I like these twists on the theme emily!
“It’s definitely something that uncles would make fun of” Basically summarizes my vegan experience

Hahaha 😂 my uncle once called the crust of my pie at thanksgiving “bird food”… smh don’t waste my delicious pie then 😂
If you don't want to boil your miso, here's what you can do: cook the soup normally with all the ingredients except the miso. When the soup is done, take the pot off the heat. Put miso in a bowl and add a ladleful of soup broth. Mix the miso with the warm broth until it dissolves. Add the miso-broth-mixture back to the pot. Ta-da! Doing this should better preserve some of the probiotics in the miso, instead of boiling them all to death. ☺️ It's entirely optional, though! Boiling doesn't change the taste.
I am not an adventurous eater, I basically eat the same 5 meals on repeat, but this has inspired me to step out of that comfort zone!
for that empty wall you can find a shelf to lean up against it and decorate it with your nice cups or jars! I think that would look good, maybe some plants or you can do decor with cook books on it! i love your videos btw

Was thinking the same thing, or hang a large-ish piece of art on the wall (sounds like a good excuse to go thrifting to me!). Would also help to hide the old phone outlet.

@@bellemathews4088 yees that would be perfect too!
I’m so dumb. I was like “she’s literally had like all these things before” and then I realized.. I’ve already watched this video🥲😪

I put fennel seeds into an empty cheap dollar-store pepper grinder, and grind it onto pizza before baking or heating. YUM!!!
“That much, but a little more” is a very valid measurement tbh
Emily! You can buy lids for the Oui yogurt jars on their website!
I've seen people peel carrots into strips and marinate them with liquid smoke and soy sauce to make "smoked salmon." I haven't tried it, myself but it always looks good.
@janah5617

tried it at a restaurant and it was really good, made it myself and it was eh so idk :')

i worked at a vegan restaurant and that's what we had and it's really good!!
@lauxtiny

i tried it at home but to me it didn’t taste like salmon at all, it was still good kinda like pickled carrots but more smoky
The main concern with heating up miso is that you're degrading some of the probiotic benefits in it, since it's a fermented food. I've seen a lot of chefs use miso in high heat applications so I doubt it really affects the flavour!
In Portugal we eat lupini beans in brine as a free bar snack (like peanuts in other countries i think). But you are supposed to remove the skin by biting the bean and then ushing the bean out of it's skin into your mouth (it's hard to explain😅). The texture is smoother without the skin.
ok for the wall!!!!!! the blue kitchen tiles are so cute, so try find things that accentuate that: small prints, mini tapestries, a framed mirror etc. you could also get a hanging plant or maybe macrame fruit/veggie hanger for the corner closest to the cupboard ! xx
Ghee is the fat of choice in virtually all indian cooking, but it's also a finishing fat, so if you make dal/lentils, topping it off with ghee is a traditional practice, but it doesn't always fly at home because the diet is historically meant for day laborers who eat lots of carbs and fat that gets burned off throughout the day. It's great with desserts as a butter alternative. Traditional ghee is actually non-dairy because the milk solids are separated from the finished product. Not vegan, just non-dairy. Yeah. Pie crusts, whathaveyou... if you want to fry anything like onions or vegan omelettes, ghee is fun.

Love ghee, but it's certainly not the fat of choice in "all" Indian cooking, especially south indian🙃also bengali, i guess? We prefer oils
@maiabhakta
2 жыл бұрын
@@SaipriyaNagarajanSN coconut oil is pretty ubiquitous at this point so I don't see why you have to fight for it, esp. when most indian desserts use ghee. I also said "virtually" which is the qualifying term in the statement, but I am not surprised at all because you are South Indian and you really like forcing your way into the conversation, like it's territory.
If you liked the black sesame drink, look out for black sesame soy milk next time you visit an asian(or better yet, specifically Chinese) grocery store!! They usually have it refrigerated beside the regular soy milk, and i think you'll enjoy it cuz it'll probably be richer and have a stronger sesame flavour
the things i would do for a grocery outlet, i shouldve made that a top requirement for picking a college two years ago
Emily! My favourite salad ever uses beets and it’s: arugula, beets, cucumber, sunflower seeds, vegan feta (the salty works really well - I used to eat with goat cheese but this works great too) + dressing of soy sauce, maple syrup, apple cider vinegar and extra virgin olive oil. If you have dark rye bread with it, that’s another level as well!
i had a really bad day but when i came home from work and saw you uploaded, it made me feel at least a little better. youre such a vibe ily and i hope you have a good day

