMC, used to train with the brothers. They taught us Jungle Survival. You'd be surprised this is common knowledge to most Africans in the diaspora, except in America. Go to Malaysia you will find brothers there as well. Another thing you will find the more you travel most "Africans" outside America have a more dignified way they comport themselves.

LITERALLY the Aeta is not of Negroid race. They're purely a Mongoloid stock migrated directly from South of the Ganges in the last ice age. The Aeta is THE ancestor of US FILIPINOS! Aetas are Filipinos! Not of any other race that you imply them to be!

Not that the media doesn't like to show the black asians or indigenous group of Filipinos, it's just because they live in the very remote area like deep inside the mountains and they are like Nomads- they travel to one place to another to find things that will help them survive. Also, a lot of them don't like to go beyond what they are used to live. I was about to help a Dumagat (from an Aeta group- indigenous group of Filipinos) to finish her senior high school to college, but she prefers to live with his boyfriend to be a wife and live in the mountains. That's why it is hard to find indigenous group of Filipinos on TV or social media. They are small in number in terms of population, as well.

While a lot of Filipinos are predominantly Austronesian (Hawaiians, Taiwanese Aborigines, etc.) which are descendants of the masters of Pacific navigation, the original inhabitants of most of the region are them. They predated most migrations by thousands of years, even tens of, and are related to the Melanesians, Sentinelese, and probably the Dravidians from India who also traces back from the earlier waves of human migrations. A lot of Filipinos have some traces of ancestry from the Aeta tribes intermixing at different degrees in the past.

  • @DarkR0ze

  • @hentype

    11 ай бұрын

@@DarkR0ze the Oceanian aborigines are the earliest known human migrations out of Africa, about 50 000 years ago which is crazy since around this time the Homo Erectus, Neanderthals and Denisovans were still around and probably intermixing with the Homo Sapiens migrants through Eurasia and the Pacific Islands, and the Dravidian-related migrations are of a later wave, probably some time after the last Ice age. But after that there had been some movements of people back and forth so some people in closer proximities like the Eastern regions of Indonesia and Southern Philippines have traces of Oceanian aboriginal DNA. This shows how the modern Oceanian aborigines have a higher percentage of Denisovan DNA traces while modern Africans have neither Neanderthal nor Denisovan traces in their DNA.

I'm so sorry but 2:15 that statement must be corrected. The Philippine Aeta people are not originally from Africa. Aetas decended from an ancient East Eurasian population which is the same population East Asians descended from. Aetas and all Negrito tribes in Southeast asia are just as Asian as East Asians like Koreans, Japanese, Chinese. Their ancestry is deeply rooted in SouthEast Asia. While the Negrito populations, including the Aeta, share some physical traits with African populations, these similarities are due to convergent evolution, where similar environmental conditions lead to the development of similar traits in unrelated populations.

Yep, these are facts. But sadly, as European colonization spread across most of the inhabited parts of the Philippines Islands, so did colorism. You have many Filipinas (because it is mostly women that feel this way), that consider dark skin to be ugly and spend as much money as they can on skin whitening products. You will see many of them walking around with umbrellas to prevent their skin from getting dark. The African history being unrecorded for the most part is how colorism has literally slapped their dark skin ancestors in the faces. Look at the media in the Philippines, they all look like they are white. This is a theology that has been taught to them over the centuries of steady colonization.

I can agree on the skin whitening stuff and all the things people would do to avoid getting darker skin but I'd like to correct you on the how colorism spread part Colorism in The Philippines was a thing long before European colonization, the higher classes like let's say the datus, sultans, chiefs would usually have the privilege to stay in doors while the lower classes would do outside work and usually have darker complexions because of it Skin whitening's goal in The Philippines isn't to look like a white person, it's to look like a "higher class" that had been rooted deep into Philippine history that somehow still influences our mentality today.

Southernbrotha, every human is aware of color. It has nothing to do with "colonialism". Enough with the "blame whitey" narrative. If you understood the Phillpines, you'd know that the skin bleaching isn't to look white or emulate white, it's to look Korean or maybe Japanese. (They love Korean soap operas and singers). Also, light skin is associated with not having to work outside, and has been like that for eons.

Honestly these guys aren't African at all or related to them in anyway genetically. Their DNA is similar to other Austronesians and Asians. They also tend to have Neanderthal and Denisovan DNA, none of which are common amongst so-called Black or African folks. They are like the Jarawas who also are dark skinned but have zero African/Black DNA markers.

@@sherylsutherland1183 I think you the one who needs to do more research my lady, especially on how Genetics work, DNA Divergent and Mutation ,also on Convergent evolution. These people are descendants of people who migrated out of Africa around 65 000 years ago, hence i said earlier that they are related to other Austronesians and Asian peoples, their DNA markers say that much......... ............ You need to understand that modern indigenous Africans in Africa and their recent descendants in the diaspora like the Americas and Europe have a different DNA marker, the E1b1a mitochondrial haplogroup or in some cases like East Africans, the E1b1b marker. None of the indigenous peoples outside Africa have those, irrespective of whether their phenotype looks African or not. Even the Khoi and San tribes of Southern Africa, who are one of the oldest living peoples in the world have a different DNA marker(haplogroup L0 mtDNA) to these people........... ......... My point still stands THESE PEOPLE ARE NOT AFRICAN AT ALL OR RELATED TO ANY INDIGENOUS AFRICAN TRIBES LIVING TODAY.
