Smells like you're just trying to cope. Do you know what "agenda" means? You've stated an opinion by most fans last season. And with the lucky stars on your side, it looks like Arsenal are challenging this season - well done. Since you want to compare seasons, why not look at the last 10 years? The fact remains 2nd place is a failure. Who aims for 2nd? If you honestly think it's success, you were probably born after the last time Arsenal won the league.

Not a fan of Arsenal but from a neutral prospective, Arsenal finishing 2nd, can be considered a success in a sense where they have been competitive for the title up until the final moments. Which could help attract more big players to the club to attempt it again next season with a stronger squad. Personality I think they are only a top consistent goalscorer, a left back and better CDM away from maybe winning it next year.

Arsenal fans. 84 pts last season and potentially 89 points this season, win a lot of league titles. There's no shame if we don't win after that. The potential 89 pts is better than 7 of United's title totals. There's just a monster ahead the league refuses to check in 115FC. We've challenged twice now. Blissfully unexpected last season though however we are right there. If not this one and it'll will come. We'll add more quality to our depth then we'll be alright to rotate and spread minutes across the squad. Maybe give the likes of Saka, Martin, Rice, Kai, Saliba, Gabriel the rest they need to storm this end/run in period. Fingers crossed we do it this season but trophies are coming.

I think this shows how little people are in touch with how football actually works… if we didn’t have the season we had last season we wouldn’t have signed Rice - no chance! We wouldn’t have found it as easy to renew everyone of our star players to new contracts. We weren’t able to sign world class players 2 years ago. Now we have more attraction, that’s how the majority of teams can transition from an unsuccessful period to a successful one… Teams like City and Madrid have ruined people’s understanding of the game. How often does a break out team win the league like Leicester? Almost never, Klopp won after building a project that was recognizable, it took him 4/5 years and he was an established coach. Arteta wasn’t a manager 4 years ago!

@Larry4life Liverpool lost the league title to City despite winning 97 points. City had 98 points that season. Liverpool also lost to City another year by a single point after winning 92 points. Quite a few people who mock Klopp and Liverpool for only winning one league title under him either don’t realize, or conveniently forget, that Liverpool twice lost the league title to City by a single point despite winning 97 and 92 points. Arsenal’s Invincible’s won 90 points by comparison and won the league by 11 points. 2nd place Chelsea had 79 points that season. A lot of people don’t take that into consideration when criticizing Klopp for not winning more league titles. At a certain point, people need to stop the mocking and just realize Liverpool came up against monster City sides who won ridiculous points totals.

Success can be subjective. Success for one club is different to another. If any club is progressing against how they performed previously and in relation to how recent them can be deemed a success. If you base it purely on winning league, then 19 teams in premiership have had an unsuccessful season. I’m an Arsenal fan and feel we’ve progressed compared to last year and been successful just not a winning season. We need to do better but feel we’ve progressed and overall season a success based on that

Us not winning the title can be deemed as failure.......BUT......we are still in it with 2 games to go, whereas at his point last season we'd already capitulated. We are still winning games & if we win our last 2 (regardless of City's juggernaut-esque usual finish) we end up with more wins than The Invincibles. Also we will have pushed City to beat their Pts from last season to beat us. It sucks to probably come 2nd again but we keep improving.

Instead only Liverpool were better and they’re falling apart at the last hurdles and Arsenal very well could push this title race to the final day. The bar and standard for success from pundits and blatantly biased non-Arsenal supporters is comically higher for Arsenal than it is for every other “Big 6” Clubs. Edit: Of course Goldstein tries to use the parade plans and act like teams and cities don’t plan in advance for things. I know understand how Liverpool fans must have felt being ridiculed for finishing 2nd to a team with 115 charges over their head in Man City. Arsenal with back to back 85 point plus finishes is a success imo, or alternatively should Arsenal finish 6th and win a carling cup? Arsenal fans have been there, winning FA cups to hide behind failure and these clubs eg United used to ridicule Arsenal for it. Arsenal will start winning big trophies sooner or later, the signs are all there,

City have had this handed to them by the refs, they are not the best team. They rarely even pick up yellows for all their tactical fouls. Silva should have been sent off vs Liverpool for 3 YC challenges and decent in a 10min period, not to mention the Doku penalty on McAllister who got the ball first with his chest prior to the Doku Karate kick. The 106 Jack Greilish dives this season, giving them set pieces to score from... its insane. Saudi's paying English Refs double their PL salary for reffing games in SA. The fix is in for City, always has been. Arsenal probably is the best team in the PL this year, but city will still win (Liverpool fan).

I started watching premier league since early 2000's and I didn't see a team goes in a crazy run like this and make it looks easy to achieve! even prime united couldn't get more than 12 wins in a row! something has to change! Arsenal could've been champions twice in a different league! I literally can't watch a city match more than 20 minutes! it's disgusting! especially this season, there is a huge gap between top3 and the rest of the league!

Tell me what is more difficult - coming from 8th place three seasons ago with a first-time manager and finishing 1st, or winning a 4th consecutive league title while having won 5 of the last 6 with one of the most prestigous managers of all time? No one's asking for a 2nd place victory dance, but use your brain for and think for a minute.