Yessssss that dairy-free oui is my favorite yogurt!! I also re-use the jars as little drinking glasses in our bathroom for when we brush our teeth ☺️ The Café bustelo I love for when I make whipped dalgona coffee(with oat milk). It’s SO good 😩
My fav part was the evolution of the wall in the back throughout the vid
omg those vive energy shots gave me WAR FLASHBACKS to when i was taking one every day in my car before entering my covid infested household 😭 you really gotta do it all in one go or it's so bad!
I would take the instant espresso and make a concentrated syrup and add it to milk for iced lattes in the AM. And also peel n stick wallpaper on the bare wall!
I had some fire vegan smoked salmon bagels in Chicago, they used pickled carrots with special seasoning as the salmon and it was really good
Yes definitely do a part 2! Love this idea
Amazing timing! Ive been sick the past couple days and your videos always are just the best yay
I love everything you do, Emily. You are amazing!
omg i love the changes you've made to the kitchen decor - the blue tile is so cute. 💙
Love the kitchen makeover! Thanks for another great video 😍😍
I so appreciate your honestly about the flavor and price/value of these products!
Your videos are so comfy idk how or why but very relaxing, homey and comfy ✨
For the mirin, you'll want to add some sugar or another sweetener to sub cuz mirin is a sweet rice wine!
i’m in quarantine right now and this is giving me life 🙌🏻🙌🏻
This theme was really fun! I should try this too sometime, there are several things I've been meaning to try. I do wish I had a grocery outlet haha but it makes me happy you have one and find good deals. Also, loved the dog cameo
I don’t have much to say other than you are such a beautiful person! Oh and thank you for the entertainment- absolute gold!
Yay 😁 finally a new video!!! Love your videos
just randomly came across your channel, watched a couple vids and definitely love your chill vibes and all the food of course! instant follow haha
Your meals keep getting better and better and more creative ❤️your videos are really therapeutic and super adventurous
grocery outlet supremacy!! honestly one of my favorite places to get food i love that their inventory is ever-changing
emily ur rhe cutest creator on yt! what can i say! i love ya!
That's cause yoplait is a french company ! Also, the ads concept here is like "let's say yes (oui) to plant based". Or at least that what I understood when it came up on TV.
Love your videos! This one was great!
I like blending my oats a bit for savory oatmeal. My favorite is savory oatmeal with vegan cheese melted in, soyrizo, and sauteed mushrooms and topped with green onions. Sooo good
i love your videos so much emily! would you ever try doing a video of primarily "accidentally vegan" products?
i love that some clips on your videos look like they came straight from an 80's coming of age movie also i love everything about your videos
I don't believe in coincidences but this is almost crazy, just yesterday I was talking to myself about cooking food that's not my staple twice a week, thank you for the video Emily!
hi! i am italian and about the lupini: we eat them without the skin and as appetiser usually, like with olives or chips or taralli and things like that!
Love the idea of more videos with recipes you've never tried before! Especially recipes from other vegan creators.✨
Thankful you have opened your world up to Bitchin sauce 🔥 the spin artichoke dip they make is so good, it’s not like a regular spin artichoke dip but it does indeed slap
the everything bagel version of that target dip is good!
I'd do a high shelf with decos and plants. Like jars with pasta, cute cups, spiceboxes. Some hanging plants would be cute
Love your videos Emily :)
Straight out the gate you tried two of my fave things! Qui (try the mango flavor ) and Bustelo instant coffee. 😍
Love this video idea!
i love your vids so much!! you should try the beet smoothie with a tablespoon or 2 of soy lecithin granules, it’s so good and makes it so creamy. i have a very similar smoothie every morning!
the queen has posted
i’ve never heard of that B tchin’ sauce and i saw it for the first time today at the grocery store. we’re energetically aligned
I do really like the Bustello instant. I had never liked an instant coffee before.
trying peanut butter ramen with Gardein chicken now . . . thanks for the inspo!
my local target carries a cashew spicy queso dip by the brand Good Foods, i really like it! i like to use it alongside shredded cheese in my quesadillas, but it’s also good just dipped in chips imo!
not a lot of people know how to eat lupini beans... but traditionally we mix salt cumin and lemon juice and toss the lupini beans to the mix and then pick one bean and peel it using the front teeth and then eat the inside.. it's very addicting as a snack.. and LOVE what you did to the kitchen wall back there!!!!!
