    This video would be great for someone totally familiar with the system and how it works. It left me with my head spinning. Definitely a "high speed crash course".

    Most folks that have cable driven slideouts are very intimidated by them. This video, although fast paced, is an EXCELLENT "how to do it". Cudos!!

    Totally agree with you George. Very intimidating. Not very comfortable doing any adjustments on mine. Yet.

    You are wickedly talented at what you do and although you are 2 steps ahead mentally, the learner is 2 steps behind. You were able to get us back on the road so that we can not thank you enough. If you want a suggestion from your target audience... We would love if you would be willing to redo it slower. Things to consider if you choose do redo: 1)Starting position, out or in? 2) Briefly how does it work, what is opposite what. 3)Your RV is new so you can see all the components, we took off the covering however, we can not see the bottom brackets you were referring to. What advice do you have if we can not see this bracket. 4) When the guy ask you the question the tangent about the baby setup lost me. 5)When do what does it look like when it is out and in. Do the cords loosen or tighten in the final position? Thank you again!

    Adjusting the cables is the easy part. Taking off all of the trim from the slide box without damaging it is the hard part since we have no idea how the trim was installed and what fasteners were used. Thank you for the great video. My only suggestion is a slower version for folks not familiar with the system.

    If you have little button caps you can twist/pull those off, behind will be a screw, loosen those and the top panels should come off (if it's like mine). My side trim pieces were nailed in and I wanted a good look at the whole thing for my first try so I popped the one side off and the flimsy board broke leaving two pieces and all the staples/nails in the frame. I'll be pulling those and finding a better way to add that trim piece back.

    It looks so easy when there’s no fascia in the way. Last time we had ours serviced, they over tightened all the cables, and the bottom “out” brackets are cocked at an angle. They aren’t bent, whatever they attach to is now deformed.

    Our slide outs come in perfectly. It’s the going out that they stick and I’m trying to figure out why. Other than the fact that they have to slide across a thick ass piece of plastic.

    My slide out is tight at the top, but a big gap at the bottom. I’m gonna to try and adjust them again. This is ridiculous. Do you do house calls? I’m in Southern California Hesperia High Desert. thank you for your video it help I guess.

    Well I tried all that and motor pulled out of the wall so now I have the top of my slide out sitting against the wall , but the bottom is tilted all the way into the trailer. All my cables are off. I tried to jack the bottom up and out but it went farther in to the trailer. So I guess I messed up and now I’m screwed. If you got any ideas I sure would appreciate it. How do I get The bottom part of the slide out out. How do I get the money to stay on the wall.

  • @shadowjs1
    @shadowjs12 жыл бұрын

    What brand of trailer is that?! Where you get 6 lag bolts anchoring your motor to the wall and not three 1inch screws. Blew the motor off the wall.. Had to use a broom stick to open the bedroom fire window so i could crawl threw with a small ladder. Then shimmy between the top slide/ceiling to re-anchor the motor. That space will forever haunt me.

    Very cool, I love how there is minimal adjustment left when finished, what happens when the cables stretch as will happen over time? Is this an indicator that they be replaced?

    Tighten chain slightly to and loosen non-stretched cable. That will allow stretched cable to be tightened more.

    Where do you work? Because you make it look so easy but it is not. Do you do house calls? I just ripped the motor out of wall and room is now sitting with bottom tilted in real far, top dropped way down and now I've just have a hole in my travel trailer wall with a tilted slide out.

    You would have to loosen up the cables on whatever side at the bottom isn't touching and then you would have to jump the chain on the motor

    Every video I see of an RV manufacturing facility, the workers are flying through their jobs. I’m not sure if the workers are on some type of bonus system for meeting manufacturing goals or what. This is one of the reasons there are so many issues with new units coming off the assembly line. Light-weight materials and fast assembly = problems for the consumer.

    I think the workers are on chemicals....like the Germans gave to their WWII soldiers....Guess it’s not a highly compensated job and no one really seems to care about quality....my take on things....This guy is going like a “Speed Demon” I get little knowledge from watching this. Then he’s calling the “top cable” the “bottom”....I guess the top cable affects the travel of the bottom of the slide....just frantic and confusing! My take on things

    That's great that you can do it but you do it so fast nobody can really watch and you know what I've tried it and I tried it my cable so f***** up my slide-out room is up on one side of the floor and it's rubbing on the other side of the wall. I replaced all the cables and they're still messed up so now I have to buy eight new cables so don't make it seem so simple and easy cuz not. Give me a phone number and you can come fix it for me and I'll pay you. Vicky
