Darren Bent was hardly short of takers and Tottenham was his only option so he could have chosen other clubs rather than arch rivals of your team of choice... Also thinking about this and the slating of referees, maybe this needs to be taken into account because I'm sure Bent would be less destraught at missing a last minute winner against arsenal and more inclined to stick it to their rivals which is clearly match influencing.

Same for Bent. Before and after your career you’re a fan. But during you’re a professionnal, you need to progress to improve, to make the best choice for your career, to make money.

@@p3rvypri3st The problem is, bud, although English football is fantastic and I love watching it, your rivalries aren't hate-fuelled intense wars where people are stabbed at the train station and domestic violence goes through the roof 😆 I obviously don't advocate for these things, but Rangers v Celtic is only about 10% to do with football; the rest is an ideological battle vetween British Protestant Loyalists (Rangers) against Irish Catholic Republicans who like to touch children (Celtic) 🤓 I've been fortunate enough to witness United v City, Liverpool v Everton, Newcastle v Sunderland, West Ham v Millwall and Arsenal v Spurs; I'd honestly say Hearts v Hibs in Scotland is a far more intense rivalry than any of the English ones I've just mentioned ⚽ Great football (in England), but pish rivalries 💯

As an arsenal fan I can say I love watching spurs play right now. But then again I’m not tribal. I love football first. I want arsenal to always win but happy to have respect for good football.

If you’re offered £250k a week to play for the enemy, you’d have other similar offers on the table to play for other clubs too. I remember Bent saying clubs in Europe were after him before he joined Tottenham, he could’ve gone elsewhere for good money but chose the bag at Spurs. Now he’s got a platform, he’s acting like he’s the biggest Arsenal fan.