for the wall - plants! or shelve with herbs!
Chocolate Beet Cake with Avocado Frosting - My aunt made with golden beets and it was surprisingly sooo good!
that empty wall space looks perfect for some fresh flowers & an art print of some sort !!
they make lids that fit the oui jars and they are perfect for storing things that don’t fill up an entire mason jar
NGL the Target brand hummus is probably my favorite store bought hummus that I've ever had. You just reminded me of it because of the cheese sauce from target haha
i’m now using your video as a grocery list for when i go to grocery outlet this weekend lmao. also have you tried gnocchi?
I think the field roast breakfast sandwich just has tough bread in general because I also got one and the bread was super tough on mine.
Our adventurous queen ✨
I bought four of those oui yogurts like five years ago and now I use the glasses for juice cups 🥹
The peanut butter ramen looks sooo good
Incredibly entertaining & helpful/informative video!!! 😄😍💕👍
The ginger shots from Trader Joe’s are rly good :)
“It’s definitely something uncles would make fun of” -Emily 😂😂 (you crack me up!)
That salad looked incredibly delicious!!!
Haven't seen the Miyoko's liquid pizza cheese around, but def. try the Follow Your Heart parmesan as pizza cheese; it works extremely well and tastes amazing. Great vid. :)
Kitchen is looking cute!
those lupini beans are really good air fried!
That shelf would look like with a small painting for fresh/fake flowers. You could also put a shelf for mail/keys bills etc
Yes I have about 8 of those yoplait cups ive saved lol. I use them for kombucha and like sipping drinks. My stepmom saves them for wine glasses. Love Silk since they’re an all vegan brand but man yoplait makes the best vegan yogurt.
I love pizza so much that I cannot even put it into words. A few weeks ago, I watched a video where the ceo of Miyoko was interviewed. I very nice company. They also talked about the liquid pizza cheese you mentioned. Two taste testers liked the pizza's with Miyoko cheese very much.
YESSSS I love those Lupini beans!!! And bitchin’ sauce ahhhh yes. The original one is my favorite, I love putting it on wraps. Tbh you got so many things in this video that I eat regularly and it made me so happy lol
Make a hot chocolate (or maybe iced?) with the walnut milk and it tastes like brownies ♥️
The Good&Gather pizza dip is actually pretty good! I’m also pretty picky about pre-made as vegan dips(especially “cheese” dips) as I’ve tried SO many not so great or not very good ones…lmao but that one is pretty good!!
Ghee is butter/milk oil. Just an other type of cooking oil. It's often used in Indian food. But you can just use it as a more flavorful oil in anything
You may be the only person who loves Grocery Outlet more than my dad 😂 we have one in our town and he literally calls it “The Galaxy” because it has so much stuff lmao
Sanka makes good decaff and I love Oui as well but they make vegan and non vegan yogurt and put them right next to eachother you really have to read the front and I kept the jars too its like getting free juice glasses! !!
Def just put a nice piece of art you like (like medium to large size) over that phone jack!
A thick cloth tapestry poster with a string on a hanging hook would look nice on the wall u called “ugly” in the kitchen
Just thinking about beets is super relatable 😊
you should do a review of the best grocery store vegan cookies
The Partake cookies are definitely an interesting texture. The flavor is good though.😁👍🏽
Idk if you've changed your hair recently but the length looks so good!
Shoutout to the back wall and the pattern that unfolded as the video went on! 🥰
You should try moccona instant coffee (medium roast is my fav)!!! I’m not sure if it’s in the US but it’s widely available in Australia and it’s the best instant espresso
omg ive never seen kitchen scisscors like that before!! they look like garden shears. where did u get them??
Instead of using a bamboo whisk, I use a handheld milk frother to mix the matcha. This way you can also use it to make latte:)
Got too hungry watching this video that I made some vegan blueberry muffins 😆 All of your food looks so good!!
the matcha flavor is my favorite pearl soymilk so you should try that one!

im def gonna keep an eYE👁 out for that nexttttt
It's not that you can't boil miso, it's just that if it's not ultraprocessed/shelf stable miso that didn't come out of the refrigerated section, then when you heat it over 60C-ish, you kill the probiotics and are only getting the flavouring instead of the full benefits of miso. Shelf stable miso has already been heated during the process and isn't probiotic anymore
Peanut butter in ramen is delicious! 🧡
