    Thank you! Excellent description and video! The dealer fed us a line of Bull Hockey that the BOTTOM bracket shouldn't be against the jamb so the slider is "tilted" to let water run away from the trailer. I'd love to see how to remove the decorative trim without destroying it! PHOOEY!

    Thank you for your video. You have explained how to adjust the slideout cables the best I have ever seen. I have had a problem with my cables sense the first camping trip. My trailer was brand new and the first trip we went on, a cabinet door got left open. When bringing in the main slide. One of the cables popped off and I was supposed to be out of my camp site. I did what I could to get us home. I took it to camping world and got the warranty run around. I worked for camping world Valencia I believe 1979 - 1985. It was a great experience back then. We installed generators, AC units, levelers, awnings. You name it we installed it. We installed them for just 5.00 dollars per item. Back in those days RVs didn't come with all the accessories or slideouts that they come with now days. We also didn't sell RVs. Anyways I ended up messing around with my cables. A couple years ago I looked up above my slide and the cables were drooping, twisted and clipping each other. Again, I messed around with them. The next few times I went out the slide would go in and out really slow. So, I changed the batteries out because they were over five years old. I installed a 300ah lithium battery which didn't change anything still goes in and out slowly. Anyways I just watched your video and feel that the problem will be cured. I think I have the cables a little Tite and is putting a strain on my motor. amping out my motor. While I am working on this do you need to lube any of these pulleys or cables? Again this an excellent video. Well done. Thanks

    Finally a vid that covers Bal Accuride adjustments!!! I have a 13 Bullet Premiere and have been goofing around with these cables a few times until I also figured out start with the slide fully out and adjust the bottom cables then top. I use electricians putty on the adjusters since the foam blocks are old now and fall off.

    Thank you for the education. 🙂 working on my 2008 Monaco LaPalma XL Diesel. rear slide is pinion drive, has operated flawlessly. front slide is cable. all it does is brake cables. it looks like since day 1 the two upper pulley brackets, had t he lower pulley jammed by the rail at the top of the slide opening. I had to cut the metal to free the pulleys. hopefully it will stop breaking cables. slide a mis-aligned as well. wonder it ever worked. I can only assume it was a MFG installation error.. Thank you for the education.

    This all great but do you make house calls? Because my slide out is bad that God is crying with me. Can I take both chains off at the same time to start over?

  • @wingede10
    @wingede103 жыл бұрын

    Is this true? The clearance between your slide T edge/fascia and the cut-out sidewall has grown to a point where making adjustments cannot overcome the excessive clearance. That is why we add an additional seal on the inside, in order to make up for the excessive gap. This happens sometimes after slides get old and maybe have had a lot of use, the structure of the slide frame work can get to a point that it is not plumb, or square, anymore. Consequently the geometry of the slide is no longer the way it was when it was first built.

    Is there adjustments to re-center the slide box, rubbing on one side and gap on the other. Seal on the rubbing side is getting damaged?

    AWESOME video, great detail like no other. I've got a north trail 22fbs. I'm not having issues yet ! But I noticed slack in the cables and looking above, the chain is way loose. Seemed a little confusing in a way but once I get in there it'll make more sense once I get hands on. It'd be great if you made more Heartland videos. Blessings brother

    I have this system in my trailer. Yesterday I made some cable adjustments and was really happy with the movement of the slide. Supper smooth even. This morning, doing some more maintenance, I applied some 3 in 1 silicon lube to the seals, and today, the slide out movement is super jumpy and shakes the entire trailer while moving in and out! PLEASE point me in the right direction to correct this!

    You want to add rollers on the bottom. It's common since there's nothing more than a plastic wipe under the slide. Mine bounces too so I'll be adding the rollers. There's a couple vids on YT for this. Depending on your length, you may need 4 or 5.

  • @Mogalize

    @@chrisabcdefg8171 I gave the underside of the slide a wash to get as much silicon off as I could then reapplied with the rubber slide conditioner and it slides fine again. There was sticky grim on the underside that would bind up on the plastic slide you mentioned

    Is there a place you can go to be a Master Tech? Because I don't get it. My flight out now is worse than I started, it's so bad I'm afraid to even touch it. So I have a slider it's half-in half-out and can't afford to pay someone to come fix it.

    I’m watching this man’s video so I can properly adjust our cables because we had the same issue that you are experiencing right now. There is a multitude of things that can go wrong so we are going to finish up our video for KZread in the next day or two but to get you started right now, is there power to the motor? Can you hear the motor trying at all? Did you blow a fuse? Is there something obstructing the slide from retracting? Such as a simple water bottle those suckers get in there all the time. One of our cables bound up in between the walls that we could not see preventing it from retracting and it what is the top cable, once it was disconnected we had the other three cables that pulled it in and of course with the help of pushing outside on the slide to go in. Drove 400 miles with only three cables, it was OK. Be sure to check out our channel and subscribe. When you’re all done this guys video will be the best one that you can find for cable adjustment.

    Everyone skips over the part that everyones is looking for. How do you adjust the way the slide sits in the wall cutout. Like back to front. If the slide is pinching the seal at the rear. How do u move the whole slide forward a half or quarter inch. You dont. Which is why cable slides are garbage.

    4 of the 5 slides on my heartland bighorn are these style bun on the bottom instead of the top. I hate them. I paid for the pda when I bought it and they weren’t adjusted correctly. Paid another business to adjust them and didn’t work correctly. I’ve tried and had a little success but still terrible design and very difficult to get to especially under the bed.
