My cat got stolen last night from my 2000 Ulev Accord. I'm trying to figure out if there's a good aftermarket I can use instead of the 1300 magnaflow that's available.

My cat converter was stolen & car won't crank. It's a 3 cylinder, 2001 Honda Accord LX. It is NOT a SULEV. What else was damaged when they stole the converter? I did not have comp. Insurance. Any idea what this will cost? I have 126,000 miles on the car. Thank you.

Repair is more than the car is it worth fixing it?

With the amount of insurance work we do and the lack of the total loss claims the experts in the industry think they are worth fixing. Unless you have a car that has significantly high miles or is overly beat up, the repair is usually under 80% of the vehicles actual value which is what most insurance companies use as metric for valuation.

The disadvantage I have is I only have liability my insurance will not cover the damage and my vehicle is a ulev so I might have to get the whole exhaust system done.

@@mufflertechI just dealt with my insurance in regards to a 2001 accord with only 67,000 miles on it. It’s in decent shape, and the reason why I purchased it for my kid. Some low life stole the converter, and my insurance felt like the repair was too much. I believe because they were going to replace it with oem parts. So I too a salvage payment, since it’s a quick repair with aftermarket parts.

@@jmica01 where do you live? There’s no reason a vehicle with this low of miles should become a salvage because of a claim like this. If we were handing this at our shop we would negotiate the repair and save the car.

@@mufflertech I really didn’t want to salvage it because it’s a hassle to get it back on the road. I’m planning on keeping it a very long time, and I only paid 2,500 for it (family sold it to me). I’m in Northern California, and I just another found a shop on my own to replace it for a decent price. I think it’ll all work out in the end. I just couldn’t believe they valued my car as low as they did just because they couldn’t find another in the area with this low of miles.
