Abandoned Rail Stealth Camping

I headed down an abandoned #rail line for some stealth camping. I hoped to find a nice little spot along the tracks and fortune was on my side. Perhaps a bit too stealthy of a #camping spot as I would say there was about a 0% chance of anyone finding me. Perhaps not a nail-biting night, but any night outdoors is always good.

Steve, I've been a silent viewer. I watch but don't really comment. However, I just wanted to say that as much as I love your videos with a little extra spice, like the roundabout, I also love these types of videos that are just nice and lowkey. I'd be willing to guess that many other people in this community agree with that sentiment as well. Just do you and we'll be along for the camping ride. This was a relaxing one but I loved it, thank you for the video and thank you for just being you!

This is a very serendipitous stealth camping episode, in light of the passing of Gordon Lightfoot, who wrote and performed the Canadian Railroad Trilogy, one of his greatest hits. A stealth tribute to Gordon. 🥰 "So they looked to the future and what did they see? They saw iron road camping by a nice guy called Steve. Bringing good humor to a bunch of his fans Who can't wait to go camping across this great land."

For some reason I really like this video. It may be because you are so calm. The lack of startling encounters or near misses doesn't make it boring for me. I enjoyed the older media references, "my bags are packed and I'm ready to go" and "The Brave Little Toaster." I hope you also threw in more current ones for younger viewers to enjoy. I want you to have lots of subscribers and the support you need to continue teaching us about appreciating life.

Steve, even the most "mundane" camp with you is never, well, mundane! Charcoaling your dinner, rolling a rock, and the fact on video it looked like your hammock was in a precarious position made it a Classic Steve vid! I can't wait for the next one (they are a guilty pleasure!). A big thanks to Scott for filming the stake out spot too! Hope you're having fun on the road..and please for all our sakes STAY SAFE!!! In my non-professional cook opinion, I’d bet that chicken was meant to be baked in an oven. I would assume the corn flakes would burn before the chicken cooks when exposed to direct heat, as you discovered. Sometimes it just doesn’t work out, but you still ate it!

Former chef here, that pan wasn't hot enough in the spot where you put the chicken that the coating fell off of, and was too hot on the side that burnt the chicken. Just try to elevate the pan a bit next time so it can heat evenly :) (Side note, cook for a decade before I went to school to be a chef, not one anymore, but my chef's finals were of course cooking. I brought in my cast irons, everyone made fun of me. By the end of the competition professor chef said it was a good idea and the entire class was asking me where to get them. I had no clue, ours were handed down - who knows how old they are. Get a light weight cast iron skillet, you can more easily avoid this problem.)
